Discussion on the "Four State" of Plant Design in Classical Garden

From the angle of modern landscape design,the ideological essence of plant design in classical garden was analyzed.The concept and connotation of ecology,culture,form and mentality were summarized,and the succession and continuity of plant design in modern landscape from these four aspects were primarily discussed.

Optimum municipal wastewater treatment plant design with consideration of uncertainty

A newly developed model for the optimum municipal wastewater treatment plant(MWTP) design is presented. Through introducing the interval variables, the model attempts to consider the effects of uncertainties caused by the fluctuation of the wastewater quality and quantity during the design of MWTP. The model solution procedure is illustrated in detail, and a numerical example is given to verify the feasibility and advantage of the model. Furthermore, the possibility of the model application is briefly outlined.

Research on Key Points of Design of Standard Plants in Modern Industrial Parks Under the Background of Promoting the Development of New Quality Productive Forces

With the progress of science and technology and the acceleration of industrialization,the modern industrial park is an important carrier of industrial development.The importance of its standard plant design has become increasingly prominent.With the development of new quality productive forces as the background,this research deeply discusses the key points of standard plant design in modern industrial parks.This paper uses literature review and case analysis to systematically analyze the important role of standard plant design in developing new quality productive forces in modern industrial parks and puts forward suggestions for optimizing design.It is found that the rationality,intelligence,and environmental protection of plant design are the key factors affecting the development of new quality productive forces.The paper summarizes the core points of modern industrial park standard plant design to provide a reference for the future development of related industries.

Landscape Design and Application of Plants in Modern Residential Area

Based on the present situation of plant landscape in residential areas, this study aimed to analyze the development trend, deficiencies in constructing landscape environment and the basic designing principles, and put forward corresponding countermeasures.

Landscape and Planting Design of Yanyang Farm in Taicang City of Jiangsu Province

Taking the planning and designing of tourism orchard in Yanyang Farm of Taicang City as the study case,this paper aimed to shape this orchard into a natural,unique,cultural,participatory and sustainable modern tourism picking orchard,with the function of popularizing knowledge of flowers and fruits and displaying Hi-Tech achievements.Based on the introduction of superior new varieties of fruit trees,enhanced fruit production function,a sound basis for tourism picking orchard system will be established.The designing plan divided the whole orchard into 4 parts,which are "Spring Garden","Summer Garden","Autumn Garden" and "Winter Garden".With landscape design of fruit trees as the key part,this paper made preliminary research on landscape design of this orchard.① "Spring Garden",which aimed to show early spring in the orchard of agricultural landscape,covering an area of 0.83 hm2,the main tree species were Malus spectabilis(Ait.) Borkh.,Cerasus pseudocerasus,Armeniaca vulgaris and Vatica mangachapoi.② "Autumn Garden",which aimed to show fruitful harvest scene,covering an area of 1.67 hm2,the main tree species were Punica granatum,Crataegus pinnatifida and Diospyros kaki Linn.f.③ "Summer Garden",which aimed to provide tourism attractions for students on summer vacation,covering an area of 1.73 hm2,the main tree species were peach,plum and Prunus simonii Carr..④"Winter Garden",which aimed to provide one activity area for tourists in winter orchard,covering an area of 0.96 hm2,the main tree species were Citrus reticulate Banco and Eriobotrya japonica.This tourist orchard tried to achieve harmony unity of orchard fruit production,landscape tourism,recreational services and so on,thus providing useful references to the designing of tourist orchard in leisure agricultural farm.

Plant Landscape Design for Commercial Pedestrian Streets

In view of the deficiencies in landscaping of commercial pedestrian streets,this study elaborated the functions of plant landscapes,such as improving the street environment,beautifying the street,creating spaces of diversified uses,and attracting more pedestrians.On the basis of this,plant landscape design principles and techniques for commercial pedestrian streets were put forward,by combining with successful cases,relevant design suggestions were given for particular streets or environments,so as to provide references for the landscaping of commercial pedestrian streets.

Study on Design and Application of Plant Acoustic Barrier along Highway

Through analysis on characteristic of highway traffic noise and pollution-treating and noise-reducing mechanism,the paper had illustrated feasibility and advantage to reduce traffic noise along highway by making use of plant acoustic barrier,introduced design model and methods of plant acoustic barrier,and principles and scope for plants' selection.On this basis,by taking K37+100-K37+250 section of Yunnan Chuda Highway for example,application of plant acoustic barrier had been studied,general situation and design schemes of pilot project analyzed,and some matters needing attention proposed.Based on the analysis of a large amount of statistical data and researches on pilot project of noise-reducing by plants along Yunnan Chuda Highway,it hoped to provide reference for similar engineering projects.

Planting Design of Urban Air Farm

Air farm could provide urban people with a beautiful place to release working pressure,remove troubles,cultivate moral character and long for future.It was of practical value.The paper had analyzed the tendency and necessity to construct air farm and put forward limiting factors and favorable factors for construction of air farm.Limiting factors were:① man-made planting soil had separated plants from the earth,restricting the supply of underground water;② plants on roof had weak capacity resisting to wind.Favorable factors were fresh air,good light and large temperature difference between day and night,which were beneficial for growth of plants.Based on domestic planting of blueberry,starting from the angles of good visual appearance,ecological effect and economic effect,four planting methods of blueberry had been proposed,which were standard planting,landscape planting,greenhouse planting,and combination planting.It hoped to apply new techniques,new materials and research results in practical design of air farm as far as possible.

This paper reviewed basic principles of small courtyard landscape design, and analyzed the way of integrating plants and other landscape elements in small courtyards.

INTERFERENCE CHECKING IN COMPUTER-AIDED PLANT DESIGN SYSTEM

In this paper, the interference checking of three-dimensional objects within a plant is discussed and accomplished, which offers an automated solution to the design problems inherent in multi-user, multi-model environments. Also, the collision detection among moving objects is presented and discussed, and some new ideas are proposed. These methods are successfully applied in our Plant Design System (PDS) and are proven to be very practical and efficient.

Analysis of Courtyard Plant Landscape Design

Plant landscaping in courtyard design was studied from four perspectives of building, water, road, garden setting and plant landscaping. Landscape designs in Guangzhou Baiyun Hotel, the Humble Administrator's Garden (Suzhou), and bamboo pathway of Small Yingzhou in the West Lake (Hangzhou) to improve scientific and artistic properties of plant landscaping, and develop economic, social and ecological effects of garden green spaces to the most.

Plant Landscape Design in River Renovation Based on Site Characte-ristics——A Case Study of Plant Landscape Design in Renovation of Longwanggang River

Plant landscape design in the renovation of Longwanggang River was taken for example to elaborate that plant landscape designs based on site characteristics are mainly demonstrated as "respecting original landforms, considering original plant species, communities and landscapes, exploring proper indigenous plant species". Plant landscapes of Longwanggang River were oriented as riverfront landscape belt with multiple textures, urban portal and ecological corridor, aiming at returning to the nature, integrating environmental resources, achieving large scales and multiple forms. Considering properties of the neighboring plots, functional areas are divided according to different community types and eco-community structure of the plant landscapes, so as to form landscape nodes, highlight overall plant landscape effects, regional characteristics and low maintenance cost.

Design and Comparison of Wastewater Treatment Plant Types (Activated Sludge and Membrane Bioreactor), Using GPS-X Simulation Program: Case Study of Tikrit WWTP (Middle Iraq)

Mathematical models and simulation are considered a powerful tool in engineering practice. Those tools are becoming increasingly used for the improvement of wastewater treatment plants design because the conceptual design is complex and ill-defined. In this paper, three alternatives: 1) complete mix activated sludge without nitrogen removal (CAS);2) complete mix activated sludge with nitrogen removal (CAS-N) and;3) membrane bioreactor (MBR) processes were designed into two steps: first concept design to calculate the size of process units, then second implement modeling and simulation to improve the accuracy of the conceptual design. In brief, the treatment process design has been verified by using the activated sludge model No. 1 (ASM1) in GPS-X (v.7) simulation software. This application helps not only in sizing the treatment units but also in understanding the plant’s capacity. In the same time, it can assist in studying the future expansion works required for increased hydraulic and organic loadings. For this purpose, Tikrit WWTP was selected as a case study. The used model was validated by comparing the designed values of the plant and the modeling data. The verification of the obtained results from both hand calculations and the results of the program showed a good agreement. A significant difference in the volume of secondary treatment was obtained from design calculations, where the CAS without denitrification system was 9244 m3 (aerobic and secondary tanks), CAS with denitrification system was 11,324 m3 (anoxic, aerobic and secondary tanks) and for MBR system was 7468 m3 (anoxic, aerobic and immersed membrane tanks). From the obtained results point of view, it can be concluded that mathematical models can be considered as worthy tools to complement the established wastewater treatment plant design procedures.

H_∞ control design for unstable plants

For the control of unstable plants,it is required that the Nyquist locus of the system should encircle anticlockwise the point-1+j0,and the performance weighting function must be selected based on the specific requirement of the mid-frequency gain. Besides,the performance limitation imposed by the Bode's integral also must be considered. Therefore the H∞ design for unstable plants is different from that in the regular case. It is pointed out that the sensitivity function for unstable plants must remain constant over the mid-frequency range to ensure a robust design. The selection of weighting functions to meet these requirements in the H∞ design is discussed in detail in the paper. A mixed sensitivity H∞ design example is also given to demonstrate the special considerations of the design.

Special Space and Plant Landscape Design of Urban Ecological Buildings

This paper mainly discusses the application of plant landscape design in special space of ecological buildings. From the concept of special space of ecological buildings,it elaborates social benefits and ecological benefits of greening projects in special space. It introduces the classification method for special space of ecological building with habitat as the major part combining characteristics of building form. On the basis of such classification,it discusses green design method and plant selection principle,to provide certain reference for garden designers in green design of ecological buildings.
