The development of information technology, especially the rise of online teaching platforms, has changed the way people read and the methods they use. Under this influence, primary school students’ independent reading has also been changed. However, due to limited self-control and understanding, primary school students face certain difficulties when using online teaching platforms for independent reading. Advantages and disadvantages of distance learning based on the network teaching platform were summarized in this paper. A one-year experiment study was carried out on our school fifth-grade students in independent reading using WeChat campus platform considering their current situation and existing problems of independent reading. In experiment study an independent reading mode was introduced. The results show that this reading mode can significantly improve students’ independent reading ability. 展开更多

The Gando Primary School project faces several challenges like extreme environmental constraints, resource scarcity, and design requirements. These challenges include the hot climate of Burkina Faso, economic underdevelopment, building material scarcity, and lack of electrical resources. To implement an architectural design for the classrooms that accommodates these difficulties, especially in the absence of an electrical system, architect Francis Kéréemployed various passive design strategies that can provide shelter from the rain and heat while achieving essential lighting levels and ventilation. This paper used Gando Primary School as the research object and utilized the parametric tools of Ladybug+Honeybee(L+H)to conduct numerical simulations and evaluations of the building’s daylighting, glare analysis, and indoor thermal comfort. The aim of this study is to investigate the application of passive design strategies in energy conservation under extreme environmental conditions, propose a parametric energy-saving evaluation strategy with L+H,and explore energy-saving design ideas in economically underdeveloped Third World countries. 展开更多

Curriculum quality is the foundation of education development and the core element of primary education and teaching. It is a key indicator to measure and evaluate the level of educational development in a country and region.Curriculum quality needs to be examined not only from the perspective of the degree of achievement of the preset curriculum goals, but also from the perspective of students’subjective feelings and experiences.Art course is the core service provided by the school for students, and the quality of the course is judged by the acquisition and development of students. At the same time, the value of aesthetic education also calls for the reform and improvement of the fine arts curriculum, which requires the fine arts curriculum in all stages in rural areas to get closer and change in this direction. After the promulgation of art curriculum standards, the fine arts curriculum of rural primary schools should follow high quality standards, which is a process of optimization and iteration of various elements of primary art curriculum. The fine arts curriculum of rural primary schools needs to meet the exploration needs of current students, effectively and appropriately develop excellent local resources while enriching the curriculum content, introduce the essence of regional culture and art, improve the evaluation of curriculum quality, and form a scientific curriculum management system,so as to promote the sustainable development of students.According to this understanding,we can improve the quality of art curriculum in rural primary schools from four dimensions:curriculum objectives, curriculum content, curriculum implementation, and curriculum evaluation. 展开更多

How to memorize words effectively has become a heated topic among teachers and students. Since primary school is the initial stage of English learning, it is imperative to cultivate students' interest in English and find a useful way of learning vocabulary. The study aims to prove that game teaching approach as a commonly used teaching approach can motivate students' interest and assist English teaching if it is combined with vocabulary teaching properly. In the study, 70 students of Grade four were randomly chosen from Wenzhou Jingshan primary school as the subjects, class 1as the experimental group while Class 2 as the control one. The results show that game teaching approach applied in English vocabulary teaching can help students learn vocabulary more efficiently than traditional vocabulary teaching method. 展开更多

Focusing on the peculiarities of urban construction resulting from specific mountain terrains, the purpose of this study is to find out a suitable method based on a Spatial Network Comprehensive Model(SNCM) to reasonably plan and distribute primary schools in low-income mountain cities. The construction principles and advantages of the SNCM method are proposed and the method tested in Wanyuan city of Qinba Mountain area(Southwest China) to verify its feasibility and optimization. Taking account of the mountain terrain and its influence on user behavior, we used the SNCM method to build a comprehensive model which integrates the road slope and the walking speed of pupils into the basic spatial model. The model is used to calculate a reasonable layout of the primary schools and to validate the rationale. The results show that the SNCM method can be effectively applied in low-income mountainous cities. It can not only improve the accessibility and service efficiency of primary schools using as little capital-investment as possible, but also help the city grow in an intensive and efficient way. 展开更多

The primary school system in Mexico is affected by serious shortfalls in the installation of related information and communication technologies resources in the teaching-learning process. This lack of resources has an impact of the context of the digital divide as well as in joining the knowledge society. The present article will deal with the outfitting of classrooms with the enciclomedia system in the 5tb and 6th grade in the State of Puebla. It will demonstrate important findings, demonstrating the deepening digital divide between the state capital and the rest of the municipalities in this state. In fact, the furthest (300 km far away from Puebla city) the less primary school equipped with the enciclomedia system. We will also demonstrate the resource distribution by school-type and inhabitants. Another finding is the influence in resource distribution by political party. This study should provide public policy decision-makers with valuable information for the apportionment of resources in all municipalities of the State of Puebla. 展开更多

An additional language, sign language was approved as an official language at the end of 2008. The Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and the South African Schools Act 84 of 1996 emphasise teaching and learning through any mother tongue, a learner would understand best. Section 29(1) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa categorically states that: "Everyone has the right to receive education in the official language or languages of their choice in public educational institutions where that education is reasonably practicable". However, most text books written in English have been prescribed at many schools. One is not certain whether the subjects are taught in English or in the indigenous language at these schools. In the end, those teachers use the mother tongue, together with English, in teaching learners. This result in code switching and code mixing takes place in classes, which are meant to facilitate communication across barriers of colour, language, and region, while creating an environment in which respect for languages other than one's own would be encouraged. Teaching and learning in one's mother tongue promotes full participation in the economy of the country. The aim of the paper is to investigate teaching and learning in Vhembe primary schools of the Limpopo Province in South Africa, within the framework of existing legislation. This will be compared with empirical evidence. The researcher seeks to establish what language(s) primary schools use for teaching and learning. Based on this, conclusions and recommendations will be made to assist stakeholders in language-in-education policy formulation. 展开更多
