Mode- locking is achieved through nonlinear polarization evolution (NPE) along with spectral filtering. The laser delivers 135 mW of average output power with positively chirped 10.9-ps pulses. The pulse repetition rate is 15.9 MHz, which results in an energy of 8.5 nJ per pulse. The externally dechirped pulse duration is 223 fs, and the pulse energy is 6 n J, which corresponds to the peak power of -27 kW.展开更多

The fiber laser is mode-locked by a nonlinear polarization rotation technique. By inserting 0–200 m anomalous dispersion single-mode fiber in the laser cavity, the cavity length is changed from 17.3 to 217.3 m, and the corresponding dispersion of the cavity ranges from -0.27 to-4.67 ps^2. The observed results show that the tuning range of repetition rate under a harmonic DSR condition is highly influenced by the cavity dispersion. Furthermore, it is found that, by automatically adjusting their harmonic orders, the lasers can work at certain values of repetition rate, which are independent of the cavity length and dispersion. The pulses at the same repetition rate in different laser configurations have similar properties, demonstrating that each achievable repetition rate represents an operation regime of harmonic DSR lasers.展开更多

However, due to the difference of Doppler on sub-carriers, there occurs Doppler dispersion during non-coherent integration, which causes attenuation and extension on target's amplitude. Especially, it can deteriorate performance of target detection under wideband multicarrier system or fast-moving target scene. In this paper, a modified Fourier transform kernel is proposed to solve Doppler dispersion for multi-carrier chirp signal. It can achieve accumulation at the same frequency point for the target's Doppler of each subcarrier. The simulation results indicate that this method can effectively eliminate the integral loss caused by Doppler dispersion.展开更多
