Argentina has been experiencing profound changes in relation to the population groups with access to the different educational levels, presenting painful differences in the quality and effectiveness of education given in different population and geographic sectors. Secondary education in Argentina is currently the educational level on which all eyes are focused. On the one hand, due to the progressive obligatoriness, but to a greater extent a large number of secondary school age population are effectively excluded from the possibility of exercising the right to quality education. The paper tries to examine, through an analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the Argentinian educational system, what are the critical points of inflection where to incorporate elements of innovation to achieve better quality and inclusion standards in a country marked by deep levels of inequality in the access and quality of education in its different population groups. The research has been conducted through a descriptive methodology, using quantitative and qualitative analysis of primary and secondary sources. It is set on a bibliographical review based on reports and studies of recent publications, coming from official, national, and international public institutions. The paper aims to be a ftrst step in a diagnostic analysis of Argentinian education, but in a comparative manner, contrasting indicators and local indexes with international and regional trends in the subject. The main results point out that a deep transformation of the secondary school is needed, in such a way as to respond to the many signs of inequality, fragmentation and poor quality of the most vulnerable population groups.展开更多

Between these evolutions, we are witnessing new teaching locations or sites called "learning labs". The aim of this article is to present how the deployment of such a location (sometimes named third places) can offer some new perspectives, modifies the way of teaching and gives some interesting results both from the teachers' point of view (in terms of assessment of knowledge and know-how) and for the learners (in terms of motivation, immersion and exchanges). In a second phase, we will focus on the predominant role that electronics can take in setting up formations, especially around "connected objects" (i.e. communicating devices connected to networks). We will illustrate concretely our idea around an experimental training which has obtained the national label GEN ("Grande Ecole du Numkrique").展开更多

This study discusses the theoretical underpinnings of design-based teaching methodology and its practical applications in interdisciplinary settings. It discusses current practices and emerging trends in how design thinking principles bridge the gap between artistic expression and educational pedagogy. The results highlight the importance of a collaborative learning environment, an iterative process, and project-based approaches that allow the development of skills related to creativity besides the analytical ones. The main strategies in implementing methodologies for such purposes and their impact on student engagement in learning are discussed.展开更多

This study was conducted by using a Quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group design. College English was adopted to examine the difference between two groups (one only with TI, the other with a merger of TI and IT) whose pretest-posttest comparisons to measure achievement of the course objectives. An analysis of covariance on the posttest scores with pretest scores as the covariate showed that the TI plus IT group performed significantly better than the TI alone group with a positive effect size.展开更多

文摘Non-English majors' evaluation on teachers is a vital way to get feedback of English language classroom teaching and learning. This paper reports on a study which used a discourse-analytic approach to look into the existing problems in English classroom teaching at undergraduates' level.
