Analysis of acupoint massage combined with touch on relieving anxiety and pain in patients with oral implant surgery

BACKGROUND Oral implant surgery is an effective procedure for artificial implants in missing tooth areas under local anesthesia.Because patients under local anesthesia are conscious during this procedure,compared with general anesthesia-related operations,they are more likely to experience negative emotions,such as anxiety and tension.These emotional reactions result in shivering and chills in the limbs,leading to poor doctor-patient cooperation and even avoidance of treatment.In traditional Chinese medicine,it is believed that acupoint massage regulates blood and Qi,dredge menstruation,and relieve pain,which is beneficial for patients’emotional adjustment;however,there are few related clinical studies.AIM To observe the changes in anxiety and pain in patients with oral implant after acupoint massage combined with touch therapy.METHODS One hundred patients undergoing oral implantation in our hospital between May 2020 and May 2023 were randomly divided into control and study groups,according to a random number table,with 50 patients in each group.The control group received routine intervention,and the study group received acupoint massage combined with touch on the basis of the control group.Anxiety[assessed using the Modified Dental Anxiety Scale(MDAS)],pain severity,blood pressure,heart rate,and satisfaction were compared between the two groups.RESULTS Before intervention,the difference in MDAS score between the two groups was not significant(P>0.05),while after the intervention,the MDAS scores decreased in both groups compared with those before the intervention(P<0.05);the MDAS score of the study group was lower than that of the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The degree of pain in the intervention group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Before the intervention,there were no significant differences in systolic and diastolic blood pressures or heart rate between the two groups(P>0.05).The systolic and diastolic blood pressures and heart rate in the intervention group,during and after the intervention,were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total degree of satisfaction in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Acupoint massage combined with touch better relieves anxiety and pain in patients undergoing dental implant surgery,improving the perioperative comfort of these patients and ensuring safety and a smooth operation.

Effect of sodium hyaluronate combined with rehabilitation training on knee joint injury caused by golf

BACKGROUND In high-intensity sports like golf,knee joints are prone to injury,leading to pain,limited mobility,and decreased quality of life.Traditional treatment methods typically involve rehabilitation exercises,but their effectiveness may be limited.In recent years,sodium hyaluronate has emerged as a widely used biomedical material in the treatment of joint diseases.AIM To explore the effect of sodium hyaluronate combined with rehabilitation training on pain degree,flexion range of motion and motor function of knee joint injured by golf.METHODS Eighty patients with knee joint injury caused by golf were randomly divided into control(group B)and observation group(group A).The group B was treated with rehabilitation training,and the group A was treated with sodium hyaluronate combined with rehabilitation training.The clinical efficacy,range of motion and function of knee joint,quality of life and inflammatory factors were compared.RESULTS The excellent and good rate of rehabilitation in the group A was raised than group B.At 6 weeks and 3 months after treatment,the range of motion of the two groups was raised than that before treatment,and that of the group A was raised than group B.After treatment,the scores of Lysholm and International Knee Documentation Committee(IKDC)in the group A were raised,and those in the group A were raised than group B.The VAS score of the two groups was reduced than that of the group B,and the SF-36 score of the group A was reduced than group B.The interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-8 and tumor necrosis factor-αin the two groups were reduced,and those in the group A were reduced than group B.CONCLUSION Sodium hyaluronate combined with rehabilitation training has a good clinical effect in the treatment of patients with knee joint injury caused by golf,which relieve pain,maintain knee joint function and improve patients'life quality.

A Comparative Study on the Efficacy between Minimally Invasive Caries Removal Technique involving Carisolv and Traditional Mechanical Caries Removal in Treating Dental Caries in Children

Objective:To explore the curative effect of Carisolv,a minimally invasive caries removal technique and traditional mechanical caries removal treatment on children’s dental caries.Methods:A total of 97 children with dental caries who were treated in the Department of Stomatology in Affiliated Hospital of Chifeng University,Chifeng from September 2017 to May 2019 were selected and recruited as the research subjects.They were divided into two groups by random number table method.Forty-nine individuals were assigned in the control group while the remaining 48 individuals in the observation group.The control group was treated with traditional mechanical caries removal method,and the observation group was treated with minimally invasive caries removal technique,i.e.Carisolv.Both groups were followed up for six months.The degree of pain,recovery time of dental function and complications after six months of treatment were observed in the two groups of children.Results:During the treatment,compared with the control group,the children in the observation group experienced lower degree of pain and had shorter recovery time of dental function.After six months of treatment,the incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with traditional mechanical caries removal method,Carisolv,a minimally invasive caries removal technique could reduce the pain of children during the treatment process,shorten the time to restore dental function,reduce the occurrence of complications,and had a better therapeutic effect in treating children’s dental caries.
