Effect of droplet characteristics on liquid-phase distribution in spray zone of internal mixing air-mist nozzle

In continuous casting production,droplet characteristics are important parameters for evaluating the nozzle atomization quality,and have a significant impact on the secondary cooling effect and the slab quality.In order to study the behavior of atomized droplets after reaching the slab surface and to optimize the spray cooling effect,the influence of droplet diameter and droplet velocity on the migration behavior of droplets in the secondary cooling zone was analyzed by FLUENT software.Results show that the droplets in the spray zone and on the slab surface are mainly concentrated in the center,thus,the liquid volume fraction in the center is higher than that of either side.As the droplet diameter increases,the region of high liquid volume fraction on the slab surface becomes wider,and the liquid phase distribution in the slab width direction becomes uneven.Although increasing the droplet velocity at the nozzle exit has little effect on droplet diffusion in the spray zone,the distribution becomes more uneven due to more liquid reaches the slab surface per unit time.A prediction formula of the maximum water flow rate on the slab surface for specific droplet characteristics was proposed based on dimensionless analysis and validated by simulated data.A nozzle spacing of 210 mm was recommended under the working conditions in this study,which ensures effective coverage of the spray water over the slab surface and enhances the distribution uniformity of water flow rate in the transverse direction. 展开更多

Although two-dimensional perovskite devices are highly stable,they also lead to a number of challenges.For instance,the introduction of large organic amines makes crystallization process complicated,causing problems such as generally small grain size and blocked charge transfer.In this work,imprint assisted with methylamine acetate were used to improve the morphology of the film,optimize the internal phase distribution,and enhance the charge transfer of the perovskite film.Specifically,imprint promoted the dispersion of spacer cations in the recrystallization process with the assistance of methylamine acetate,thus inhibited the formation of low-n phase induced by the aggregation of spacer cations and facilitated the formation of 3D-like phase.In this case,the corresponding quasi-2D perovskite solar cells delivered improved efficiency and exhibited superior stability.Our work provides an effective strategy to obtain uniform phase distribution for quasi-2D perovskite. 展开更多

Phase type delay distribution with PU return and sensing error in CR networks

There is also som... Many studies have been done in cognitive radios to maximize the network efficiency. There is always a trade-off between sensing and transmission time which has been addressed fully in the literature. There is also some missed idle times during the waiting phase when secondary user finds the channel busy. Therefore, the longer the transmission time is, the higher the successfully delivered bits would be and the higher the missed idle times in the waiting stage would be expected. In this work, we formulate these missed idle times to addressed this trade-off. Furthermore, interference due to PU re-occupancy is modelled in successful transmitted time and in collision probability. Moreover, we derive secondary user's packet delay distribution using phase type model at which retransmission due to collision results from both sensing error and PU re-occupancy is considered. Thanks to derived delay distribution, any statistical moments of delay could be found as a closed form mathematical expression. These moments can be used as constraints for applications with delay sensitive packets. Numerical results are given to clarify the network metrics. Finally, the optimized values for sensing and transmission time are computed using genetic algorithm in order to maximize access efficiency. 展开更多

An experimental study was conducted to investigate the properties of stratified regular or wavy two-phase flow in two parallel separators located after a manifold.A total of 103 experiments with various gas and liquid velocity combinations in three inlet pipes were conducted,including 77 groups of outlet pipe resistance symmetry and 26 groups of outlet pipe resistance asymmetry trials.The experimental results have revealed that when the gas-liquid flow rate is low,the degree of uneven splitting is high,and“extreme”conditions are attained.When the superficial gas velocity is greater than that established in the extreme case,the direction of the liquid-phase displacement is reversed,while that of the gas remains unchanged.Thus,the degree of gas phase bias tends to be mitigated with an increase in the gas velocity,while the uneven splitting degree of liquid approaches 10%.Finally,varying the gas-phase outlet pipe resistance is shown to effectively change the gas-liquid two-phase flow distribution. 展开更多

Surrogate model for reservoir performance prediction with time-varying well control based on depth generative network

This paper proposes a novel intelligent method for defining and solving the reservoir performance prediction problem within a manifold space,fully considering geological uncertainty and the characteristics of reservoirs performance under time-varying well control conditions,creating a surrogate model for reservoir performance prediction based on Conditional Evolutionary Generative Adversarial Networks(CE-GAN).The CE-GAN leverages conditional evolution in the feature space to direct the evolution of the generative network in previously uncontrollable directions,and transforms the problem of reservoir performance prediction into an image evolution problem based on permeability distribution,initial reservoir performance and time-varying well control,thereby enabling fast and accurate reservoir performance prediction under time-varying well control conditions.The experimental results in basic(egg model)and actual water-flooding reservoirs show that the model predictions align well with numerical simulations.In the basic reservoir model validation,the median relative residuals for pressure and oil saturation are 0.5%and 9.0%,respectively.In the actual reservoir model validation,the median relative residuals for both pressure and oil saturation are 4.0%.Regarding time efficiency,the surrogate model after training achieves approximately 160-fold and 280-fold increases in computational speed for the basic and actual reservoir models,respectively,compared with traditional numerical simulations.The reservoir performance prediction surrogate model based on the CE-GAN can effectively enhance the efficiency of production optimization. 展开更多

Two kinds of semi-solid samples of AZ80−0.2Y−0.15Ca(wt.%)(AZ80M)magnesium alloy were prepared by semi-solid isothermal heat treatment of materials with and without equal channel angular pressing(ECAP)process.The microstructures of initial and semi-solid treated samples were compared and analyzed.The results showed a significant difference in the liquid phase distribution between three-pass ECAP processed(3P)and as-received samples during the isothermal heating process.The semi-solid 3P sample showed a more uniform liquid distribution due to its smaller dihedral angle.Besides,the coarsening processes of solid grains of as-received and 3P samples were dominated by the coalescence and Ostwald ripening mechanism,respectively.The difference of coarsening processes was mainly related to the proportion of the high-angle grain boundaries in materials,which further affected the evolution behavior of the liquid pools. 展开更多

In the present study,the effects of cooked rice(CR)with added fructo-oligosaccharide(FOS)on faecal flora were studied by a simulated in vitro digestion and fermentation method.The total carbohydrate content,p H,and s hort-chain fatty acids(SCFAs)were determined during in vitro digestion and fermentation.The change in the bacterial phase distribution after the fermentation was also analysed.The results showed that t he total carbohydrate content of the CR with added FOS(FCR)significantly decreased during the simulated digestion.Meanwhile,the p H of the FCR decreased and the SCFAs concentration increased significantly compared to those of the CR during the simulated fermentation.In addition,the FCR showed the advantage of promoting beneficial bacteria,such as Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus,and inhibiting harmful bacteria,such as Bacteroides and Klebsiella compared to the CR.Therefore,the FOS as a prebiotic could be recommended to produce the high-quality healthy rice food. 展开更多

Microstructural features including pore size distribution, cell walls and phase compositions of magnesium oxychloride cement foams(MOCF) with various MgO powders and water mixture ratios were studied. Their infl uences on compressive strength, water absorption and resistance of MOCF were also discussed in detail. The experimental results indicated that moderate and slight excess MgO powders(MgO/MgCl2 molar ratios from 5.1 to 7) were beneficial to the formation of excellent microstructure of MOCF, but increasing water contents(H2O/MgO mass ratios from 0.9 to 1.29) might result in opposite conclusions. The microstructure of MOCF produced with moderate and slight excess MgO powders could enhance the compressive strength, while serious excess MgO powders addition(MgO/MgCl2 molar ratios = 9) would destroy the cell wall structures, and therefore decrease the strength of the system. Although MOCF produced with excess MgO powders could decrease the water absorption, its softening coefficient was lower than that of the material produced with moderate MgO powders. This might be due to the instability of phase 5, the volume expansion and cracking of cell walls as immersed the sample into water. 展开更多

In order to reveal the influence of forced ventilation on the dispersion of droplets ejected from roadheader-mounted external sprayer,the paper studies the air-flowing field and the droplet distribution under the condition of gentle breeze and normal forced ventilation in heading face using the particle tracking technology of computational fluid dynamics(CFD).The results show that air-flowing tendency in the same section presents great comparability in the period of gentle breeze and forced ventilation,and the difference mainly embodies in the different wind velocity.The influence of ventilation on the dispersion of droplets is faint under the gentle breeze condition.The droplet can be evenly distributed around the cutting head.However,under the normal forced ventilation,a large number of droplets will drift to the return air side.At the same time,droplet clusters are predominantly presented in the lower part of windward side and the middle of the leeward side around the cutting head.In contrast,the droplet concentration in other parts around cutting head decreases a lot and the droplets are unable to form close-grained mist curtain.So the dust escape channel is formed.In addition,the simulation results also reveal that the disturbance of air flow on the droplet distribution can be effectively relieved when using ventilation duct with Coanda effect(VDCE).Field experiment results show that the dust suppression efficiency of total dust and respirable dust increases respectively by 10.5%and 9.3%when using VDCE,which proves that it can weaken the influence of airflow on droplet dispersion. 展开更多

Fluid invasion through fractures is frequently observed in subsurface engineering. To elucidate the microkinetic behavior of fracture fluids, the microfracture structure of coal from the Surat Basin was reconstructed using a 3D morphometric system and stitching algorithm, then the transparent models characterizing the fracture structure were produced using microfluidics, and water invasion in the microfracture model was measured via visualization experiments under various conditions. High flow rate facilitated the invasion of the water phase into the closed channel, improving the efficiency of water invasion in the neutral wetting system. Wettability reversal changed the dominant channel for water invasion in the hydrophobic system. The invasion efficiency in closed and small aperture bypass channels was low.The reduction of effective seepage channels led to the fastest breakthrough time.
