Smples are fully saturated with water in vacuum. Waterproof insulation glue is coated on the measuring surfact and asmall parts (including two arrises) of the adjacent surfeces of the saturated sample to ensure that the electric current flows only within the sample through the connection between the electrodes. The multiple electrodes are combined form arrays of different direction and specing with symmetrical four-clectrode method according to need of measuring of resistivity changing anisotropy, electric profiling and electric sounding. The samples are placed into container filled with water. The samples are uniaxially compressed along the direction parallel to the longest dimension of the cubic, and the variation of resistivity during the whole loading process is observed. In the experiments, some samples are loaded to rupture with macro-fractures, some are only loaded to the Stage, which shows obvious Precursors in variation of resistivity associated with the indication of forthcoming rupture. Finally a quantitative comparison batween the dominant orientation of pre-existing cracks in photo-micrography of unruptured Samles and those macro-fractures in ruptured sample is made, together with theirrespective resistivity changing anisotropy behaviors. The experimental results are the following: ① For measuring points in areas that are passed by craks or rupture bands, the directions of principal anisotropy axes dedued from four kinds of combined equation sets are essentially identical with each other, and accord with the orientation of cracks or main rupture bands approximately. For measuring points in areas without crack or rupture band passing through, either the directions of calculated principal anisotropy axes by different combinatorial arrays are inconsistent with each other, or the principal anisotropy axis cannot be determined, especially in the cases where the crack plane is parallel to the measuring surface.② The dominant orientation of microfractures or rupture bands shown from micrographs is close to the direction of principal anisotropy axis along which the variation in resistivity is the greaest.③ The results of electric profiling can be used for detecting the localization of cracks. 展开更多

In coal mining roadway support design, the working resistance of the rock bolt is the key factor affecting its maximum support load.Effective improvement of the working resistance is of great significance to roadway support.Based on the rock bolt’s tensile characteristics and the mining roadway surrounding rock deformation,a mechanical model for calculating the working resistance of the rock bolt was established and solved.Taking the mining roadway of the 17102(3)working face at the Panji No.3 Coal Mine of China as a research site, with a quadrilateral section roadway, the influence of pretension and anchorage length on the working resistance of high-strength and ordinary rock bolts in the middle and corner of the roadway is studied. The results show that when the bolt is in the elastic stage, increasing the pretension and anchorage length can effectively improve the working resistance. When the bolt is in the yield and strain-strengthening stages, increasing the pretension and anchorage length cannot effectively improve the working resistance. The influence of pretension and anchorage length on the ordinary and high-strength bolts is similar. The ordinary bolt’s working resistance is approximately 25 kN less than that of the high-strength bolt. When pretension and anchorage length are considered separately, the best pretensions of the high-strength bolt in the middle of the roadway side and the roadway corner are 41.55 and 104.26 kN,respectively, and the best anchorage lengths are 1.54 and 2.12 m,respectively. The best anchorage length of the ordinary bolt is the same as that of the high-strength bolt, and the best pretension for the ordinary bolt in the middle of the roadway side and at the roadway corner is 33.51 and 85.12 kN,respectively. The research results can provide a theoretical basis for supporting the design of quadrilateral mining roadways. 展开更多

The measured data and simulation test phenomenon of surrounding rock deformation and failure at the project site indicate that shear failure which firstly occurs in surrounding rock, block slip and second shear failure are the root cause of deformation and damage of supporting structure of the surrounding rock at a large scale. We derived limit load of surrounding rock shear slip failure and reasonable support resistance of given load by means of shear slip line field theory, discussed the main factors which influence the limit load of surrounding rock. Shear slip line field and limit load of circular tunnel surrounding rock were obtained by means of physical simulation test, which agreed well with the theoretical analysis results. Based on the theoretical analysis and physical simulation test, the cause deformation and failure at large scale of Xinshanghai No. 1 coal mine big section ingate was analyzed, and the shear failure resistance and block slip in surrounding rock were proposed as the core technical supporting ideas. Proper range of supporting resistance which came from calculation was suggested. The support scheme which is mainly composed of large grouting anchor, sprayed anchor net support technique and full-face grille concrete finally ended the dilemma of repeated failure and mending of ingate and created critical conditions for smooth production in the coal mine. 展开更多

The results of observed apparent resistivity show: ① The process of the deformation from microcrack to main rupture on the loaded rock sample could be characterized by the precursory spatial-temporal changes in the observation of apparent resistivity; ② The precursory temporal changes of observation in apparent resistivity could be divided into several stages, and its spatial distribution shows the difference in different parts of the rock sample; ③ Before the main rupture of the rock sample the obvious ″tendency anomaly′ and ′short-term anomaly″ were observed, and some of them could be likely considered as the ″impending earthquake ″anomaly precursor of apparent resistivity. The changes and distribution features of apparent resistivity show that they are intrinsically related to the dilatancy phenomenon of the loaded rock sample. Finally, this paper discusses the mechanism of resistivity change of loaded rock sample theoretically. 展开更多
