SOA is built upon and evolving from older concepts of distributed computing and modular programming, OWL-S plays a key role in describing behaviors of web services, which are the essential of the SOA software. Althoug...SOA is built upon and evolving from older concepts of distributed computing and modular programming, OWL-S plays a key role in describing behaviors of web services, which are the essential of the SOA software. Although OWL-S has given semantics to concepts by ontology technology, it gives no semantics to control-flow and data-flow. This paper presents a formal semantics framework for OWL-S sub-set, including its abstraction, syntax, static and dynamic seman-tics by rewrite logic. Details of a consistent transformation from OWL-S SOS of control-flow to corresponding rules and equations, and dataflow semantics including “Precondition”, “Result” and “Binding” etc. are explained. This paper provides a possibility for formal verification and reliability evaluation of software based on SOA.展开更多

Since its publication, it receives warm welcome from western readers but dispute also exists due to some mistranslations. This paper aims to use rewriting theory to evaluate this work from a fresh perspective.Rewriting theory, which was proposed by Andre Lefevere, asserts that ideology, poetics and patronage would exert influence on translation. With analysis of the original work, notes of Fenollosa, it can be concluded that Cathay is under the manipulation of ideology and poetics of Pound's era. With regard to ideology, The World WarⅠinfluences the subject Pound chose and the methods he used. On the part of poetics, Pound launched Imagism Movement against the dominant Victorian poetics. The theoretical analysis shows that a smaller frank elastic constant K22 o...The effect of interaction between liquid crystal （LC） and photoalignment material on the speed of optical rewriting process is investigated. The theoretical analysis shows that a smaller frank elastic constant K22 of liquid crystal corresponds to a larger twist angle, which gives rise to a larger rewriting speed. Six different LC cells with the same boundary conditions （one substrate is covered with rubbed polyimide （PI） and the other with photo sensitive rewritable sulfuric dye I（SD1）） are tested experimentally under the same illumination intensity （450 nm, 80 mW/cm2）. The results demonstrate that with a suitable liquid crystal, the LC optical rewriting speed for e-paper application can be obviously improved. For two well known LC materials E7 （K22 is larger） and 5CB （K22 is smaller）, they require 11 s and 6 s corresponding to change alignment direction for generating image information.展开更多

Basically, some subqueries can be effectively cach...With the internet development, querying data on the Web is an attention problem of involving information from distributed, and often dynamically, related Web sources. Basically, some subqueries can be effectively cached from previous queries or materialized views in order to achieve a better query performance based on the notion of rewriting queries. In this paper, we propose a novel query-rewriting model, called Hierarchical Query Tree, for representing Web queries. Hierarchical Query Tree is a labeled tree that is suit able for representing the inherent hierarchy feature of data on the Web. Based on Hierarchical Query Tree, we use case based approach to determine what the query results should be. The definitions of queries and query results are both re presented as labeled trees. Thus, we can use the same model for representing cases and the medium query results can also be dynamically updated by the user queries. We show that our case-based method can be used to answer a new query based on the combination of previous queries, including changes of requirements and various information sources.展开更多

It is an important task to communicate Chinese culture with other countries in the more conflicting global world.Lijiang Painting School plays a very important part in Chinese art,and it greatly influences the painter...It is an important task to communicate Chinese culture with other countries in the more conflicting global world.Lijiang Painting School plays a very important part in Chinese art,and it greatly influences the painters of various periods in China.In this context,some representative paintings of Lijiang Painting School in different periods were collected in this paper as the research objects.The rewriting theory was applied in the study because Chinese readers and English readers have different cultural backgrounds and diverse thinking.Based on the rewriting theory,these representative paintings were translated and the explained in English.In the study,it is found that as an intersemiotic translation,the translation of the representative paintings of Lijiang Painting School should be focused on those target readers who can’t comprehend directly from the paintings.In addition,the artistic integrity should be considered first before details in paintings.Therefore,the overall perception of target readers gaining from the translations should be paid more attention to rather than metaphrase.The translation under the guidance of rewriting theory will be helpful for the target readers to understand the connotation of source culture with some cultural images of target readers.展开更多
