Power system has many complex optimization problems one of which is the optimal power flow (OPF). Basically, it is minimizing optimization problem and subjected to many complex objective functions and constraints. Hence, firefly algorithm is used to solve OPF in this paper. The aim of the firefly is to optimize the control variables, namely generated real power, voltage magnitude and tap setting of transformers. A dynamic topology optimization method of bi-material plate structures is presented based on power flow analysis. Topology optimization problems formulated directly with the design objective of minimizing the power flow response are dealt with. In comparison to the displacement or velocity response, the power flow response takes not only the amplitude of force and velocity into account, but also the phase relationship of the two vector quantities. The complex expression of power flow response is derived based on time-harmonic external mechanical loading and Rayleigh damping. The mathematical formulation of topology optimization is established based on power flow response and bi-material solid isotropic material with penalization(SIMP) model. Computational optimization procedure is developed by using adjoint design sensitivity analysis and the method of moving asymptotes(MMA). Several numerical examples are presented for bi-material plate structures with different loading frequencies, which verify the feasibility and effectiveness of this method. Additionally, optimum results between topological design of minimum power flow response and minimum dynamic compliance are compared, showing that the present method has strong adaptability for structural dynamic topology optimization problems. The proposed research provides a more accurate and effective approach for dynamic topology optimization of vibrating structures.展开更多

There are two kinds of power flowing through the EMCVT, one is mechanical power and the other is electric power. In the mean time, there are three power ports in the EMCVT, one is the outer rotor named mechanical power port and the other two are the inner rotor and the stator named electric power ports. The mechanical power port is connected to the driving wheels through the final gear and the electric ports are connected to the batteries through the transducers. The two kinds of power are coupled on the outer rotor of the EMCVT. The EMCVT can be equipped on the conventional vehicle being regarded as the CVT and it also can be equipped on the hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) as the multi-energy sources assembly. The power flows of these two kinds of applications are analysed. The back electromotive force(EMF) equations are illatively studied and so the dynamic mathematic model is theorized. In order to certify the feasibility of the above theories, three simulations are carried out in allusion to the above two kinds of mentioned applications of the EMCVT and a five speed automatic transmission(AT) vehicle. The simulation results illustrate that the efficiency of the EMCVT vehicles is higher than that of the AT vehicle owed to the optimized operation area of the engine. Hence the fuel consumption of the EMCVT vehicles is knock-down.展开更多

Hysteretic damping having significant relationship with power flow is added and corresponding theoretical formulas of the dispersion relation are derived. Besides, the power flow in the hybrid structure is calculated by using the finite element method. The results show that as the damping increases, the boundaries of the band gaps become smoother and dimmer, i.e., broader width. With the increase of damping, the power flow is lowered at the resonance frequencies, while slightly increases near the resonance frequencies. The power flow maps manifest energy distribution in the hybrid structure within and out of the band gaps, which can be exploited in the optimization of the structure design.展开更多

The large amount of CO2 emissions in the power industry is a major source of global warming effect. An efficient and economic approach to reduce CO2 emissions is to formulate the emission reduction problem as emission dispatch problem and combined with power system economic dispatch (ED). Because the traditional optimal power flow (OPF) model used by the economic dispatch is nonlinear and nonconvex, current nonlinear solvers are not able to find the global optimal solutions. In this paper, we use the convex optimal power flow model to formulate the combined economic and emission dispatch problem. The advantage of using convex power flow model is that global optimal solutions can be obtained by using mature industrial strength nonlinear solvers such as MOSEK. Numerical results of various IEEE power network test cases confirm the feasibility and advantage of convex combined economic and emission dispatch (CCEED).展开更多

The power flow input and transmitted in the complicated compound system are then formulated in closed forms, in which the coupling between the raft and the foundation is considered . The effect of the raft flexibili- ty on power flow spectra is also revcaled. This study shows that it may lead to an overoptimistic evaluation to the effectiveness of the raft isolation when simplifying the raft to an ideal rigid struc- ture. Thereby, the reliable estimation and effective design for raft isolation system are provided.
文摘A new concept, namely, the equivalent mobility matrix of coupling subsystem is proposed, and the corresponding threesubsystem coupling progressive approach is explored. With the new efficient approach presented, the complexity in dealing with a more complicated dynamic coupling system is greatly reduced. The new modeling method is then combined with the theory of power flow to investigate the dynamics of the overall non rigid isolation system from the viewpoint of energy. The interaction between the resilient machine of its main modes and the resonant behavior of the flexible foundation on power flow transmission is studied. Taking a machine tool mounted on a multi story working plant as an example, the dynamic characteristics of the machine foundation coupling system are analyzed, and their effects on power flow transmission are revealed under various service frequency bands. Some advisable control strategies and the design principle for machinery mounted on flexible structure are proposed.
文摘This paper addresses the problem of reducing CO2 emissions by applying convex optimal power flow model to the combined economic and emission dispatch problem. Numerical results of various IEEE power network test cases confirm the feasibility and advantage of convex combined economic and emission dispatch (CCEED).
文摘The power consumption is rapidly increased due to ASD(Adjustable Speed Drives)and automation in industries and large consumption of electricity in domestic regions increased the concern of the power quality. The quality of the power received in the distribution system is altered because of the losses in the transmission system. The losses in the transmission system are mitigated using the FACTS(Flexible AC Transmission System)controller, among these controllers UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controller)plays a vital role in controlling the shunt and series reactive powers in the bus of the power system. The conventional topology of the UPFC consists of AC-DC converter and energy stored in the DC link and DC-AC converter injected a voltage in series to the bus which is to be controlled.Whereas a new topology based on matrix converter can replace the dual converters and perform the required task. The construction of 2-bus,7-bus and IEEE-14-bus power system is designed and modeled.MC-UPFC(Matrix Converter Based Unified Power Flow Controller)is designed and constructed. The MC-UPFC is the rich topology in the FACTS which is capable of controlling both the transmission parameters simultaneously with the switching technique of direct power control by the smooth sliding control which gives less ripple in the injecting control parameters such as control voltage(Vc)and voltage angle(α).By implementing MC-UPFC the real and reactive power can be controlled simultaneously and independently. The control techniques were designed based on the PID(Proportional Integral Derivative)with sliding surface power control,FLC(Fuzzy Logic Controller)and ANN(Artificial Neural Network)and the performances of Vc andαof the controllers are investigated.Hence the sliding surface and relevant control switching state of the MC can be controlled by the FLC which gives the robust and autonomous decision made in the selection of the appropriate switching state for the effective real power control in the power system. The work has been carried out in the MATLAB Simulink simulator which gives the finest controlling features and simple design procedures and monitoring of the output.
