Study of Surface and Subsurface Defects in Materials by Photothermal Deflection Technique: Theory and Experience

Both high spatial resolution and high sensitivity are required to detect them. In order to improve the theoretical model in the case of uniform heating (one dimensional heat treatment) we have chosen to heat the sample by a halogen lamp. The sample which contains a known surface and subsurface defects is first covered by a thin graphite layer and placed in air. The sample fixed on a vertical holder is able to move in the x and y directions thanks a two stepper motors. The measurement showed excellent agreement between experimental and simulation results. 展开更多

Photothermal deflection spectroscopy is a method used indirectly to measure optical absorption of a sample. Different techniques can be employed to measure the amount of deflection, hence evaluate optical absorption of sample. This work investigates an alternative method both in principle and technique to measure sample’s optical absorption. The new method employed for the first time, relies on the simple idea of light beam deflection from the medium under investigation as a result of change in the index of refraction in its vicinity. The amount of deviation executed by the deviated beam is estimated using new technique that is used for the first time in deflection spectroscopy. As the deviated beam is allowed to pass through a single slit, the value of beam deflection is estimated from the resulting diffraction pattern, i.e. indicating the value of changes taking place in the sample and or measure sample’s optical absorption. The new detection technique used in the estimation of probe beam deflection was also applied in photothermal spectroscopy. Results from both methods were compared and revealed the ease of use of the new method, in addition it cuts cost and experimental efforts although its sensitivity is less than the conventional photothermal method. 展开更多

In the recent literature concerning the multi-propped bottom-up technique Shanghai Metro Stations Excavations, there is evidence of the importance of the disturbance in terms of greater wall horizontal deflections and consequently vertical settlements in the neighbouring, caused by the late long time of open -cut excavation without propping. Here is proposed, theoretical and pragmatic at the same time, a new approach to face the problem of the wall deflections and the related vertical settlements behind the wall. The solution proposed is indeed to impede any formation of the incipient sliding in the active wedge soil rupture surface, by oblique piling crossing over the rupture surface through a longer pile penetration length in relation to the active wedge before any excavation process starts. This piled-construction will then cut to shape the excavation profiles recurring to loss of piles material. This solution is particularly fit for high seismicity prone areas, because of the minor relative loss of per unit length of pile, caused by the greater depth of the rupture surfaces to get and cross over. 展开更多

针对透射式光学偏折系统中最关键的标定环节,提出使用曲面拟合方式拟合显示屏幕面形分布。建立基于透射式光学偏折术的波前检测仿真模型,分析两种不同的显示屏面形拟合方法对波前测量的影响。仿真结果显示:平面屏幕模型波前像差均方根误... 针对透射式光学偏折系统中最关键的标定环节,提出使用曲面拟合方式拟合显示屏幕面形分布。建立基于透射式光学偏折术的波前检测仿真模型,分析两种不同的显示屏面形拟合方法对波前测量的影响。仿真结果显示:平面屏幕模型波前像差均方根误差(RMS)值为0.8375μm,而曲面屏幕模型仿真波前像差RMS值仅为0.0596μm。采用透射式光学偏折系统对球面透镜进行波前测量,曲面屏幕模型中波前像差RMS值为0.1371μm,平面屏幕模型中波前像差RMS值为1.4326μm。实验结果表明:使用曲面拟合效果明显优于平面拟合效果,证明了曲面拟合屏幕模型的可行性。 展开更多

为了减小凹形面金刚石砂轮的激光修整误差,建立激光遮蔽效应和激光斜面分散效应误差模型,分析了激光切向修整凹形面金刚石砂轮的误差来源,提出了偏转激光修整凹形面成形砂轮法,并通过理论分析和实验验证,探索了修整参数对凹形面砂轮轮... 为了减小凹形面金刚石砂轮的激光修整误差,建立激光遮蔽效应和激光斜面分散效应误差模型,分析了激光切向修整凹形面金刚石砂轮的误差来源,提出了偏转激光修整凹形面成形砂轮法,并通过理论分析和实验验证,探索了修整参数对凹形面砂轮轮廓精度和圆弧半径的影响。结果表明,在1°~1.5°的偏转角范围内,斜边轮廓修整精度为8μm;在合适的偏转角度下,圆弧半径误差小于10μm;在修整凹弧半径为0.2 mm和0.5 mm、补偿半径分别为0.03 mm和0.06 mm时,凹弧半径误差分别缩小0.02 mm和0.03 mm。偏转激光修整法有效地提高了修整精度,减小了修整误差,为凹形面金刚石修整提供了新思路。 展开更多
