Verification experiments show that the two orifice valve structure performs better than one orifice valve structure. A lowest temperature of 67.5 K was obtained at a frequency of 2.5 Hz under a system average pressure of 1.5 MPa with 200 mesh bronze screens as regenerator material, 80 mesh copper screens as stuffing material of heat exchanger. Due to the difficulty in manufacturing the thin "L" type pulse tube, the wall thickness of the pulse tube in the experiment was relatively difficult for us to reach 0.5 mm as that of the ordinary pulse tube, which resulted in relatively big system loss and affected the minimum temperature of the system to some degree.展开更多

This paper focuses on establishing the relationships between their on-off switching behaviors and their frequency response characteristics. A method is proposed by which the frequency response characteristics of an analog PWM high-speed on-off valve can be calculated for inputs whose periods are certain multiples of the carrier period, based on its switching be- haviors. Thus, a simple and direct describing function for a PWM high-speed on-off valve is established.展开更多

High speed on-off valves can be combined with actuators in systems into four typical types of composite valves whose static characteristics are related not only to the structures of the single valves and the composite ones, but also to the PWM control modes. It is proved that the composite valves have similar features as those of servo valves. The nonlinear specific properties of single valves composited can be completely compensated by the suitable PWM control modes.展开更多

With this model, the mass flow rate and dynamic pressure characteristics of constant volumes controlled by high-speed pneumatic PWM on /off valves was well described. A variable flow rate coefficient model was proposed to substitute for the constant one used in most of the prior works to investigate PWM on /off valves' dynamical pressure response, and a formula for disclosing the inherent relationship among the PWM command signal, static mass flow rate, and sonic conductance of the valve was newly derived. Finally,an extensive set of analytical experimental comparisons were implemented to verify the validity of the proposed mathematica model. With the proposed model, PWM on /off valves' characteristics, such as mass flow rate, step pressure response of the valve control system, mean pressure and ripple amplitude, not only in the linear range, but also in the nonlinear range can be wel predicted; Good agreement between measured and calculated results was obtained, which proved that the model is helpful for designing a control strategy in a closed loop control system.展开更多

Our observations were made using the Urumqi 25-m radio telescope at a radio frequency of 1.54 GHz. A total of 353 strong pulses were detected during eight hours of observing, The signal-to-noise ratios of the detected pulses range from 5 to 11.5. The peak fluxes of those pulses are 17 to 39 times that of the average pulse peak. The cumulative distribution of the signal-to-noise ratios of these strong pulses has a rough power-law distribution with a slope of 4.4 q- 0.5. Ten of the strong pulses arrived approximately 23 to 40 ms earlier than the average profile peak. This suggests the possibility that there are two strong pulse-emitting regions.展开更多

The flow field, as well as the dry-pressure drop of the valve under the full-opening condition was simulated based on the proposed model by using FLUENT 6.0 software. Compared with the values of dry-pressure dro.p in different turbulent models, the.simulated.results using RNG κ-ε model are in reasonable agreement with experimental data, indicating that RNG κ-ε model is suitable in simulating gas flow through the serrated valve tray. Then the CFD model combining RNG κ-ε model was used to study the three-dimensional gas flow through the considered serrated valve tray. The simulated results showed that various eddies existed on the serrated valve tray, and both the eddy and the non-eddy areas were nearly equal. The existence of addendum can decrease the eddy area caused by gas passing through the lateral outlet slots. The size of eddies can be reduced by optimizing the distance between valves.展开更多

During observation sessions in 2011- 2017, we collected data on 71 pulsars at a frequency of 111 MHz using a digital pulsar receiver. We have discovered Giant Radio Pulses (GRPs) from pulsars B0301+09 and B 1237+25, and confirmed earlier reported generation of anomalously strong (probable giant) pulses from B 1133+16 in a statistically significant dataset. Data for these pulsars and from B0950+08 and B 1112+50, earlier reported as pulsars generating GRPs, were analyzed to evaluate their behavior over long time intervals. It was found that the statistical criterion (power-law spectrum of GRP distribution of energy and peak flux density) seems not to be strict for pulsars with a low magnetic field at their light cylinder. Moreover, spectra of some of these pulsars demonstrate unstable behavior with time and have a complex multicomponent shape. In the dataset for B0950+08, we have detected the strongest GRP from a pulsar with a low magnetic field at its light cylinder ever reported, having a peak flux density as strong as 16.8 kJy.展开更多

A rotary-valve assembly is fabricated to control the periodic supply in this research. Oxygen and liquid aviation kerosene are used as oxidizer and fuel respectively. An ordinary automobile spark plug, with ignition energy as low as 50 mJ, is used to initiate combustion. Steady operation of the PDRE is achieved with operating frequency ranging from 1 Hz to 10 Hz. Experimentally measured pressure is lower than theoretical value by 13% at 1 Hz and 37% at 10 Hz, and there also exists a velocity deficit at different operating frequencies. Both of these two phenomena are believed mainly due to droplet size which depends on atomization and vaporiza-tion of liquid fuel.展开更多
