A validated stability-indicating LC method for the separation of enantiomer and potential impurities of Linezolid using polar organic mode 被引量:4

Although a number of methods are available for evaluating Linezolid and its possible impurities, a common method for separation if its potential impurities, degradants and enantiomer in a single method with good efficiency remain unavailable. With the objective of developing an advanced method with shorter runtimes, a simple, precise, accurate stability-indicating LC method was developed for the determination of purity of Linezolid drug substance and drug products in bulk samples and pharmaceutical dosage forms in the presence of its impurities and degradation products. This method is capable of separating all the related substances of Linezolid along with the chiral impurity. This method can also be used for the estimation of assay of Linezolid in drug substance as well as in drug product. The method was developed using Chiralpak IA (250 mm 4.6 mm, 5 mm) column. A mixture of acetonitrile, ethanol, n-butyl amine and trifluoro acetic acid in 96:4:0.10:0.16 (v/v/v/v) ratio was used as a mobile phase. The eluted compounds were monitored at 254 nm. Linezolid was subjected to the stress conditions of oxidative, acid, base, hydrolytic, thermal and photolytic degradation. The degradation products were well resolved from main peak and its impurities, proving the stability-indicating power of the method. The developed method was validated as per International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines with respect to specificity, limit of detection, limit of quantification, precision, linearity, accuracy, robustness and system suitability. 展开更多

The study shows that polyacrylate anion exchangers, particularly the weakly basic, gel anion exchanger Amberlite IRA 68, can be applied to the separation of rare earth complexes with EDTA in H_2O-methanol and H_2O-ethanol systems. Developing easily accessible deep-red/near-infrared circularly polarized emitters for practical organic light-emitting diodes remains a significant challenge.Here,a practical strategy has been proposed for developing deep-red circularly polarized delayed fluorescent emitters based on a novel chiral acceptor platform.By changing triphenylamine(TPA)substitution position from para to meta,R/S-M-TBBTCN demonstrated thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)properties with a delayed lifetime of 6.6µs that R/S-P-TBBTCN doesn’t have.Furthermore,R/S-M-TBBTCN showed a 65 nm red-shift in emission and a 10-fold enhancement in asymmetry factor(glum),compared with R/S-P-TBBTCN.The solution-processed nondoped circularly polarized organic light-emitting diodes(CP-OLEDs)based on R-M-TBBTCN display deep-red emission and 2.2%external quantum efficiency. 展开更多

Circularly polarized organic light-emitting diode(CP-OLED) has attracted increasing interest for its efficient ability to generate circularly polarized light directly. So far, many CP-OLEDs were successfully fabricated with chiral emitters or chiral hosts. In this study, a new strategy based on chiral electron transporting layer is proposed to construct CP-OLEDs. A pair of chiral electron transporting materials, 1,3,5-tris((R/S)-4-isopropyl-4,5-dihydrooxazol-2-yl)benzene((R/S)-TOx^(i)Pr), are firstly designed and synthesized. The crystalline films of(R/S)-TOx^(i)Pr show circularly polarized photoluminescence with photoluminescence dissymmetry factors of-0.067 and +0.041, respectively. The CP-OLEDs based on(R/S)-TOx^(i)Pr and three types of achiral emitters all exhibit circularly polarized electroluminescence, showing feasibility and strong versatility of this new strategy. The mechanism is attributed to in-situ electrical excitation instead of simply light filtering of non-circularly polarized light. This work demonstrates a new approach for realizing circularly polarized electroluminescence which may provide a valuable strategy to develop CP-OLEDs. 展开更多

Chirality is an important natural characteristic of organic molecules,and chiral organic molecules have shown extensive application in areas such as pharmaceutical development and material science.Benefiting from the ability to achieve circularly polarized luminescence(CPL),chiral luminescent materials have shown potential applications in anti-glare display,optical communication and,3D display,etc.Due to the ability to harvest both singlet and triplet excitons by a fast reverse intersystem crossing process without involving noble metals,chiral thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)materials with point chirality,axial chirality,planar chirality and helical chirality are regarded as the state-of-the-art materials for circularly polarized organic light-emitting diodes(CP-OLEDs).In recent years,the chiral TADF materials and CP-OLEDs have rapidly developed,but unfortunately,the dissymmetry factors(g)are far from the requirement of practical applications.The ideal emitters and devices should have both high efficiency and a g factor,or at least a balance between these two elements.This review gives an overview of recent progress in chiral TADF materials,with a particular focus on the chiral skeleton,CPL property and device performance.Furthermore,the molecular design concept,device structure and methods to improve the g factors of chiral materials and CP-OLEDs are also discussed. 展开更多

The inhibition effect of dimethylethanolamine(DMEA) and its composite with carboxylic acid was studied with the electrochemical tests. The experimental results indicate that DMEA is not a good inhibitor but the composite of DMEA with caprylic acid exhibits excellent inhibiting efficiency. The synergic mechanism of the organic corrosion inhibitors(OCIs) was studied with quantum chemical calculations. It is found that the DMEA forms a quaternary ammonium salt with the proton in carboxylic acid, and a cyclic complex formed between the salt and Fe may be responsible for the enhancement of inhibiting efficiency. The possible hydrogen bond formed between DMEA and carboxylic acid is not enough for the inhibiting effect. This work is helpful to proposing theoretical interpretation as well as developing a functional organic inhibitor to improve the durability of reinforced concrete contaminated with chloride. 展开更多

Helicene-based emitters with unique inherent circularly polarized luminescence(CPL)are promising yet remain a formidable challenge for highly efficient circularly polarized organic light-emitting diodes(CP-OLEDs),ascribed to their tough synthesis,low emission efficiency,and easy racemization in the thermal deposition process.Herein,a pair of helicenebased enantiomers,namely(P)-helicene-BN and(M)-helicene-BN,were developed,which merge helical chirality and the B/N/S inserted polycyclic aromatic framework to concurrently feature CPL and narrow thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)characteristics.Benefiting from the excellent thermal/photophysical/chiroptical properties,the narrowband green CP-OLEDs based on enantiomers achieved maximum external quantum efficiencies(EQE_(max))of up to 31.5%,and dissymmetry factor(|g_(EL)|)of 2.2×10^(−3).This work reveals the great potential of helicene-based emitters in CP-OLEDs. 展开更多

Naphthenic acids are a complex class of thousands of naturally occurring aliphatic and alicyclic carboxylic acids found in oil sands bitumen and in the wastewater generated from bitumen processing. Dozens of analytical methods have been developed for the semiquantification of total naphthenic acids in water samples. However, different methods can give different results, prompting investigation into the comparability of the many methods. A review of important methodological features for analyzing total naphthenic acids is presented and informs the design of future standard methods for the semi- quantification of total naphthenic acids using mass spectrometry. The design considerations presented are a synthesis of discussions from an Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) led taskforce of 10 laboratory experts from government, industry and academia during April 2016 and subsequent discussions between University of British Columbia and ECCC representatives. Matters considered are: extraction method, solvent, pH, and temperature; analysis instrumentation and resolution; choice of calibration standards; use of surrogate and internal standards; and use of online or offline separation prior to analysis. The design considerations are amenable to both time-of-flight and Orbitrap mass spectrometers. 展开更多
