Parallel Comparison of the 1982/83,1997/98 and 2015/16 Super El Nios and Their Effects on the Extratropical Stratosphere

This study uses multiple sea surface temperature （SST） datasets to perform a parallel comparison of three super El Nifios and their effects on the stratosphere. The results show that, different from ordinary El Nifios, warm SST anomalies appear earliest in the western tropical Pacific and precede the super El Nifio peak by more than 18 months. In the previous winter, relative to the mature phase of El Nifio, as a precursor, North Pacific Oscillation-like circulation anomalies are observed. A Pacific-North America （PNA） teleconnection appears in the extratropical troposphere during the mature phase, in spite of the subtle differences between the intensities, as well as the zonal position, of the PNA lobes. Related to the negative rainfall response over the tropical Indian Ocean, the PNA teleconnection in the winter of 1997/98 is the strongest among the three super El Nifios. The northern winter stratosphere shows large anomalies in the polar cap temperature and the circumpolar westerly, if the interferences from other factors are linearly filtered from the circulation data. Associated with the positive PNA response in a super El Nino winter, positive polar cap temperature anomalies and circumpolar easterly anomalies, though different in timing, are also observed in the mature winters of the three super El Nifios. The stratospheric polar vortex in the next winter relative to the 1982/83 and 1997/98 events is also anomalously weaker and warmer, and the stratospheric circulation conditions remain to be seen in the coming winter following the mature phase of the 2015/16 event.

Minority Protection in Proceedings for the Settlement of Disputes Between Shareholders

“A limited company is more than a mere judicial entity, with a personality in law of its own： Behind it, or amongst it, there are individuals, with rights, expectations and obligations inter se”. The competitive attitude of the member states of the EU （European Union）, to become the most attractive for companies results in law reforms aiming at more flexible conflict between shareholders. Besides, the economic objective of avoiding a company＇s dissolution, the English, Dutch, and Belgian exit proceedings for the settlement of disputes between shareholders set up a social objective： protecting the interests of the minority shareholder of a private limited company. The paper consists of four chapters. The introduction lays out the necessity of buy-outs for shareholders of a private limited company. The first chapter describes the different facts justifying the buy-out of a shareholder on the basis of serious grounds. The second chapter presents the findings of a comparative research of the valuation of the shares transferred in an English, Dutch, and Belgian procedure. Finally, the conclusion summarises in which way the English, Dutch, and Belgian legal system protect the interests of the minority shareholder of a private limited company.

Abundant Symmetry Structure of the Kaup-Kupershmidt Hierarchies

Explicit computation for the Kaup-Kupershmidt (KK) equation shows that there exists an abundant symmetry structure of the KK hierarchy. The recursion operator, inverse recursion operator and the symmetries all can be expressed explicitly by the pseudopotential of the KK equation.

COMMENT ON WHETHER THE CONTACT TERM CONTRIBUTES TO DOUBLE CHARGE EXCHANGE REACTION

Based on the Olsson-Turn’s Lagrangian, contribution to DCX reaction from the contact term has been discussed, The result shows that althought there are some cancellations between the pole-and contact-term contributions the contact term must be carefully included in any assessment of DCX reaction and can not be discarded a priori.

Waste Research Trends in Japan in the Past Ten Years: Review of What We Had Done before the Catastrophic Events of March 2011

This study analyzes waste research of the past decade in order to determine Japanese trends as well as to learn the problems of Japanese research. The results show that waste research has focused mainly on treatment, management, and recycling, and that research on prior processes such as reduction, collection, and transportation has been very limited. It was also found that research placed stress mostly on materials rather than people and the trend was very similar to that of a ministry oriented research fund. It seems that Japanese waste research has been neither balanced nor strategic. We therefore conclude that a government direction on waste studies might be not appropriate. Japan and Japanese researchers must change their ways of thinking in order not to repeat these mistakes.

The Scientific School of Philosophical and Legal Thought in Criminal Proceedings of Marian Cieslak

The aim of the article is to show that Professor Cie?lak is the founder of the scientific school of philosophical and legal thought in criminal proceedings and five thoughts belonging to this school regarding the subject of the criminal process, the identity of a deed, participants in the process, the burden of the proof, the obligation of proving, and division the grounds for detention. Professor Cie?lak was one of the most distinguished Polish lawyers and scientists, and had a great influence on shaping views on the law, primarily in theory, but also in practice. His concepts result from his theoretical and philosophical research on the law and are also timeless, remotely dependent on the legislation currently in existence.

China has already today become one of the most important investment countries; on the other side, Switzerland is in face of developing a much more mature economy and broadening the economic scope. The economy and trade intercourses between the two counties will become more and more frequent. At the same time civil and commercial disputes will increase correspondingly. So it is significant to compare the arbitration systems between them for promoting the economy and trade connection between Switzerland and China.

Legal Frame for Criminal Proceedings Against Juveniles in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The paper analyzes applicability of legal frame of international standards on the protection of juvenile rights which are expressed through the concept of protection of ＂the best interests of a child and juvenile＂, in view of the question whether the Federation of Bill performs appropriate activities and to which extent, and are there controversy points that need to be resolved separately. It points out the unknowns which the practices of the courts in the Federation of Bill have not yet completely resolved, and are related to the applicability of the new rules adopted by the Law on Protection and Treatment of Children and Juveniles in Criminal Proceedings of the Federation of Bill. Also, it presents a set of legal rules that regulate criminal proceedings against juveniles within the Federation of Bill, with a special emphasis on the basic characteristics of this process. Finally, possible solutions to the mentioned ambiguities and dilemmas are proposed in accordance with the principle of legal certainty as essential to addressees of the relevant legal norms
