This robust method is comprehensive enough to describe the wave spectra even in extreme wave conditions and is superior to periodogranl method that is not suit'able to process comparatively short or intensively unsteady signals for its tremendous boundary effect and some inherent defects of FKF. Fortunately, the newly derived method for spectral estimation works fairly well, even though the sample data sets are very short and unsteady, and the reliability and efficiency of this spectral estimator have been preliminarily proved.展开更多

In this paper,we introduce a new four-parameter version of the traditional Weibull distribution.It is able to provide seven shapes of hazard rate,including constant,decreasing,increasing,unimodal,bathtub,unimodal then...In this paper,we introduce a new four-parameter version of the traditional Weibull distribution.It is able to provide seven shapes of hazard rate,including constant,decreasing,increasing,unimodal,bathtub,unimodal then bathtub,and bathtub then unimodal shapes.Some basic characteristics of the proposedmodel are studied,including moments,entropies,mean deviations and order statistics,and its parameters are estimated using the maximum likelihood approach.Based on the asymptotic properties of the estimators,the approximate confidence intervals are also taken into consideration in addition to the point estimators.We examine the effectiveness of the maximum likelihood estimators of the model’s parameters through simulation research.Based on the simulation findings,it can be concluded that the provided estimators are consistent and that asymptotic normality is a good method to get the interval estimates.Three actual data sets for COVID-19,engineering and blood cancer are used to empirically demonstrate the new distribution’s usefulness inmodeling real-world data.The analysis demonstrates the proposed distribution’s ability in modeling many forms of data as opposed to some of its well-known sub-models,such as alpha powerWeibull distribution.展开更多

In the application of cancellous bone ultrasound diagnosis based on backscattering method, it is of great importance to estimate fast and accurately whether the valid backscattering signal exists in the received signa...In the application of cancellous bone ultrasound diagnosis based on backscattering method, it is of great importance to estimate fast and accurately whether the valid backscattering signal exists in the received signal. We propose a fast estimation method based on spectrum entropy method. With 984 records of adult calcaneus clinical data, we estimate the validity of the backscatter signal using this method. The results of the proposed method and the results of experience-base judgement were compared and analyzed. And two key parameters, the signal range length and the segment number of the spectrum entropy, were analyzed. The results show when the signal range length is 13 I^s and the segment number is 15 20, this method can get the best result (accuracy〉95%, sensitivity〉99%, specificity〉87%), while taking little calculation time (1.5 ms). Therefore, this spectrum entropy method can satisfy the accuracy and real-time requirements in the ultrasonic estimation for cancellous bone.展开更多
The dynamic performances of an ultra-precision fly cutting machine tool(UFCMT)has a dramatic impact on the quality of ultra-precision machining.In this study,the dynamic model of an UFCMT was established based on the ...The dynamic performances of an ultra-precision fly cutting machine tool(UFCMT)has a dramatic impact on the quality of ultra-precision machining.In this study,the dynamic model of an UFCMT was established based on the transfer matrix method for multibody systems.In particular,the large-span scale flow field mesh model was created;and the variation in linear and angular stiffness of journal and thrust bearings with respect to film thickness was investigated by adopting the dynamic mesh technique.The dynamic model was proven to be valid by comparing the dynamic characteristics of the machine tool obtained by numerical simulation with the experimental results.In addition,the power spectrum density estimation method was adopted to simulate the statistical ambient vibration excitation by processing the ambient vibration signal measured over a long period of time.Applying it to the dynamic model,the dynamic response of the tool tip under ambient vibration was investigated.The results elucidated that the tool tip response was significantly affected by ambient vibration,and the isolation foundation had a good effect on vibration isolation.展开更多
A combined-cycle power plant (CCPP) is broadly utilized in many countries to cover energy demand due to its higher efficiency than other conventional power plants. The performance of a CCPP is highly sensitive to ambi...A combined-cycle power plant (CCPP) is broadly utilized in many countries to cover energy demand due to its higher efficiency than other conventional power plants. The performance of a CCPP is highly sensitive to ambient air temperature (AAT) and the generated power varies widely during the year with temperature fluctuations. To have an accurate estimation of power generation, it is necessary to develop a model to predict the average monthly power of a CCPP considering ambient temperature changes. In the present work, the Monte Carlo (MC) method was used to obtain the average generated power of a CCPP. The case study was a combined-cycle power plant in Tehran, Iran. The region’s existing meteorological data shows significant fluctuations in the annual ambient temperature, which severely impact the performance of the mentioned plant, causing a stochastic behavior of the output power. To cope with this stochastic nature, the probability distribution of monthly outdoor temperature for 2020 was determined using the maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) method to specify the range of feasible inputs. Furthermore, the plant was accurately simulated in THERMOFLEX to capture the generated power at different temperatures. The MC method was used to couple the ambient temperature fluctuations to the output power of the plant, modeled by THERMOFLEX. Finally, the mean value of net power for each month and the average output power of the system were obtained. The results indicated that each unit of the system generates 436.3 MW in full load operation. The average deviation of the modeling results from the actual data provided by the power plant was an estimated 3.02%. Thus, it can be concluded that this method helps achieve an estimation of the monthly and annual power of a combined-cycle power plant, which are effective indexes in the economic analysis of the system.展开更多
