Analytic expressions for the Helmholtz free energy, internal energy and equation of state of solid oxygen have been derived based on the multi-exponential potential. The formulism for the case of double-exponential (DE) model is applied to the ε phase of solid oxygen. Its four potential parameters are determined through fitting the experimental compression data of the ε phase of solid oxygen. Numerical results of the pressure dependence of the volume calculated by using the AMFP are in good agreement with the original experimental data. This suggests that the AMFP is a useful approach to study the thermodynamic properties of the ε phase of solid oxygen. Furthermore, we predict the variation of the volume, lattice parameters and intermolecular distances with pressure, and some thermodynamic quantities versus volume, at several higher temperatures.展开更多

It is shown that the RMF+FBCS model obtained can describe the weak pairing limit. We calculate the ground-state properties of the calcium isotopes &32-74Ca and compare the results with those obtained from the usual RMF+BCS model. Although the results are quite similar to each other, we observe the interesting phenomenon that for ^54Ca, the FBCS approach can enhance the occupation probability of the 2p1/2 single particle level and slightly increases its radius, compared with the RMF+BCS model. This leads to the unusual scenario that although ^54Ca is more bound with a spherical configuration, the corresponding size is not the most compact. We anticipate that such a phenomenon might happen for other neutron-rich nuclei and should be checked by further more systematic studies.展开更多

The TASEP has been recognized as a paradigm in modeling and analyzing non-equilibrium traffic systems. The paper surveys both the observed physical phenomena and several popular mean- field approaches used to analyze the extended TASEP models. Several interesting physical phenomena, such as phase separation, spontaneous symmetry breaking, and the finite-size effect, have been identified and explained. The future investigations of the extended TASEP with complex lattice geometries are also introduced. This paper may help to obtain a better understanding of non-equilibrium systems.展开更多

A mean-field approach is developed to deal with the junction that connects two sub-chains and the single main chain. We obtain the stationary particle currents, density profiles and phase diagrams. Interestingly, we find that the number of stationary-state phases is changeable depending on the value of a1 (a1 is the injection rate on the first sub-chain). When a1 〉 1/3, there are seven stationary-state phases in the system, however when a1 〈 1/3, only six stationary-state phases exist in the system. The theoretical calculations are shown to be in agreement with Monte Carlo simulations.展开更多

The nuclear structure associated with the shell and the isotope effect is investigated. The mechanism of the kink in the isotope shift at the neutron magic number N = 82 is revealed to be dependent on the neutron energy level structure at the Fermi energy, demonstrating that the spin-orbit coupling interaction and p-n attraction are well described by the relativistic mean field theory.展开更多
