Two sets of Helmholtz coil pairs with a V-shape structure are used to improve the holding of an animal in the coil. The homogeneity and the sensitivity of the RF field in the coil are analysed by theoretical calculation. The size and the shape of the new coil are optimized and validated by simulation through using the finite element method (FEM). Good magnetic resonance (MR) images are achieved on a shepherd dog.展开更多

Innovative researches in WSNs have resulted in the increase of application scenarios, which, at a time instant, were not even well-thought-of to be automated by WSNs. With this advent, it becomes necessary to customize sensor nodes depending on node specific characteristics and the deployment environment. Challenges for designing a WSN depend on the scenario in which it is implemented. Commercially available wireless motes are mostly generalized for usage in most of the applications. This survey work aims to provide an insight on the various wireless motes available in the market. This will enhance future researchers to select wireless modules which might be most suitable for their application needs. Various parameters related to the technical and implementation characteristics of WSNs were considered in this survey. This survey also concentrates with the survey on individual RF modules based on certain parameters like frequency of operation, transmission power, receiver sensitivity, interface mechanism, data rate, active, sleep & power-down current consumptions, range and cost involved.展开更多

Performance measuring systems are introduced for transmitter channel and receiver sensitivity, respectively. The transceiver achieves maximum output power of 22 dBm, dynamic range of 85 dB, adjacent channel power rejection ratio (ACPR) of -41dB@5MHz, and receiver sensitivity of-119.6 dBm for 128-kb/s data at 3.84-Mcps spreading rate. The measured results indicate the conformity to the required commercial 2.0-GHz WCDMA specification and 3GPP requirements.展开更多

A 10 Gbit/s differential quadrature phase shift keying (DQPSK) data signal is used at optical line terminal (OLT) for downstream, whereas a 2.5 Gbit/s inverse return-to-zero (IRZ) data signal with high extinction ratio is used for upstream signal by intensity re-modulation of downstream signal, no additional laser is used at optical network unit (ONU). Simulation results verify that aggregated 100 Gbit/s downstream transmissions of 10 DQPSK channels and aggregated 25 Gbit/s upstream transmission of 10 IRZ channels, using spectrally-efficient 50 GHz channel spacing, can be successfully achieved over a distance of 20 km with less than 1 dB transmission power penalties and improved receiver sensitivity.展开更多
