The power capture performance of an adaptive bistable point absorber wave energy converter(WEC)in irregular waves is investigated in this paper.Based on the linear potential flow theory and Cummins equations, the equation of motion for the WEC is established in time domain. Then a parametric study is performed on the power capture performance of the WEC by considering the influences of different wave and system parameters such as the spring combination parameter, the stiffness of auxiliary springs and main springs, the original length value of the main spring, damping coefficient of the PTO systems and the significant wave height. The results show that in an irregular wave, each parameter will have a certain impact on the performance of the device.Appropriate device parameters need to be selected according to actual environmental parameters to ensure that the adaptive bistable WEC has better power capture performance than its linear and conventional bistable counterparts. 展开更多

Addressing the insufficiency in down-regulation leeway within integrated energy systems stemming from the erratic and volatile nature of wind and solar renewable energy generation, this study focuses on formulating a coordinated strategy involving the carbon capture unit of the integrated energy system and the resources on the load storage side.A scheduling model is devised that takes into account the confidence interval associated with renewable energy generation, with the overarching goal of optimizing the system for low-carbon operation. To begin with,an in-depth analysis is conducted on the temporal energy-shifting attributes and the low-carbon modulation mechanisms exhibited by the source-side carbon capture power plant within the context of integrated and adaptable operational paradigms.Drawing from this analysis,a model is devised to represent the adjustable resources on the charge-storage side, predicated on the principles of electro-thermal coupling within the energy system.Subsequently, the dissimilarities in the confidence intervals of renewable energy generation are considered, leading to the proposition of a flexible upper threshold for the confidence interval.Building on this,a low-carbon dispatch model is established for the integrated energy system, factoring in the margin allowed by the adjustable resources. In the final phase,a simulation is performed on a regional electric heating integrated energy system. This simulation seeks to assess the impact of source-load-storage coordination on the system’s low-carbon operation across various scenarios of reduction margin reserves. The findings underscore that the proactive scheduling model incorporating confidence interval considerations for reduction margin reserves effectively mitigates the uncertainties tied to renewable energy generation.Through harmonized orchestration of source, load, and storage elements,it expands the utilization scope for renewable energy, safeguards the economic efficiency of system operations under low-carbon emission conditions, and empirically validates the soundness and efficacy of the proposed approach. 展开更多

This study proposed a wave power system with two coaxial floating cylinders of different diameters and drafts.Wavebob’s conceptual design has been adopted in the wave power system. In this study,a basic analysis of the wave energy extraction by the relative motion between two floats is presented. The maximum power absorption was studied theoretically under regular wave conditions, and the effects of both linear and constant damping forces on the power take-off(PTO)were investigated.A set of dynamic equations describing the floats’displacement under regular waves and different PTOs are established.A time-domain numerical model is developed, considering the PTO parameter and viscous damping, and the optimal PTO damping and output power are obtained. With the analysis of estimating the maximum power absorption,a new estimation method called Power Capture Function(PCF)is proposed and constructed, which can be used to predict the power capture under both linear and constant PTO forces.Based on this, energy extraction is analyzed and optimized. Finally, the performance characteristics of the two-body power system are concluded. 展开更多

Flexible gas power plants are subject to energy storage, peak regulations, and greenhouse gas emissions. This study proposes an integrated power generation system that combines liquid air energy storage(LAES),liquefied natural gas(LNG)cold energy utilization, gas power systems, and CO_(2) capture and storage(CCS)technologies, named the LAES-LNG-CCS system. The off-peak electricity can be stored in liquid air.During the peak period, air and gas turbines generate supplementary electricity. Both LNG chemical energy and cold energy were considered:the former was used for gas power plants, and the latter was used for LAES regasification and CCS processes.Based on the thermodynamic analysis,we evaluated the effects of the recovery pressure,CCS pressure, and combustion temperature on the system power consumption and efficiency. The results demonstrated that the system recovery pressure,CCS pressure, and combustion temperature had the greatest effects on system power generation.Round-trip efficiency(RTE)was significantly affected by combustion temperature. The largest exergy loss occurred in the gas power plant. The optimal system operating ranges of the system recovery pressure,CCS pressure, and combustion temperature were 6−10 MPa,0.53−0.8 MPa,and 1,503−1,773 K,where the RTEs and𝜂Ex,RS reached 55%−58.98%and 74.6%−76%,respectively.The proposed system can simultaneously achieve the synergistic functions of large-scale energy storage, multilevel energy utilization, peak regulation, and carbon emission reduction. It can also be widely used in advanced distributed energy storage applications in the future. 展开更多
