There are amounts of issues to be resolved in the process of designing the fiber placement trajectory of the cylindrical component,such as the interference between the machine and the component and the over-travel of the axis of rotation on the fiber placement head.When the pressure on the cylinder surface inclines in a certain direction or at an angle within the normal plane,the motion characteristics of the rotation axis will be different.This paper analyzes the pressure angle effect of the concave cylinder surface on the motion features of a fiber placement machine.The placement area is enlarged by tilting pressure with the same lifting stroke,which is significant in preventing interference and selecting post-processing algorithm. 展开更多

Based on the study of the meshing theory of the Hy-Vo silent chain with the sprocket and the roll cutting machining principle of the sprocket with the hob, the proper conditions of the meshing for the Hy-Vo silent chain and the sprocket are put forward with the variable pitch characteristic of the Hy-Vo silent chain taken into consideration, and the proper meshing design method on the condition that the value of the link tooth pressure angle is unequal to the value of the sprocket tooth pressure angle is studied. Experiments show that this new design method is feasible. In addition, the design of the pitch, the sprocket tooth pressure angle and the fillet radius of the sprocket addendum circle are studied. It is crucial for guiding the design of the hob which cuts the Hy-Vo silent chain sprocket. 展开更多

Cylindrical cam with oscillating follower is widely applicable and used in many mechanical devices and machines. However, a common error exists in the methods of designing planar profile for oscillating follower cylinder cam. In this study, we propose a new hypothesis to solve this design problem with the inclusion of deviation angle. On the basis of this new concept, equations for planar profile expansion and methods of calculating pressure angle are deduced by applying 3D expansion formula of the follower's motion orbit. When the pressure angle is less than allowable value, the minimum base radius can be determined by using MATLAB software. Accordingly, the planar profile of oscillating follower cylinder cam is generated by CAD software. This new method is practical and can be easily adopted for the design of oscillating follower cylindrical cam with desirable accuracy. We applied the method in the design of cylindrical cam for paper feeding mechanism used in high-speed printers. We calculated the planar profile and used it to direct the NC machine for the manufacture of the groove of cylindrical cam. The improved cylindrical cam met all of the requirements of speed and accuracy demanded by high-speed printers. Therefore, our new method has been validated by practical application. 展开更多

AIM: To explore the pathogenesis of asymmetric primary open angle glaucoma(POAG) in both eyes by comparing the intraocular pressure(IOP) of patients who sleep in different positions and to investigate the relationship between IOP variations and sleep positions.METHODS: One hundred and thirty-one patients with asymmetric POAG and forty-six healthy volunteers were enrolled. All participants completed a questionnaire that provided information about their sleep laterality. The cup disc ratio(C/D) and visual field defect established binocular asymmetry. The IOP of both eyes was measured using i Care parameters after the patients were asked to change body position. The "worse" and "better" eyes were identified according to the diagnosis, whereas the "dependent" and "independent" eyes were defined according to the lateral position. RESULTS: No significant difference in sleep laterality was observed between healthy people and patients with POAG(F=3.195, P=0.362). Among the enrolled patients, the IOP of the dependent eye was always greater than that of the independent eye in the lateral position(P〈0.05). In the patients with binocular asymmetric POAG, the questionnaire clearly showed that 85.7% of left side preferences were found their left eyes to be the worse eyes and the right eyes of 71.4% patients with a right side preference were the more serious. When the asymmetric C/D ratio was greater than or equal to 0.2, the worse eye of patients with POAG and a preferred sleeping position was the dependent eye(χ~2=16.762, P=0.001).CONCLUSION: A higher IOP was measured in the dependent eye in the lateral position. The long-term tendency to choose a lateral sleeping position might lead the dependent eye to manifest more severe symptoms than the independent eye. Thus, the lateral sleeping position might be one cause of asymmetric POAG. 展开更多

Ocular biometry readings between two groups were compared and analyzed statistically, lntraocular pressure was also recorded before and after lens extraction. Results Anterior chamber depth was shallower in patients with angle closure glaucoma group [ ( 1, 79 ± 0. 56 ) mm ] compared with senile cataract group [ (2.69 ±0. 40) mm ] ( P 〈 0.01 ). Lens thickness was greater in angle closure glaucoma group [ (5.30 ±0. 61) mm ] than that in senile cataract group [ (3.84 +-0. 61) mm ] ( P 〈0. 01). Phacoemusification was performed in 5 patients with persistent acute attack of angle closure glaucoma, lOPs were controlled in all five cases after lens extraction. Conclusion Eyes with angle closure glaucoma seems to have significantly shallow anterior chamber and greater lens thickness compared to senile cataract eyes in the same age. Lens extraction might be effective in those cases with such anatomy features. 展开更多

Dense gas-solid flows show significantly higher stresses compared with dilute flows, mainly attributable to particle-particle friction in dense particle flows. Several models developed have considered particle-particle friction; however, they generally underestimate its effect in dense regions of the gas-solid system, leading to unrealistic predictions in their flow patterns. Recently, several attempts have been made to formulate such flows and the impact of particle-particle friction on predicting flow patterns based on modified frictional viscosity models by including effects of bulk density changes on frictional pressure of the solid phase. The solid-wall boundary is also expected to have considerable effect on friction because particulate phases generally slip over the solid surface that directly affects particle-particle frictional forces. Polydispersity of the solid phase also leads to higher friction between particles as more particles have sustained contact in polydispersed systems. Their effects were investi- gated by performing CFD simulations of particle settlement to calculate the slope angle of resting material of non-cohesive particles as they settle on a solid surface. This slope angle is directly affected by frictional forces and may be a reasonably good measure of frictional forces between particles. The calculated slope angle, as a measure of frictional forces inside the system are compared with experimental values of this slope angle as well as simulation results from the literature. 展开更多

The cutter systems of hypoid gear cutting machines contain groups of inside and outside blades.In these cutter systems,the side cutting edges of the blades machine the convex and concave gear teeth while rotating about the cutter rotation axis.The side cutting edges lay on the rake face formed through the blade,rake,and relief angles;hence,the normal cross-section of the cutter swept surface forms hyperboloid gear teeth.Using the accurate geometry of the cutter system,a relationship between the pressure and spiral angles of the gear tooth and the parameters of the cutter system is developed for the FORMAT machining of a hypoid gear.A new parameterization of the gear tooth surfaces is introduced to determine these angles for the accurate gear tooth by the accurate cutter system.A numerical example with different cutter systems and blade parameters is presented,demonstrating the effects of rake and relief angles over the pressure and spiral angles on mea n point projections and gear tooth surface.Finally,the change in pressure and spiral angles with respect to the rake and relief angles are plotted,and the results are analyzed.Finally,it is concluded that the pressure and spiral angles are changed up to a few seconds of a degree in the operating area of the tooth with the change in the back and side rake angles.The side relief angle exhibited little or no effect over the geometry of the gear tooth. 展开更多

Effects of Rising Angle on Upstream Blades and Intermediate Turbine Duct

With the improvement of requirement,design and manufacture technology,aero-engines for the future are characterized by further reduction in fuel consumption,cost,but increment in propulsion efficiency,which leads to ultra-high bypass ratio.The intermediate turbine duct(ITD),which connects the high pressure turbine(HPT) with the low pressure turbine(LPT),has a critical impact on the overall performances of such future engines.Therefore,it becomes more and more urgent to master the design technique of aggressive,even super-aggressive ITDs.Over the last years,a lot of research works about the flow mechanism in the diffuser ducts were carried out.Many achievements were reported,but further investigation should be performed.With the aid of numerical method,this paper focuses on the change of performance and flow field of ITD,as well as nearby turbines,brought by rising angle(RA).Eight ITDs with the same area ratio and length,but different RAs ranges from 8 degrees to 45 degrees,are compared.According to the investigation,flow field,especially outlet Ma of swirl blade is influenced by RA under potential effect,which is advisable for designers to modify HPT rotor blades after changing ITD.In addition to that,low velocity area moves towards upstream until the first bend as RA increases,while pressure loss distribution at S2 stream surface shows that hub boundary layer is more sensitive to RA,and casing layer keeps almost constant.On the other hand,the overall total pressure loss could keep nearly equivalent among different RA cases,which implies the importance of optimization. 展开更多
