Ranking Related Research Papers Based on Citation Graph

Research papers are of great importance for researchers to record and share their ideas,studies and results. Meanwhile,they are the bases for further research work. Finding related research papers is the preliminary of good research. A new method for ranking related research papers is introduced in this paper. Given a set of interested papers,the method proposed in this paper may rank related papers just based on a citation graph by constructing the minimal Steiner trees. The method can work with the existing keyword based methods. Intensive experiments on a specific research topic show that the proposed method provides a different ranking criterion to existing ones,and can effectively retrieve those highly related papers.

Comparison of Generic Organization of the Research Paper in English and Polish： Cross-Cultural Variation and Pedagogical Implications

This paper provides a comparative analysis of the rhetorical structure and linguistic features of research papers written in English and Polish languages within the field of medicine. The study was based on a corpus of 30 research articles： 15 written by native English speakers and 15 by non-native speakers-Polish researchers. The outcomes of this investigation indicate some discrepancies in rhetorical structure between the research papers. An explanation for the cross-cultural differences which seem to be responsible for these discrepancies, and an enumeration of pedagogical implications for the use of a corpus-based approach to generic analysis in English for Specific Purposes （ESP） classes, are also provided.

Games theory and the development of research paper publishing

Along with rapid development of Chinese university, series of disadvantages are brought in research papers publishing. From the study of Games theory, this article tries to find out a way to adjust the rules of the game, to refine the science research environment, improve the quality of research paper, and then realize the sustainable development of Chinese universities.

Econometric Analysis of Research Papers on the Project of " Turning Vulnerable Farmland into Forests "

Taking the Database of Chinese Scientific and Technical Periodicals of Chongqing VIP Information Co. ,Ltd. as the statistical analysis source,we analyze the inter-annual trends,the authors institutions,journals distribution,disciplines distribution,paper subjects and authors' cooperation of research papers on the project of " turning vulnerable farmland into forests" in China during the period 1999 -2010,using the bibliometric method. The results show that during the period 1999 -2010,the research on the project of " turning vulnerable farmland into forests" always captured the attention of academia,and the number of research papers annually averaged more than 300; the relevant forestry functional departments at all levels,forestry-related research institutions and universities have paid close attention to the project of " turning vulnerable farmland into forests" in China; the group of core journals researched is concentrated in journals concerning forestry; in addition to forestry and agriculture,the research areas also touch upon economics,environment and other disciplines; the emphasis and hot spot of research are centered on applications, with few basic researches.
