The elastic solid behaves non-dissipatively, while double-porosity dual-permeability materials behave dissipatively to wave propagation due to the presence of viscosity in pore fluids. All the waves(i.e., incident and reflected) in an elastic medium are considered as homogeneous(i.e., having the same directions of propagation and attenuation), while all the refracted waves in double-porosity dual-permeability materials are inhomogeneous(i.e., having different directions of propagation and attenuation). The coefficients of reflection and refraction for a given incident wave are obtained as a non-singular system of linear equations. The energy shares of reflected and refracted waves are obtained in the form of an energy matrix. A numerical example is considered to calculate the partition of incident energy among various reflected and refracted waves. The effect of incident direction on the partition of the incident energy is analyzed with a change in wave frequency, wave-induced fluid-flow, pore-fluid viscosity and double-porosity structure. It has been confirmed from numerical interpretation that during the reflection/refraction process, conservation of incident energy is obtained at each angle of incidence.展开更多

The purpose of the paper is toinvestigate the influence of the ground profile and the presence of the train body on the sound radiation fromthe rail.Design/methodology/approach – Two-dimensional boundary element calculations are used, in which therail vibration is the source. The ground profile and various different shapes of train body are introduced in themodel, and results are observed in terms of sound power and sound pressure. Comparisons are also made withvibro-acoustic measurements performed with and without a train present.Findings – The sound radiated by the rail in the absence of the train body is strongly attenuated by shieldingdue to the ballast shoulder. When the train body is present, the sound from the vertical rail motion is reflectedback down toward the track where it is partly absorbed by the ballast. Nevertheless, the sound pressure at thetrackside is increased by typically 0–5 dB. For the lateral vibration of the rail, the effects are much smaller. Oncethe sound power is known, the sound pressure with the train present can be approximated reasonably well withsimple line source directivities.Originality/value – Numerical models used to predict the sound radiation from railway rails have generallyneglected the influence of the ground profile and reflections from the underside of the train body on the soundpower and directivity of the rail. These effects are studied in a systematic way including comparisons with measurements.展开更多

Due to the interference of strong reflection of coals, we cannot completely identify the effective reservoir information of coal-bearing reservoir on seismic data. Previous researchers have studied the reservoir by stripping or weakening the strong reflection, but it is difficult to determine the effectiveness of the remaining reflection seismic data. In this paper, through the establishment of 2D forward model of coal-bearing strata, the corresponding geophysical characteristics of different reflection types of coal-bearing strata are analyzed, and then the favorable sedimentary facies zones for reservoir development are predicted. On this basis, combined with seismic properties, the coal-bearing reservoir is quantitatively characterized by seismic inversion. The above research shows that the Taiyuan formation in LS block of Ordos Basin is affected by coals and forms three or two peaks in different locations. The reservoir plane sedimentary facies zone is effectively characterized by seismic reflection structure. Based on the characteristics of sedimentary facies belt and petrophysical analysis, the reservoir is semi quantitatively characterized by attribute analysis and waveform indication, and quantitatively characterized by pre stack geostatistical inversion. Based on the forward analysis of coal measure strata, this technology characterizes the reservoir facies belt through seismic reflection characteristics, and describes coal measure reservoirs step by step. It effectively guides the exploration of LS block in Ordos Basin, and has achieved good practical application effect.展开更多

By the joint explorations of high-resolution seismic refraction and wide-angle reflection/refraction as well as deep seismic reflection in the region, which is the first synthetic profile in China, its fine velocity structure and geometric structure from the ground to Moho discontinuity is obtained. The result shows that the crust is obviously layered with a thickness of about 32 km. Basically, it consists of two parts: upper crust and lower crust. The velocity of the upper crust is 5.9-6.2 km/s in which there is a 3-4-km-thick weak low-velocity layer between the depths of 10-15 km, while the velocity of the lower crust in the range of 6.3-7.2 km/s. There exists a strong velocity gradient layer about 3 km thick above the Moho discontinuity whose velocity increases from 6.5 to 7.27 km/s. There exist high-angle normal faults that are small in size and extend only in the shallow crust. These faults are the secondary developed on the hanging wall of westward dipping low-angle normal faults. Thus, their seismogenic ability is limited, however, there exists a high-angle deep fault in the crust from Changle-Zaoan fault zone to seashore fault zone. This deep fault has cut the interface between the upper and lower crusts and Moho discontinuity, and may be the deep structure to trigger destructive earthquake source in future to affect Fuzhou City. These results have advanced the detecting precision of the deep structure in the southeastern coastal seismic zone of the mainland of China. In the aspect of the combined feature of the deep and shallow extensional structures that consist of the westward dipping low-angle normal faults and secondary normal faults on their hanging walls in the upper crust, it is firstly obtained that a united structural interpretation has deepened the knowledge about the deep dynamic process in the southeastern coastal seismic zone. At the same time, in synthetic application of deep seismic detecting methods for deep tectonic background, it possesses a wide referenced meaning to the other regions.展开更多

The propagation of three longitudinal waves is represented through three scalar potential functions. The lone transverse wave is presented by a vector potential function. The displacements of particles in different phases of the aggregate are defined in terms of these potential functions. It is shown that there exist three longitudinal waves and one transverse wave. The phenomena of reflection and refraction due to longitudinal and transverse waves at a plane interface between an elastic solid half-space and a porous solid half-space saturated with two immiscible viscous fluids are investigated. For the presence of viscosity in pore-fluids, the waves refracted to the porous medium attenuate in the direction normal to the interface. The ratios of the amplitudes of the reflected and refracted waves to that of the incident wave are calculated as a non- singular system of linear algebraic equations. These amplitude ratios are used to further calculate the shares of different scattered waves in the energy of the incident wave. The modulus of the amplitude and the energy ratios with the angle of incidence are computed for a particular numerical model. The conservation of the energy across the interface is verified. The effects of variations in non-wet saturation of pores and frequencies on the energy partition are depicted graphically and discussed,展开更多

It presents some boundary conditions of chemical waves, with which occurence of observed phenomena at interface as refraction and reflection of chemical waves can be interpreted. Moreover, the angle of reflection may be calculated by using the boundary conditions. It finds that reflection and refraction of chemical waves can occur simultaneously even if plane wave goes from a medium with higher speed to a medium with lower speed, provided the incident angle is larger than the critical angle.展开更多

The generalized theories of linear piezo-thermoelasticity have been employed to investigate the problem. In two-dimensional model of transversely isotropic piezothermoelastic medium, there are four types of plane waves quasi-longitudinal (qP), quasi-transverse (qSV), thermal wave (T-mode), and potential electric waves (φ-mode) The amplitude ratios of reflection and refraction waves have been obtained. 文摘Reducing the control error is vital for high-fidelity digital and analog quantum operations. In superconducting circuits, one disagreeable error arises from the reflection of microwave signals due to impedance mismatch in the control chain. Here,we demonstrate a reflection cancelation method when considering that there are two reflection nodes on the control line.We propose to generate the pre-distortion pulse by passing the envelopes of the microwave signal through digital filters, which enables real-time reflection correction when integrated into the field-programmable gate array(FPGA).We achieve a reduction of single-qubit gate infidelity from 0.67%to 0.11%after eliminating microwave reflection.Real-time correction of microwave reflection paves the way for precise control and manipulation of the qubit state and would ultimately enhance the performance of algorithms and simulations executed on quantum processors.

文摘Acoustic reflection imaging logging technology can detect and evaluate the development of reflection anomalies, such as fractures, caves and faults, within a range of tens of meters from the wellbore, greatly expanding the application scope of well logging technology. This article reviews the development history of the technology and focuses on introducing key methods, software, and on-site applications of acoustic reflection imaging logging technology.Based on the analyses of major challenges faced by existing technologies, and in conjunction with the practical production requirements of oilfields, the further development directions of acoustic reflection imaging logging are proposed.Following the current approach that utilizes the reflection coefficients, derived from the computation of acoustic slowness and density,to perform seismic inversion constrained by well logging, the next frontier is to directly establish the forward and inverse relationships between the downhole measured reflection waves and the surface seismic reflection waves. It is essential to advance research in imaging of fractures within shale reservoirs, the assessment of hydraulic fracturing effectiveness, the study of geosteering while drilling, and the innovation in instruments of acoustic reflection imaging logging technology.
文摘During spacecraft re-entry,the challenge of measuring plasma sheath parameters directly contributes to difficulties in addressing communication blackout. In this work,we have discovered a phenomenon of multiple peaks in reflection data caused by the inhomogeneous plasma.Simulation results show that the multi-peak points fade away as the characteristic frequency is approached, resembling a series of gradually decreasing peaks. The positions and quantities of these points are positively correlated with electron density, yet they show no relation to collision frequency. This phenomenon is of significant reference value for future studies on the spatial distribution of plasmas, particularly for using microwave reflection signals in diagnosing the plasma sheath.

文摘Optical reflection anisotropy microscopy mappings of micropipe defects on the surface of a 4H-SiC single crystal are studied by the scanning anisotropy microscopy(SAM)system. The reflection anisotropy(RA)image with a'butterfly pattern'is obtained around the micropipes by SAM.The RA image of the edge dislocations is theoretically simulated based on dislocation theory and the photoelastic principle.By comparing with the Raman spectrum,it is verified that the micropipes consist of edge dislocations. The different patterns of the RA images are due to the different orientations of the Burgers vectors.Besides, the strain distribution of the micropipes is also deduced. One can identify the dislocation type, the direction of the Burgers vector and the optical anisotropy from the RA image by using SAM.Therefore,SAM is an ideal tool to measure the optical anisotropy induced by the strain field around a defect.

文摘Elastic metamaterials with unusual elastic properties offer unprecedented ways to modulate the polarization and propagation of elastic waves. However, most of them rely on the resonant structural components, and thus are frequency-dependent and unchangeable. Here,we present a reconfigurable 2D mechanism-based metamaterial which possesses transformable and frequency-independent elastic properties.Based on the proposed mechanism-based metamaterial, interesting functionalities, such as ternarycoded elastic wave polarizer and programmable refraction, are demonstrated.Particularly, unique ternary-coded polarizers, with 1-trit polarization filtering and 2-trit polarization separating of longitudinal and transverse waves, are first achieved. Then, the strong anisotropy of the proposed metamaterial is harnessed to realize positive-negative bi-refraction,only-positive refraction, and only-negative refraction. Finally, the wave functions with detailed microstructures are numerically verified.

文摘Acoustic emission(AE)localization algorithms based on homogeneous media or single-velocity are less accurate when applied to the triaxial localization experiments. To the end,a robust triaxial localization method of AE source using refraction path is proposed.Firstly, the control equation of the refraction path is established according to the sensor coordinates and arrival times.Secondly, considering the influence of time-difference-of-arrival(TDOA)errors,the residual of the governing equation is calculated to estimate the equation weight.Thirdly, the refraction points in different directions are solved using Snell’s law and orthogonal constraints. Finally, the source coordinates are iteratively solved by weighted correction terms. The feasibility and accuracy of the proposed method are verified by pencil-lead breaking experiments. The simulation results show that the new method is almost unaffected by the refraction ratio, and always holds more stable and accurate positioning performance than the traditional method under different ratios and scales of TDOA outliers.
文摘In this study,we focus on the numerical modelling of the interaction between waves and submerged structures in the presence of a uniform flow current. Both the same and opposite senses of wave propagation are considered. The main objective is an understanding of the effect of the current and various geometrical parameters on the reflection coefficient. The wave used in the study is based on potential theory, and the submerged structures consist of two rectangular breakwaters positioned at a fixed distance from each other and attached to the bottom of a wave flume. The numerical modeling approach employed in this work relies on the Boundary Element Method(BEM).The results are compared with experimental data to validate the approach. The findings of the study demonstrate that the double rectangular breakwater configuration exhibits superior wave attenuation abilities if compared to a single rectangular breakwater, particularly at low wavenumbers.Furthermore, the study reveals that wave mitigation is more pronounced when the current and wave propagation are coplanar, whereas it is less effective in the case of opposing current.

文摘Purpose – The vibration of the rails is a significant source of railway rolling noise, often forming the dominantcomponent of noise in the important frequency region between 400 and 2000 Hz. These effects are studied in a systematic way including comparisons with measurements.
文摘Taiyuan formation is the main exploration strata in Ordos Basin, and coals are widely developed. It effectively guides the exploration of LS block in Ordos Basin, and has achieved good practical application effect.
文摘The Fuzhou basin and its vicinities are located at the northern end of the southeastern coastal seismic zone of the mainland of China. At the same time, in synthetic application of deep seismic detecting methods for deep tectonic background, it possesses a wide referenced meaning to the other regions.

文摘The propagation of elastic waves is studied in a porous solid saturated with two immiscible viscous fluids. The effects of variations in non-wet saturation of pores and frequencies on the energy partition are depicted graphically and discussed,

文摘In the case or wave interactions with structural weakness planes in rook mass the results of reflection and refraction of waves at entirely cohesive boundaries have been used all along. But,oblique incidences of compressive stress waves at the structural weakness plane may result in relative slippage of rocks on both sides of the plane. The authors have derived the reflection and refraction coefficients for plane stress waves generated by blasting incidents on the structural weakness plane in rook mass according to its special boundary condition. The formula of energy dissipation and some computational results at the structural weakness plane are obtained. On the above basis, some problems about rook and soil engineering are discussed.

文摘This paper uses the two-dimensional Brusselator model to study reflection and refraction of chemical waves. It presents some boundary conditions of chemical waves, with which occurence of observed phenomena at interface as refraction and reflection of chemical waves can be interpreted. Moreover, the angle of reflection may be calculated by using the boundary conditions. It finds that reflection and refraction of chemical waves can occur simultaneously even if plane wave goes from a medium with higher speed to a medium with lower speed, provided the incident angle is larger than the critical angle.
文摘According to the statistical description of direction distribution on wavy surface by Cox, we have set up a physical model of reflection and refraction of Gaussian beam on wavy surface, derived that a beam reflected and refracted by wavy surface is also a Gaussian beam when the incident beam is a Gaussian beam, and set up the relationship between Gaussian beam's light spot size and wind speed over sea surface.
文摘The present paper concentrates on the study of reflection and refraction phenomena of waves in pyroelectric and piezo-electric media under initial stresses and two relaxation times influence by apply suitable conditions. Finally, the results in each case are presented graphically.

文摘Wave reflection and refraction at the interface between a normal media and a one-dimensional left-handed material (1 DLHM) with a hyperbolic dispersion relationship is studied. It is found that in a special case that the boundary is perpendicular to one asymptotic line of the hyperbola, phase matching cannot be achieved unless the 1 DLHM is regarded to be intrinsically lossy. After introducing a small loss factor to the 1 DLHM, a reasonable solution for the phase matching is obtained. According to the analytical result, a wave confined to a thin layer near the boundary is found, which can be excited at the interface as a reflected wave or a refracted wave attenuating drastically away from the boundary inside the 1 DLHM in both cases.Wave reflection and refraction at the interface between a normal media and a one-dimensional left-handed material (1 DLHM) with a hyperbolic dispersion relationship is studied.
