This contribution presents a novel wear dependent virtual flow rate sensor for single stage single lobe progressing cavity pumps. We study the wear-induced material loss of the pump components and the impact of this material loss on the volumetric efficiency. The results are combined with an established backflow model to implement a backflow calculation procedure that is adaptive to wear. We use a laboratory test setup with a highly abrasive fluid and operate a pump from new to worn condition to validate our approach. The obtained measurement data show that the presented virtual sensor is capable of calculating the flow rate of a pump being subject to wear during its regular operation. 展开更多

Computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulations of multi-lobe progressive cavity(PC)pumps are limited in the literature due to the geometric complexity of the pump, which places numerous restrictions on the grid generation process. The present study attempts to alleviate such restrictions by developing a detailed numerical procedure for the numerical simulations of multi-lobe progressive cavity pumps. The profile equations for the multi-lobe configuration at any section at each instant of rotation are presented.A structured grid generation method is developed to generate mesh files required for CFD simulations of multi-lobe PC pumps. Results from the present procedure are validated against single-lobe PC pump numerical results available in the literature. Finally,a numerical parametric study is carried out to investigate the effect of the number of lobes, the stator pitch, the circular fillet and clearance on the volumetric efficiency of PC pumps with viscous oils. 展开更多

SrAl 2O 4∶Eu was adopted as main phase to prepare the ceramic pumping cavity material with ultraviolet(UV) converting function in order to match with laser absorption spectra. The relationship between SrAl 2O 4∶Eu powder processing and fluorescence effect was studied. The glass material with lower refractive index was added to the SrAl 2O 4∶Eu based ceramics. The diffusive reflectivity and the influence of fluorescence effect on reflection spectra of the ceramics were investigated. Some experimental results can be used for evaluating technical feasibility of the SrAl 2O 4∶Eu based ceramics used for laser reflectors. 展开更多
