This paper is an exploratory,empirical study of the Cross-Cultural Adaptation(CCA)issues of Overseas Chinese Stu⁃dents(OCS)studying at the University of Lincoln.The project identifies OCS own language proficiency,motivation of studying abroad and intercultural adaptation attitudes and strategies as the main influencing factors in students’CCA.Research methods in⁃clude Language class observation,a questionnaire survey and interviews.Additional data collection methods include using network communication tools to conduct interviews with OCS,such as Wechat,QQ,Skype and e-mail etc.Further analysis of its causes makes a meaningful contribution to practical strategies and suggestions on how to better develop and cultivate cross-cultural adapt⁃ability. 展开更多

Short-term overseas study tours, as a new type of cross-cultural autonomy education in the era of globalization, aims to help students improve their intercultural communication competence through tourism and cultural ... Short-term overseas study tours, as a new type of cross-cultural autonomy education in the era of globalization, aims to help students improve their intercultural communication competence through tourism and cultural learning. Many studies' subjects are concentrated on the higher learning institutions. However, few of them are concerned about application-oriented university students' ICC. So the behavior and role of students' ICC in the overseas study tours in 2016 and 2017 in one of the application-oriented universities in Zhejiang province becomes the main focus. It exams from three aspects: intercultural attitudes, knowledge and behaviors. Basically, students benefit a lot from study tours, especially in the aspect of practical communication, among which, they change from shy, inexperienced learners to be brave, confident, and skilled in the tours. Also, considering the problems of host school are existed, the suggestions proposed by participants that practical courses of destination countries had better be arranged for students to understand and adapt to it beforehand. Besides, more communication and interactions between students and teachers should be increased to create a more active and relaxed classroom atmosphere, which contribute to mobilize students' initiative and enthusiasm to better become a complementary influence to promote students' ICC. 展开更多

The reform plan combines education concepts with practical research and development. It subdivides students and according to the characteristics of different types of students, and is carried out on campus, outside campus(in the province), and abroad(original area), which makes senior undergraduates fully understand the needs of enterprises, constantly improve their professional practice ability, and improve their competitiveness. Learning analytics is a rapidly evolving research discipline that uses theinsights generated from data analysis to support learners as well as optimize boththe learning process and environment. This paper studied students’ engagementlevel of the Learning Management System (LMS) via a learning analytics tool,student’s approach in managing their studies and possible learning analytic methods to analyze student data. Moreover, extensive systematic literature review(SLR) was employed for the selection, sorting and exclusion of articles fromdiverse renowned sources. The findings show that most of the engagement inLMS are driven by educators. Additionally, we have discussed the factors inLMS, causes of low engagement and ways of increasing engagement factorsvia the Learning Analytics approach. Nevertheless, apart from recognizing theLearning Analytics approach as being a successful method and technique for analyzing the LMS data, this research further highlighted the possibility of mergingthe learning analytics technique with the LMS engagement in every institution asbeing a direction for future research. 展开更多

作为未来从事医学及科研的医学生,医学英文文献阅读是其必须具备的能力,可以帮助医学生获得更多前沿知识,更好地将理论和实践结合起来。医学英文文献包含研究方法和临床疾病诊治原则,是医学生获得临床和科研知识尤其是前沿知识的主要来... 作为未来从事医学及科研的医学生,医学英文文献阅读是其必须具备的能力,可以帮助医学生获得更多前沿知识,更好地将理论和实践结合起来。医学英文文献包含研究方法和临床疾病诊治原则,是医学生获得临床和科研知识尤其是前沿知识的主要来源。而英语基础薄弱的学生在英文文献阅读方面存在一定困难。笔者将Thinking Maps及Mind Map两大类图式思维工具运用于医学生英文文献阅读教学,帮助学生梳理英文文献,快速掌握文献阅读技巧。文章通过一篇英文文献的讲解介绍图式思维工具在英文文献教学中的应用,并采用问卷调查的方法调研该教学方法实施效果:有100%的学生表示该教学方法对英文文献的阅读有帮助,对理清英文文献主题,对文章结构及重点的把握都有很大的提高;所有学生认为有必要继续采用该教学方法进行英文文献学习。学生对图式思维工具辅助医学英文文献阅读持肯定态度。 展开更多
