The dynamic balance quality of a rotating object is an important factor to maintain the stability and accuracy for motion. The azimuth of the principal axis of inertia is a major sign of dynamic balance. A usual method is measuring moment of inertia matrix relative to some base coordinates on a rotary inertia machine so as to calculate the azimuth of principal axis of inertia, By using the measured unbalance results on the two trimmed planes on a vertical hard bearing double-plane dynamic balancing machine, the dimension and direction of couple unbalance can be found. An azimuth angle formula for the principal axis of inertia is derived and is solved by using unbalance quantities. The experiments indicate that method based on dynamic balancing measurement is proved rational and effective and has a fine precision. 展开更多

A novel multi-view 3D face registration method based on principal axis analysis and labeled regions orientation called local orientation registration is proposed.The pre-registration is achieved by transforming the multi-pose models to the standard frontal model's reference frame using the principal axis analysis algorithm.Some significant feature regions, such as inner and outer canthus, nose tip vertices, are then located by using geometrical distribution characteristics.These regions are subsequently employed to compute the conversion parameters using the improved iterative closest point algorithm, and the optimal parameters are applied to complete the final registration.Experimental results implemented on the proper database demonstrate that the proposed method significantly outperforms others by achieving 1.249 and 1.910 mean root-mean-square measure with slight and large view variation models, respectively. 展开更多

The mechanical properties of deep-sea sediments during the driving process of crawler collectors are essential factors in the design of mining systems.In this study,a crawler load is divided into a normal compression load and a horizontal shear load.Then,the internal stress state of sedimentary soil is examined through a theoretical calculation and finite element numerical simulation.Finally,the driving of crawlers is simulated by changing the relative spatial position between the load and stress unit,obtaining the stress path of the soil unit.Based on the calculation results,the effect of the horizontal shear load on the soil stress response is analyzed at different depths,and the spatial variation law of the soil stress path is examined.The results demonstrate that the horizontal shear load has a significant effect on the rotation of the principal stress,and the reverse rotation of the principal stress axis becomes obvious with the increase in the burial depth.The stress path curve of the soil is different at various depths.The spatial variation rule of the stress path of the shallow soil is complex,whereas the stress path curve of the deep soil tends to shrink as the depth increases.The stress path of the corresponding depth should be selected according to the actual research purpose and applied to the laboratory test. 展开更多

Yunnan Province, Chin4 earthquake. Waveforms of long-period bodywaves recorded by China Digital Seismograph Network (CDSN) were used in the inversion. The inverted resultshows one nodal plane of right-lateral strike-slip faulting and another of left-lateral strike-slip faulting and a simplesource time function of a duration of about 15 s and scalar seismic moment of 6.4x 102oN-N-m From the geologicaldata and tectonic settings and also from field observations and epicentral distribution of aftershocks, the nodalplane striking in the azimuth of 313° is preferred as the fault plane. Based on Hertz theory of elastic contact and the design theory of ball bearings, a new type of rolling coupling was designed. The two halves of the rolling coupling can be moved relatively by a small axial force when a great moment is exerted on it. The rolling coupling was used to connect the principal axis and the decelerator of continuous extrusion machine and it can greatly decrease the harmful axial forces on the continuous machine. The engineering formulas for the contact stress and distance of apporach of the rolling elements were deduced and the method for designing the rolling couplings was proposed. The formulas for the forces exerted on the rolling element were verified by the experiment. 展开更多
