Optimal Hybrid Precoding Based QoE for Partially Structured Massive MIMO System

The traditional precodingcontains only digital signal processing and each antenna connects to each RFchain, which provides high transmission efficiency but high cost and hardwarecomplexity. Hybrid precoding is one of the most popular massive multipleinput multiple output (MIMO) techniques that can save costs and avoid usingcomplex hardware. At present, network services are currently in focus with awide range of traffic volumes. In terms of the Quality of Service (QoS), it iscritical that service providers pay a lot of attention to this parameter and itsrelationship to Quality of Experience (QoE) which is the measurement of theoverall level of user satisfaction. Therefore, this paper proposes hybrid precoding of a partially structured system to improve transmission efficiency andallocate resources to provide network services to users for increasing the usersatisfaction under power constraints that optimize the quality of basebandprecoding and radio frequency (RF) precoding by minimizing alternatingalgorithms. We focus on the web browsing, video, and Voice over IP (VOIP)services. Also, a Mean Opinion Score (MOS) is employed to measure thelevel of user satisfaction. The results show that the partially structured systemprovides a good user satisfaction with the network’s services. The partiallystructured system provides high energy efficiency up to 85%. Considering webservice, the partially structured system for 10 users provides MOS at 3.21 whichis higher than 1.75 of fully structured system. 展开更多

Like reinforced concrete (RC) structure, Prestressed concrete (PC) structures cannot escape from corrosion related problems, especially when they are subjected to very aggressive environment, such as chloride environment. The corrosion of PC and RC structures can take place if the concrete quality is not adequate, the concrete cover is less than that specified in the design, poor detailing during design and construction. For RC structures, corrosion in the reinforcing steel generally leads to serviceability problems (staining, cracking and spalling of concrete). By contrast, for PC structures, corrosion of prestressing strands may initiate structural collapse due to higher stress levels in the steel and smaller diameter of the prestressing steel. Research on corrosion effect on concrete structure has mainly considered the effect of corrosion have on reinforced and full prestressed concrete structure. In this study, a structural framework will be developed to predict the flexural strength of partial prestressed concrete structures in a chloride environment. The corrosion model previously developed for reinforced and prestressed concrete structures will be combined to predict the effect of corrosion has on partial prestressed concrete structures. Note that in partial prestressed concrete structures, both non prestressing steel (passive) and prestressing (active) reinforcement are utilized to carry the load. The framework developed will be combined with probability analysis to take into account the variability of parameters influencing the corrosion process. This approach allows more accurate prediction of service life of partial prestressed concrete structures in a chloride environment. 展开更多

This study demonstrated that a Ru-Ni bimetallic core-shell catalyst(0.6%Ru-Ni)@Si O2with a proper surface Ru concentration is superior in achieving better catalytic activity and tunable H2/CO ratio at a comparatively lower reaction temperature(700℃).Compared to the impregnation method,the hydrothermal approach leads to a highly uniform Ru distribution throughout the core particles.Uniform Ru distribution would result in a proper surface Ru concentration as well as more direct Ru-Ni interaction,accounting for better catalyst performance.Enriched surface Ru species hinders surface carbon deposition,but also declines overall activity and H2/CO ratio,meanwhile likely enhances Ni oxidation to certain degree under the applied reaction conditions.Over the current(m%Ru-Ni)@Si O2catalyst,the formation of fibrous carbon species is suppressed,which accounts for good stability of catalyst within a TOS of 10 h. 展开更多

The long-term strength retrogression of silica-enriched oil well cement poses a significant threat to wellbore integrity in deep and ultra-deep wells, which is a major obstacle for deep petroleum and geothermal energy development. Previous attempts to address this problem has been unsatisfactory because they can only reduce the strength decline rate. This study presents a new solution to this problem by incorporating fly ash to the traditional silica-cement systems. The influences of fly ash and silica on the strength retrogression behavior of oil well cement systems directly set and cured under the condition of 200°C and 50 MPa are investigated. Test results indicate that the slurries containing only silica or fly ash experience severe strength retrogression from 2 to 30 d curing, while the slurries containing both fly ash and silica experience strength enhancement from 2 to 90 d. The strength test results are corroborated by further evidences from permeability tests as well as microstructure analysis of set cement. Composition of set cement evaluated by quantitative X-ray diffraction analyses with partial or no known crystal structure(PONKCS) method and thermogravimetry analyses revealed that the conversion of amorphous C-(A)-S-H to crystalline phases is the primary cause of long-term strength retrogression.The addition of fly ash can reduce the initial amount of C-(A)-S-H in the set cement, and its combined use with silica can prevent the crystallization of C-(A)-S-H, which is believed to be the working mechanism of this new admixture in improving long-term strength stability of oil well cement systems. 展开更多

In this work,the B2 partial disordered structure of the austenitic parent phase,martensitic transformation,elastic and magnetic properties of the Ni8 Mn4+xTi4-x(x=0,1 and 2) Heusler alloys have been systematically investigated by the first-principles calculations.The preferential atomic occupation of B2 structure is one Ti atom exchange with the nearest neighboring Mn atom from the view of lowest energy principle.This disordered exchange sites(Mn-Ti) and the excess Mn atoms occupying the Ti sites(MnTi)could reduce the nearest Mn-Mn distance,resulting in the anti ferromagnetic state in the austenitic and martensitic phases of the alloys.The total magnetic moment of the alloy decreases with the increasing Mn content;it is ascribed to the antiferromagnetic magnetic moments of the excess Mn atoms.When x=0,the alloy does not undergo martensitic transformation since the austenite has absolute phase stability.The martensitic transformation will occur during cooling process for x=1 or 2,owing to the energy difference between the austenite and the martensite could provide the driving force for the phase transformation.The elastic properties of the cubic austenitic phase for the Ni2 MnTi alloy is calculated,and the results reveal the reason why Ni-Mn-Ti alloy has excellent mechanical properties.The origin of martensitic transformation and magnetic properties was discussed based on the electronic density of states. 展开更多

In this paper,it has proposed a realtime implementation of low-density paritycheck(LDPC) decoder with less complexity used for satellite communication on FPGA platform.By adopting a(2048.4096)irregular quasi-cyclic(QC) LDPC code,the proposed partly parallel decoding structure balances the complexity between the check node unit(CNU) and the variable node unit(VNU) based on min-sum(MS) algorithm,thereby achieving less Slice resources and superior clock performance.Moreover,as a lookup table(LUT) is utilized in this paper to search the node message stored in timeshare memory unit,it is simple to reuse and save large amount of storage resources.The implementation results on Xilinx FPGA chip illustrate that,compared with conventional structure,the proposed scheme can achieve at last 28.6%and 8%cost reduction in RAM and Slice respectively.The clock frequency is also increased to 280 MHz without decoding performance deterioration and convergence speed reduction. 展开更多

First, the partially observable control problem of the structure under horizontal ground acceleration excitation is converted into a completely observable control problem. Then the It6 stochastic differential equations of the system are derived based on the stochastic averaging method for quasi-integrable Hamiltonian systems and the stationary solution to the Fokker-Plank-Kolmogorov (FPK) equation associated with the It6 equations is obtained. The performance index in terms of the mean system energy and mean square control force is established and the optimal control force is obtained by minimizing the performance index. Finally, the numerical results for a three-story building structure model under E1 Centro, Hachinohe, Northridge and Kobe earthquake excitations are given to illustrate the application and the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

This paper focuses on the indicators of soil and litter health, disturbance, and landscape heterogeneity as a tool for prediction of ecosystem sustainability in the northern forests of Iran. The study area was divided into spatial homogenous sites using slope, aspect, and soil humidity classes. Then a range of sites along the disturbance gradient was selected for sampling. Chemical and physical indicators of soil and litter health were measured at random points within these sites. Structural equation modeling(SEM) was applied to link six constructs of landscape heterogeneity, three constructs of disturbance(harvest, livestock, and human accessibility), and soil and litter health. The results showed that with decreasing accessibility, the total N and organic matter content of soil increased and effective bulk density decreased. Harvesting activities increased soil organic matter. Therefore, it is concluded that disturbances through harvesting and accessibility inversely affect the soil health. Unexpectedly, it was found that the litter total C and C:N ratio improved with an increase in the harvest and accessibility disturbances, whereas litter bulk density decreased. Investigation of tree composition revealed that in the climax communities, which are normally affected more by harvesting activities, some species like Fagus orientalis Lipsky with low decomposition rate are dominant. The research results showed that changes in disturbance intensity are reflected in litter and soil indicators, whereas the SEM indicated that landscape heterogeneity has a moderator effect on the disturbance to both litter and soil paths. 展开更多

Interpretative structural model(ISM) can transform a multivariate problem into several sub-variable problems to analyze a complex industrial structure in a more efficient way by building a multi-level hierarchical structure model. To build an ISM of a production system, the partial correlation coefficient method is proposed to obtain the adjacency matrix, which can be transformed to ISM. According to estimation of correlation coefficient, the result can give actual variable correlations and eliminate effects of intermediate variables. Furthermore, this paper proposes an effective approach using ISM to analyze the main factors and basic mechanisms that affect the energy consumption in an ethylene production system. The case study shows that the proposed energy consumption analysis method is valid and efficient in improvement of energy efficiency in ethylene production. 展开更多

Hybrid beamforming( HBF) technology becomes one of the key technologies in the millimeter wave( mm Wave)mobile backhaul systems,for its lower complexity and low power consumption compared to full digital beamforming( DBF). Two structures of HBF exist in the mm Wave mobile backhaul system,namely,the fully connected structures( FCS) and partially connected structures( PCS). However,the existing methods cannot be applied to both structures. Moreover,the ideal phase shifter is considered in some current HBF methods,which is not realistic. In this paper,a HBF algorithm for both structures based on the discrete phase shifters is proposed in the mm Wave mobile backhaul systems. By using the principle of alternating minimization,the optimization problem of HBF is decomposed into a DBF optimization problem and an analog beamforming( ABF) optimization problem.Then the least square( LS) method is enabled to solve the optimization model of DBF. In addition,the achievable data rate for both structures with closed-form expression which can be used to convert the optimization model into a single-stream beamforming optimization model with per antenna power constraint is derived. Therefore,the ABF is easily solved. Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed HBF method can approach the full DBF by using a lower resolution phase shifter. 展开更多

An Exploratory Analysis of a Subjective Well-Being Model for Chinese University Students

College students experience great stress due to many factors,such as an uncertain future,academic responsibilities,and pressures imposed by social communication.Many institutions of higher education are focusing on how to mediate stressful situations and increase the subjective well-being(SWB)of students to sustain a lifestyle focused on wellness.The online survey used for this study focused on testing an exploratory SWB model by implementing partial least squares structural equation modeling(PLS-SEM)techniques.The participants were 470 college-aged students enrolled in seven different institutions in six cities across China.Findings yielded a good model fit(the Standardized Root Mean Squared Residual[SRMR]=.054)with the validity of manifest variables,reliability of the latent variables(LVs),and overall SWB model indicating moderate predictiveness(GoF R^(2)=.476)by the LVs.Additionally,all of the direct path coefficients and indirect path coefficients that consisted of four partial mediators and one full mediator yielded statistically significant results via bootstrapping.Furthermore,path coefficients for utilization of emotion to life satisfaction for the cognitive exercise group were significantly higher than for the non-cognitive exercise group.The findings illustrated a good model fit for an exploratory SWB model that can predict an individual’s SWB,and cognitive and non-cognitive exercises had different effects on the individuals’SWB. 展开更多
