The flexible pressure sensor has been credited for leading performance including higher sensitivity, faster response/recovery,wider detection range and higher mechanical durability, thus driving the development of novel sensing materials enabled by new processing technologies.Using atomic layer infiltration,Pt nanocrystals with dimensions on the order of a few nanometers can be infiltrated into the compressible lamellar structure of Ti3C2Tx MXene, allowing a modulation of its interlayer spacing, electrical conductivity and piezoresistive property. The flexible piezoresistive sensor is further developed from the Pt-infiltrated MXene on a paper substrate. It is demonstrated that Pt infiltration leads to a significant enhancement of the pressure-sensing performance of the sensor, including increase of sensitivity from 0.08 kPa^(-1)to 0.5 kPa^(-1),extension of detection limit from 5 kPa to 9 kPa,decrease of response time from 200 ms to 20 ms,and reduction of recovery time from 230 ms to 50 ms.The mechanical durability of the flexible sensor is also improved, with the piezoresistive performance stable over 1000 cycles of flexure fatigue. The atomic layer infiltration process offers new possibilities for the structure modification of MXene for advanced sensor applications. 展开更多

In order to understand the effect of mining height and floor lithology at the upper protective layer face on the pressure relief of protected coal seams, this paper uses a numerical simulation method to model the pressure changes at protected coal seam during mining upper protective layer. The results show that the taller the mining height at the upper protective layer face, the greater the protection on protected coal seam due to the higher level of pressure release; the upper protective layer face with hard rock floor impedes the pressure release at the protected coal seam, which affects the overall effect of the pressure release at protected coal seam using the protective layer mining method. 展开更多

The samples cut from U75V 60 kg/m heavy rail are heated to 900 ℃ in resistance furnace and then put into air spraying channel to be cooled for 80 s, and change air pressure from 0.16 MPa to 0.33 MPa, and observe the effect of air pressure on hardened layer. The thickness and hardness of hardened layer increases with the increase of air pressure, and the thickness is more than 24 mm at the center and top fillets of rail head, and more than 15 mm at the blow fillets of rail head when air pressure is more than 0.26 MPa. During the tempering after heat treatment, tempering temperature of rail head is more than 570 ℃ when air pressure is separately 0.16 MPa, 0.20 MPa and 0.23 MPa, which is higher than finishing temperature of pearlite transformation at the cooling rate of 3 ℃/s according to CCT curve of U75V steel. When air pressure is separately 0.26, 0.30 and 0.33 MPa, the tempering temperature is 529 ℃ lower than finishing temperature of pearlite transformation at the cooling rate of 3 ℃/s. Under this condition, pearlite transformation is finished totally, so in order to reduce air consumption and control the cost, proper air pressure for U75V 60 kg/m heavy rail heat treating should be 0.26 MPa; the cooling rate increases with the increase of air pressure, and the average cooling rate on the surface of rail head is more than 3.21 ℃/s when air pressure is more than 0.26 MPa, and the largest cooling rate occurs at the top fillets of rail head. 展开更多

Natural frequency characteristics of a thin-walled multiple layered cylindrical shell under lateral pressure are studied. The multiple layered cylindrical shell configuration is formed by three layers of isotropic material where the inner and outer layers are stainless steel and the middle layer is aluminum. The multiple layered shell equations with lateral pressure are established based on Love's shell theory. The governing equations of motion with lateral pressure are employed by using energy functional and applying the Ritz method. The boundary conditions represented by end conditions of the multiple layered cylindrical shell are simply supported-clamped(SS-C), free-clamped(F-C) and simply supported-free(SS-F). The influence of different lateral pressures, different thickness to radius ratios, different length to radius ratios and effect of the asymmetric boundary conditions on natural frequency characteristics are studied. It is shown that the lateral pressure has effect on the natural frequency of multiple layered cylindrical shell and causes the natural frequency to increase. The natural frequency of the developed multilayered cylindrical shell is validated by comparing with those in the literature. The proposed research provides an effective approach for vibration analysis shell structures subjected to lateral pressure with an energy method. 展开更多

Energy method for the vibration of two types of cylindrical shells, namely thin-walled homogeneous isotropic and manifold layered isotropic cylindrical shells under uniform external lateral pressure is presented. The study is carried out based on strain-displacement relationship from Love's shell theory with beam functions as axial modal function.A manifold layered cylindrical shell configuration is formed by three layers of isotropic material where the inner and outer layers are stainless steel and the middle layer is aluminum. The homogeneous cylindrical shell is made-up of isotropic one layer with stainless steel. The governing equations with uniform external lateral pressure for homogeneous isotropic and manifold layered isotropic cylindrical shells are obtained using energy functional by the Lagrangian function with Rayleigh-Ritz method. The boundary conditions that are presented at the end conditions of the cylindrical shell are simply supported-simply supported,clamped-clamped and free-free.The influences of uniform external lateral pressure and symmetrical boundary conditions on the natural frequency characteristics for both homogeneous and manifold layered isotropic cylindrical shells are examined. For all boundary conditions considered, the natural frequency of both cylindrical shells with symmetric uniform lateral pressure increases as h/R ratio increases and those considering natural frequency of the both cylindrical shells with symmetric uniform lateral pressure decrease as L/R ratio increases. 展开更多

AIM: To determine the effect of multiple injections of ranibizumab or bevacizumab on retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) and intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD). ·METHODS: This retrospective study includes 35 eyes of 35 patients treated with intravitreal bevacizumab (IVB, 1.25mg/0.05mL) and 30 eyes of 30 patients with intravitreal ranibizumab (IVR, 0.5mg/0.05mL) who had Fast RNFL analysis (Stratus TM ); IOP measurements were taken 30 minutes and 24 hours after each injection. RESULTS: The mean ages were 68.0±7.5 and 69.1±7.7 years in the IVR and IVB groups, respectively (P =0.55). They underwent (6.3±1.9) and (5.1±1.3) injections (P = 0.07) over (13.6±2.1) and (14.05±2.6) months (P =0.45) in the IVR and IVB groups, respectively. Changes in overall and temporal RNFL thickness in IVR-treated eyes (105.3± 6.9μm and 74.4±11.2μm) were not different from those in untreated eyes in the IVR group (104.6±8.4μm and 75.1±12.6μm) (P =0.57 and P =0.41, respectively). Similarly, overall and temporal RNFL thickness in IVB-treated eyes (105.8±8.1μm and 74.5±11.8μm) were not different from those in untreated eyes in the IVB group (104.6±8μm and 74.8±12.9μm) (P=0.42 and P=0.80, respectively). The frequencies of IOP rise (P=0.60) and changes in RNFL thickness from baseline (P =0.16) were comparable between groups. CONCLUSION: Repeated intravitreal injection of ranibizumab or bevacizumab does not seem have adverse effects on RNFL thickness or IOP in wet AMD patients. 展开更多

In order to understand the melting processes that occur within recycled oceanic crust and mantle in a heterogeneous plume (e.g., that beneath the Hawaiian Islands), a series of high-pressure-high-temperature layered experiments were performed at 2.9 GPa, 5 GPa, and 8 GPa, from 1300°C to 1650°C, using a fertile peridotite KLB-1 and N-MORB. Our experiments at conditions below the dry peridotite solidus produced melt compositions that ranged from basaltic andesite to tholeiite. An Opx reaction band formed between eclogite and peridotite layers, likely via chemical reaction between a silica-rich eclogite-derived partial melt and olivine in the peridotite matrix. At temperatures at or above the dry peridotite solidus, substantial melting occurred in both basalt and peridotite layers, and fully molten basalt melt and melt pockets from the peridotite layer combined. In our layered experiments, major and minor element contents in reacted melts closely matched those of Hawaiian tholeiite and picrite, except for Fe. Partial melts of anhydrous run products had ~55 - 57 wt% SiO2 at low temperature (i.e., were andesitic) and had ~50 - 53 wt% SiO2 at high temperatures, slightly below the dry peridotite solidus (i.e., were tholeiitic, and similar to those that occur during the Hawaii shield-building stage). Based on the Fe- and LREE-enriched signature in Hawaiian tholeiites, we propose that recycled components in the Hawaiian plume are not modern N-MORB, but are Fe-rich tholeiite;a lithology that was common in the Archaean and early Proterozoic. We have demonstrated that the entire compositional spectrum of Hawaiian tholeiites (basalt to picrite) can be formed by basalt-peridotite reactive melting near the dry solidus of peridotite. Based on these results, we propose that the potential temperature of the sub-Hawaiian plume may be much lower than previously estimated. 展开更多

A pressure swing adsorption (PSA) hydrogen purification model for the four-component gas (H_(2)/CO_(2)/CH_(4)/CO=73/16/8/3 mol%) in a layered bed packed with Cu-BTC and zeolite 5A was established to achieve better hydrogen purification performance.By comparing its simulation results with the experimental data, the adsorption isotherm model was validated and could be used to accurately describe the adsorption process of the gas mixture on the two adsorbents. The breakthrough curves of the mixed gas on the layered bed were studied to verify the correctness of the established simulation models.Based on the validated model, the performance of the PSA system based on the layered bed was carried out, including the hydrogen purity and recovery. The simulation results show that the hydrogen purification system based on the layered bed model can achieve hydrogen purity of 95.469% and hydrogen recovery of 83.219%.Moreover,a parametric study was carried out and its results show that reductions in feed flow rate and adsorption time result in an increase in hydrogen purity and a decrease in hydrogen recovery.A longer equalization time between the two adsorption beds can simultaneously increase the hydrogen purity and recovery. 展开更多

In this paper, a numerical study of flow in the turbulence boundary layer with adverse and pressure gradients (APGs) is conducted by using Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations. This research chooses six typical turbulence models, which are critical to the computing precision, and to evaluating the issue of APGs. Local frictional resistance coefficient is compared between numerical and experimental results. The same comparisons of dimensionless averaged velocity profiles are also performed. It is found that results generated by Wilcox (2006) k-co are most close to the experimental data. Meanwhile, turbulent quantities such as turbulent kinetic energy and Reynolds-stress are also studied. 展开更多

The effect of oxygen partial pressure (Po2) during the channel layer deposition on bias stability of amorphous indium-gallium-zinc oxide (a-IGZO) thin film transistors (TFTs) is investigated. As Po2 increases from 10% to 30%, it is found that the device shows enhanced bias stress stability with significantly reduced threshold voltage drift under positive gate bias stress. Based on the x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurement, the concentration of oxygen vacancies (Or) within the a-IGZO layer is suppressed by increasing Po2. Meanwhile, the low-frequency noise analysis indicates that the average trap density near the channel/dielectric interface continuously drops with increasing Po2. Therefore, the improved interface quality with increasing Po2 during the channel layer deposition can be attributed to the reduction of interface Ov-related defects, which agrees with the enhanced bias stress stability of the a-IGZO TFTs. 展开更多

It is widely accepted that in a turbulent boundary layer (TBL) with adverse pressure gradient (APG) an outer peak usually appears in the profile of streamwise Reynolds stress. However, the effect of APG on this outer peak is not clearly understood. In this paper, the effect of APG is analysed using the numerical and experimental results in the literature. Because the effect of upstream flow is inherent in the TBL, we first analyse this effect in TBLs with zero pressure gradient on flat plates. Under the individual effect of upstream flow, an outer peak already appears in the profile of streamwise Reynolds stress when the TBL continues developing in the streamwise direction. The APG accelerates the appearance of the outer peak, instead of being a trigger. 展开更多

Extensive efforts have been made to pursue a low-friction state with promising applications in many fields, such as mechanical and biomedical engineering.Among which, the load capacity of the low-friction state has been considered to be crucial for industrial applications. Here,we report a low friction under ultrahigh contact pressure by building a novel self-assembled fluorinated azobenzene layer on an atomically smooth highly-oriented pyrolytic graphite(HOPG)surface.Sliding friction coefficients could be as low as 0.0005 or even lower under a contact pressure of up to 4 GPa.It demonstrates that the low friction under ultrahigh contact pressure is attributed to molecular fluorination. The fluorination leads to effective and robust lubrication between the tip and the self-assembled layer and enhances tighter rigidity which can reduce the stress concentration in the substrate, which was verified by density functional theory(DFT)and molecular dynamics(MD)simulation. This work provides a new approach to avoid the failure of ultralow friction coefficient under relatively high contact pressure, which has promising potential application value in the future. 展开更多

Taking dodecanethiol as the representative, we investigated the corrosion inhibition performance of SAL in seawater under pressures from 0.1 to 9 MPa. By using scanning Kelvin probe, the dodecanethiol SAL is confirmed to build on Cu surface, and the modification of SAL has positively shifted the surface potential to realize the inertness. Electrochemical techniques, such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and potentiodynamic polarization were used to reveal the corrosion behavior of Cu modified by SAL under the different pressure, i e, 0.1, 3, 6, and 9 MPa. It is indicated that the longer modification time affords better corrosion resistance to Cu. Higher static pressure is easier to deteriorate the corrosion inhibition capability due to the penetration effect. A plausible mechanism is proposed to illustrate the degradation process of SAL in the high pressure seawater environment. 展开更多

The vertical two-dimensional non-hydrostatic pressure models with multiple layers can make prediction more accurate than those obtained by the hydrostatic pres- sure assumption. However, they are time-consuming and unstable, which makes them unsuitable for wider application. In this study, an efficient model with a single layer is developed. Decomposing the pressure into the hydrostatic and dynamic components and integrating the x-momentum equation from the bottom to the free surface can yield a horizontal momentum equation, in which the terms relevant to the dynamic pressure are discretized semi-implicitly. The convective terms in the vertical momentum equation are ignored, and the rest of the equation is approximated with the Keller-box scheme. The velocities expressed as the unknown dynamic pressure are substituted into the continuity equation, resulting in a tri-diagonal linear system solved by the Thomas algorithm. The validation of solitary and sinusoidal waves indicates that the present model can provide comparable results to the models with multiple layers but at much lower computation cost. 展开更多

Germanium diselenide(GeSe_(2))is a promising candidate for electronic devices because of its unique crystal structure and optoelectronic properties. However, the evolution of lattice and electronic structure ofβ-GeSe_(2)at high pressure is still uncertain. Here we prepared high-qualityβ-GeSe_(2)single crystals by chemical vapor transfer(CVT)technique and performed systematic experimental studies on the evolution of lattice structure and bandgap ofβ-GeSe_(2)under pressure.High-precision high-pressure ultra low frequency(ULF)Raman scattering and synchrotron angle-dispersive x-ray diffraction(ADXRD)measurements support that no structural phase transition exists under high pressure up to 13.80 GPa,but the structure ofβ-GeSe_(2)turns into a disordered state near 6.91 GPa and gradually becomes amorphous forming an irreversibly amorphous crystal at 13.80 GPa.Two Raman modes keep softening abnormally upon pressure. The bandgap ofβ-GeSe_(2)reduced linearly from 2.59 eV to 1.65 eV under pressure with a detectable narrowing of 36.5%,and the sample under pressure performs the piezochromism phenomenon. The bandgap after decompression is smaller than that in the atmospheric pressure environment, which is caused by incomplete recrystallization. These results enrich the insight into the structural and optical properties ofβ-GeSe_(2)and demonstrate the potential of pressure in modulating the material properties of two-dimensional(2D)Ge-based binary material. 展开更多

The wall-pressure field simulated by LES was analyzed to obtain the pressure statistics, including the wall-pressure root-mean square, skewness and flatness factors, which show the wall pressure distribution was not Gaussian. The profile of the auto-power spectral density and the contour of the streamwise wavenumber-frequency spectral density of wall-pressure were plotted.
