Following along with South Korean Pop culture sweeping across Chinese Mainland, Chinese market of South Korea tour is developing rapidly. An analysis demonstrates that the movie and television industry of South Korea is one of the most essential factors to attract the potential tourist from China. South Korean Pop culture is directly affecting rather the image of South Korean as a tourist destination than tourists' purchasing. And the paper suggests a set of "4S" strategy for South Korean to combine the elements of South Korean movies with those of tourism, so as to create an industrial development pattern characterized as "movies + tourism". 展开更多

Nowadays Chinese have become much more open and willing to welcome and embrace Western culture, and therefore English plays an important role in Chinese pop culture. This paper intends to analyze the role of English in Chinese advertisements, movies and TV shows, which are shown in China's Mainland, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Findings show that English is pervasively used in Chinese commercials in both China's Mainland and Taiwan. Unlike the situations in Taiwan, English is always used in combination with Chinese subtitles in China's Mainland, most international commercials are re-produced to be more applicable to local Chinese communities, and the strategy of advertising is different. In Hong Kong movies, Hong Kong English is used frequently, which gives the evidence that the language mixing behavior is popular in Hong Kong. 展开更多

The aim is to examine Lady Gaga’s revolution regarding gender, sexuality, and politics with the focus on her songs, videos, and live performances. The main argument indicates that Gaga’s pursuit of an enduring cultural presence is a response to hypermodern pressures not as the girl-next-door.Her elaborate performances and sartorial experimentation are deployed to create visual impressions that generate greater spectacles. The making of the hypermodern memory is complemented by the attempt to link herself to categories of Otherness as a celebration of the monster or the misfit in various manifestations, which builds a sense of subcultural membership among fans. 展开更多
