With the growing threat of airborne epidemics,there has been an increasing emphasis on personal protection.Masks serve as our primary external defense against bacteria and viruses that might enter the respiratory trac...With the growing threat of airborne epidemics,there has been an increasing emphasis on personal protection.Masks serve as our primary external defense against bacteria and viruses that might enter the respiratory tract.Hence,it’s crucial to develop a polypropylene(PP)nonwoven fabric with quick antibacterial capabilities as a key component for masks.This study introduces silver nanoclusters(AgNCs)into non-woven PP using radiation technology to infuse antibacterial properties.Initially,a solid ligand(PP-g-PAA)was procured via radiation grafting of the ligand polyacrylic acid(PAA),which was incorporated into the nonwoven PP with the aid of a crosslinking agent at a lower absorbed dosage.Subsequently,AgNCs were synthesized in situ on PP-g-PAA via an interaction between PAA and AgNCs,leading directly to the formation of AgNCs@PP-g-PAA composites.Owing to the hydrophilicity of PAA,AgNCs@PP-g-PAA maintains good moisture permeability even when the voids are heavily saturated with PAA gel,preventing droplet aggregation by diffusing droplets on the surface of the material.This feature enhances the comfort of the masks.Most importantly,due to the incorporation of AgNCs,AgNCs@PP-g-PAA demonstrates outstanding antibacterial effects against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus,nearly achieving an instant“touch and kill”outcome.In conclusion,we synthesized a modified nonwoven fabric with significant antibacterial activity using a simple synthetic route,offering a promising material that provides improved personal protection.展开更多
Direct collection of uranium from low uranium systems via adsorption remains challenging.Fibrous sorbent materials with amidoxime(AO)groups are promising adsorbents for uranium extraction from seawater.However,low AO ...Direct collection of uranium from low uranium systems via adsorption remains challenging.Fibrous sorbent materials with amidoxime(AO)groups are promising adsorbents for uranium extraction from seawater.However,low AO adsorption group utilization remains an issue.We herein fabricated a branched structure containing AO groups on polypropylene/polyethylene spun-laced nonwoven(PP/PE SNW)fibers using grafting polymerization induced by radiation(RIGP)to improve AO utilization.The chemical structures,thermal properties,and surface morphologies of the raw and treated PP/PE SNW fibers were studied.The results show that an adsorptive functional layer with a branching structure was successfully anchored to the fiber surface.The adsorption properties were investigated using batch adsorption experiments in simulated seawater with an initial uranium concentration of 500μg·L^(−1)(pH 4,25℃).The maximum adsorption capacity of the adsorbent material was 137.3 mg·g^(−1)within 24 h;moreover,the uranyl removal reached 96%within 240 min.The adsorbent had an AO utilization rate of 1/3.5 and was stable over a pH range of 4–10,with good selectivity and reusability,demonstrating its potential for seawater uranium extraction.展开更多
A dual double interlocked storage cell(DICE)interleaving layout static random-access memory(SRAM)is designed and manufactured based on 65 nm bulk complementary metal oxide semiconductor technology.The single event ups...A dual double interlocked storage cell(DICE)interleaving layout static random-access memory(SRAM)is designed and manufactured based on 65 nm bulk complementary metal oxide semiconductor technology.The single event upset(SEU)cross sections of this memory are obtained via heavy ion irradiation with a linear energy transfer(LET)value ranging from 1.7 to 83.4 MeV/(mg/cm^(2)).Experimental results show that the upset threshold(LETth)of a 4 KB block is approximately 6 MeV/(mg/cm^(2)),which is much better than that of a standard unhardened SRAM with an identical technology node.A 1 KB block has a higher LETth of 25 MeV/(mg/cm^(2))owing to the use of the error detection and correction(EDAC)code.For a Ta ion irradiation test with the highest LET value(83.4 MeV/(mg/cm^(2))),the benefit of the EDAC code is reduced significantly because the multi-bit upset proportion in the SEU is increased remarkably.Compared with normal incident ions,the memory exhibits a higher SEU sensitivity in the tilt angle irradiation test.Moreover,the SEU cross section indicates a significant dependence on the data pattern.When comprehensively considering HSPICE simulation results and the sensitive area distributions of the DICE cell,it is shown that the data pattern dependence is primarily associated with the arrangement of sensitive transistor pairs in the layout.Finally,some suggestions are provided to further improve the radiation resistance of the memory.By implementing a particular design at the layout level,the SEU tolerance of the memory is improved significantly at a low area cost.Therefore,the designed 65 nm SRAM is suitable for electronic systems operating in serious radiation environments.展开更多
