"Dubliners" is Joyce's early work which belongs to the traditional narrative mode,but different from the traditional narrative,Joyce focused on psychological narration to show the decadent state of mind in Dublin."Araby" describes the childhood of Dubliners.And this paper mainly concentrated on the psychological process of the protagonist and is aimed at investigating this process from the perspective of the cognitive process,the emotional process and the will process.Firstly,it is introduction of Dubliners’creation background,the summary of Araby and the theory of the psychological process.Secondly,it is the detailed analysis of the psychological process of the protagonist to demonstrate the deep implication of the short story.Finally,we can find what the epiphany is and how to achieve the epiphany.

A qualitative study of the psychological processes in patients with post-herpetic neuralgia

Objective:To understand the psychological process of patients with post-herpetic neuralgia(PHN)and provide references for the psychological management of PHN.Methods:The objective sampling method was used to conduct semi-structural in-depth interviews on 10 PHN patients,and Colaizzi’s phenomenological analysis method was used for data analysis.Results:According to the different pain durations of PHN patients,the patients were divided into three stages and five themes were extracted:the need for strong pain relief,the helpless tolerance of pain,the self-feeling burden,the need for health education,and the positive response to pain.Conclusions:PHN has complex psychological activities,so it is necessary to pay attention to the psychological process of patients and take effective psychological measures to intervene negative psychology so that patients can actively cope with the pain.

A Study on the Influence of External Stimuli and Psychological Processes on Stationery Purchase Behavior Based on SOR

Based on the SOR(stimulus-organism-response)model to obtain 534 survey data from the MTurk platform,the relationship between external stimuli,psychological processes,and consumers’stationery purchasing behavior was empirically analyzed using a multivariate ordered logistic regression model.In terms of marketing stimuli,consumers’recognition of product quality and price as well as the convenience of purchasing channels significantly and positively influenced purchasing behavior;in terms of social stimuli,self’s opinion of needs and the positive evaluation of peers significantly and positively influenced purchasing behavior;in terms of psychological process,consumers’knowledge,trust,willingness to know,and preference for stationery products significantly and positively influenced purchasing behavior.Accordingly,it is proposed that,in order to promote the purchase of stationery products,the production and operation links should ensure the quality of stationery products,promote price control in a reasonable range,guarantee a healthy,orderly,and convenient stationery market environment,as well as strengthen the multi-sensory promotion of stationery products.

‘Face’and psychological processes of laid-off workers in transitional China

Objective:The objective was to explore the psychological experiences of laid-off workers in contemporary transitional China and to formulate a theoretical model of these.Methods:In-depth interviews of 26 laid-off workers were conducted and analysed using grounded theory techniques.Results:Four themes underline the psychological processes of these laid-off workers-feeling of loss,feeling of physical pain,feeling of fatalism,and final acceptance.These are characterized by Chinese culture and its philosophy-feeling of loss is dominated by their loss of face(diu mi-anzi),physical pain is a somatization of their mental painfulness,their fatalism is traced back to the Chinese ancient theocratic concept of Tian Ming,and their acceptance of reality to their final making face(zheng mianzi)is sourced from both Confucianism and Daoism.Conclusion:The psychological experience of laid-off workers(or unemployed workers)is likely to have varied manifestations in different cultural contexts.The psychological processes of Chinese laid-off workers(or unemployed workers)might be different from those of laid-off workers in Western countries.A therapeutic intervention to cater for the needs of laid-off workers derived from the four themes might be effective.
