Obtained data are compared to the experimental cross-section measurements for the projectile-like fragmentation in the reaction of 25 Me V/nucleon^(86)Kr+^(124;112)Sn at Texas A&M University.We show the enhancement in the production of neutronrich isotopes close to the projectile as observed in the experiments. This research aims to explore the major determinants of work-life balance(WLB)for university student workers in Lebanon.The proposed relationships consist of causality between each of the variables of working hours,pr...This research aims to explore the major determinants of work-life balance(WLB)for university student workers in Lebanon.The proposed relationships consist of causality between each of the variables of working hours,proximity to employment,proximity to university,workload,study leave,leaving early,work from home,study at work,and flexible working hours on one hand,and work-life balance on the other.Employing a deductive approach,this study presents one main research question and quantitatively tests 11 hypotheses using a sample of 300 workers studying in both Lebanese University and Notre Dame University.The findings show that work-life balance significantly varies according to demographic factors.As for variables,the number of courses was found to have a significant negative causal relation with work-life balance,while the ability to obtain a study leave and leaving early have a significant positive causal relation with work-life balance.This research adds quantitative empirical proof that number of courses,study leave,leaving early significantly affect“work-life balance”of today’s private and public university student workers in Lebanon.Therefore,the findings offer a theoretical enrichment to the topic of work-life balance in general,and open way for new research to expand internationally as well as locally.展开更多

Marx adhered to the world history position, but in the course of formulating his theory of the Asiatic mode of production he moved from universal history to a particularistic view of history; whereas the shift from the "Russian path" and "Russian way" provided by the Russian revolution to Stalin's doctrine of the "five forms" of social development represented a return from particularistic to universal history. In developing a Chinese view of history, three elements cannot be overlooked: the Chinese pattern of historical development and China's present development experience; Marx's theory of social forms and his thoughts on Oriental society in his later years; and the "Russian path" and "systemic transformation" launched by the October Revolution.展开更多
Universal Generating Function(UGF)techniques have been applied to Multi-State System(MSS)reliability analysis,such as long term reserve expansion of power systems with high wind power penetration.However,using simple ...Universal Generating Function(UGF)techniques have been applied to Multi-State System(MSS)reliability analysis,such as long term reserve expansion of power systems with high wind power penetration.However,using simple steady-state distribution models for wind power and large generating units in reliability assessment can yield pessimistic appraisals.To more accurately assess the power system reliability,UGF techniques are extended to dynamic probabilistic simulation analysis on two aspects of modelling improvement.Firstly,a principal component analysis(PCA)combined with a hierarchal clustering algorithm is used to achieve the salient and time-varying patterns of wind power,then a sequential UGF equivalent model of wind power output is established by an apportioning method.Secondly,other than the traditional two-state models,the conventional generator UGF equivalent model is established as a four discrete-state continuous-time Markov model by Lztransform.In the construction process of such a UGF model,the state values are transformed into the integral multiples of one common factor by choosing proper common factors,thus effectively restraining the exponential growth of its state number and alleviating the explosion thereof.The method is suitable for reliability assessment with dynamic probabilistic distributed random variables.In addition,by acquiring the clustering information of wind power,the system reliability indices,such as fuel cost and CO_(2) emissions through different seasons and on different workdays,are calculated.Finally,the effectiveness of the method is verified by a modified IEEE-RTS 79 system integrated with several wind farms of historical hourly wind power data of Zhangbei wind farm in North China.展开更多
The exotic Sonneratia apetala in Leizhou Peninsula, has shown outstanding fast-growing ability in restored mangrove forests, at the middle and high tide intertidal zone, with year-round fresh water input from drainage...The exotic Sonneratia apetala in Leizhou Peninsula, has shown outstanding fast-growing ability in restored mangrove forests, at the middle and high tide intertidal zone, with year-round fresh water input from drainage. By setting plot and selecting standard tree, investigation and measurement on height growth, diameter growth, biomass, productivity, and so on, were made in a S. apetala plantation at age of six at Lanbei, Fucheng, Leizhou Peninsula in May 2001. The investigating results showed that the mean annual height growth of plantation was 2.03 m and mean annual growth of diameter at breast height (DBH) was 2.35 cm. There exists a significant correlation between the diameter at ground surface (DGS) and DBH. The average biomass of a single standard tree in dry weight was 95.647 kg/m2. A ratio of above-ground biomass to under-ground biomass was 1.60. The stand biomass of unit area was 22.955 kg/m2, singletree wood volume was 88.23 dm3, and the annual wood volume productivity (PA) of the same year was 0.407. The forest energy accumulation was 424.851 MJ/m2, with annual solar energy fixing rate of 40.68 ×10-7%. It is concluded that S. apetala species had characteristics of outstanding high biomass accumulation and could be used as coastal planting tree species in southern China.展开更多
