The microstructural evolution of NiTi SMA at the different deformation degree was investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). At the deformation degree by 15%, a high density of dislocations occurs in the deformed NiTi sample. At the deformation degree by 25%, the deformed NiTi sample exhibits the martensite morphology due to the pinning of dislocations at the grain boundaries. At the deformation degree by 50%, a small amount of nanocrystalline phase arises in the deformed NiTi sample. At the deformation degree by 80%, severe plastic deformation (SPD) leads to the occurrence of a great deal of amorphous and nanocrystalline phase,展开更多

The developments of new processing techniques have recently enabled the production of nanocrystalline materials with improved properties. These developments have opened avenues for newer applications for SMAs. The influence of severe plastic deformation induced by the high-speed high-pressure torsion(HSHPT) process on the microstructural evolution of an Fe–Mn–Si–Cr alloy was investigated. Transmission electron microscopic analysis of the alloy revealed the existence of nanoscale grains with an abundance of stacking faults. The high density of dislocations characteristic of severe plastic deformation was not observed in this alloy. X-ray diffraction studies revealed the presence of ε-martensite with an HCP crystal structure and γ-phase with an FCC structure.展开更多

Based on a rigid plastic material, the paper derives the macroscopic constitutive laws for homogenous equivalent medium. By changing the shape parameter of circular particles, the effect of pore shape on macroscopic constitutive laws is explored. Yield surfaces with different pore shapes are obtained. About voids,a two-scale conception is introduced, which regards main void as macroscopic scale and secondary cavities as microscopic scale. The macroscopic potential involving main and secondary voids is achieved. The proposed macroscopic constitutive law taking microscopic features as influence factors is helpful for exploring the macroscopic mechanical properties of porous medium when numerical simulation is required.展开更多

This improvement is realized without any changes to the simple elliptical shape of the bounding surface, and actually reduces the number of parameters associated with the model by one.展开更多

The research results show the following: If appropriately controlled, unequalplastic deformation can play an important role not only in the improvement of quality of partsobtained by plastic processing technologies, but also in the development of new processes foradvanced plastic working technologies. A coordinated growth of unequal plastic deformation candevelop the deformation potentiality of material to the fall. The degree of unequal plasticdeformation can be used as bases for optimization design of processes and dies of plastic forming.展开更多

Three phases, austenite A, twinned martensite and detwinned martensite , as well as the phase transitions occurring between each pair of phases (, , , , and are considered in the proposed model. Meanwhile, two kinds of inelastic deformation mechanisms, martensite transformation-induced plasticity and reorientation-induced plasticity, are used to explain the degeneration of shape memory effects of NiTi SMAs. The evolution equations of internal variables are proposed by attributing the degeneration of shape memory effect to the interaction between the three phases (A, , and and plastic deformation. Finally, the capability of the proposed model is verified by comparing the predictions with the experimental results of NiTi SMAs. It is shown that the degeneration of shape memory effect and its dependence on the loading level can be reasonably described by the proposed model.展开更多
