Application of the Langmuir probe in plasma circumstance for deposition of diamond-like carbon (DLC) thin films usually faces the problem of rapid failure of the probe due to surface insulative coating. In this pape...Application of the Langmuir probe in plasma circumstance for deposition of diamond-like carbon (DLC) thin films usually faces the problem of rapid failure of the probe due to surface insulative coating. In this paper, we circumvent the problem by using the floating harmonic probe technique. In the real circumstance of DLC film deposition, the floating harmonic probe worked reliably over 3 hours, correctly indicating the ion density and electron temperature. The technique was practically used to measure the ion density and electron temperature in DLC film deposition processes using the microwave ECR plasma enhanced sputtering. Combined with the Raman spectroscopic characterization of the films, the conditions for deposition of DLC films were investigated.展开更多
The elastic indentation modulus and hardness of standard bulk materials and advanced thin films were determined by using the nanoindentation technique followed by the Oliver- Pharr post-treatment. After measurements w...The elastic indentation modulus and hardness of standard bulk materials and advanced thin films were determined by using the nanoindentation technique followed by the Oliver- Pharr post-treatment. After measurements with different loading/unloading schemes on chemically polished bulk titanium a substantial decrease of both modulus and hardness vs an increasing loading time was found. Then, hard nanostructured TiBN and TiCrBN thin films deposited by magnetron sputtering (using multiphase targets) on substrates of high roughness (sintered hard metal) and low roughness (silicon) were studied. Experimental modulus and hardness characterized by using two different nanoindenter tools were within the limits of standard deviation. However, a strong effect of roughness on the spread of the experimental values was observed and it was found that hardness and elastic indentation modulus obeyed a Gaussian distribution. The experimental data were discussed together with scanning probe microscopy (SPM) images of typical imprints taken after the nanoindentation tests and the local topographyls strong correlation with the results of nanoindentation was described.展开更多

The plasma density was diagnosed by a Langmuir probe. The optical emission spectroscopy (OES) of CH4 and H2 discharge was obtained with raster spectroscopy, with characteristic peaks of H and CH achieved. Diamond-like carbon films were achieved based on the study of plasma density and OES and characterized by atomic force microscope (AFM), X-ray diffraction instrument (XRD), Raman spectroscope and profiler.展开更多
The conductivity of ploypyrrole films has been enhanced by electrochemical post-deposition doping with various anions.The change of conductivity was found to depend on the type and concentration of the anion.Results f...The conductivity of ploypyrrole films has been enhanced by electrochemical post-deposition doping with various anions.The change of conductivity was found to depend on the type and concentration of the anion.Results for the polypyrrole films doped with anions of H2SO4,(C2H5)4 N(O3SC6H4CH3),KI,CH3C8H4SO3H·H2O(p-Toluene Sulfonic acid Monohydydrate),AlCl3,KBrO3 and HNO3 showed that in the case of H2SO4,(C2H5)4N(O3SC6H4CH3) and CH3C6H4SO3H·H2O the conductivity can be enhanced by up to a factor of two,from a value of 67s cm^-1 up to 165,102 and 95 s cm^-1,respectively,Doping with I^- had a negligible effect on the conductivity which was about 71 s cm^-1,while in the case of AlCl3,KBrO3 and HNO3 the conductivity of the polypyrrole decreased significantly for certain anion concentrations.展开更多
A conjugated polymer P-M2 with carbazole units as impendent sidechains is used as the electropolymerization (EP) precursor to prepare EP film and realize the coupling reaction between conjugated polymers.Further,the E...A conjugated polymer P-M2 with carbazole units as impendent sidechains is used as the electropolymerization (EP) precursor to prepare EP film and realize the coupling reaction between conjugated polymers.Further,the EP film is used as the fluorescent film probe to Fe^(3+),whose limit of detection (LOD) is calculated to be 1.4×10^(-7) mol/L.Compared with that of the EP film prepared by small molecule precursor M2,the LOD is enhanced ten times.The results are due to both the long conjugation length of P-M2 and the inherent highly cross-linking network microstructures of P-M2 EP film.Hereby,this work realizes not only the reaction between conjugated polymers but also a new precursor for the EP method and a promising fluorescent film sensor candidate.展开更多
