“Voices of Heaven and Rhymes of God”——My English and Chinese Poetry Written from the Bible in Rhyme and Rhythm is Worth over Fifteen Towns together

After my 2nd book English Letters and Essays published ... Thanks to Heavens bestow me natural gift and literary talent, so that I not only like English and Chinese poems, but also can write poems in English and Chinese. After my 2nd book English Letters and Essays published by Sichuan University Press in March 2016, I began to write my 3rd book Voices of Heaven and Rhymes of God-My English and Chinese poetry written from the Bible in Rhyme and Rhythm. Imitating the most famous British, American and Italian poets, I have written more than one thousand English and Chinese bilingual poems from free poems, prose, addresses and narratives in the nine copies of the Bible in fourteen kinds of English metrical stanzas of poems, such as couplet, tercet, quatrain, cinquain, sixain, septet, octive, Spenserian stanza, ten-line stanza, sonnet, crown sonnet and long-stanzas (12, 13, 18) in rhyme and rhythm, in iambic pentameter and iambic tetrameter. And my Chinese poems in the version are in five, six, seven, eight and nine Chinese characters. We know the story in the Spring and Autumn Dynasty, Bian He’s Jade is the Jade of jades, the Treasure of treasures, and it is worth fifteen towns together. And I think my treasury Voices of Heaven and Rhymes of God is the Gem of jades and treasures, cause it brings us proverbs, wisdom, courage, confidence, strength, lifestyle etc. from the Bible, it really brings us heavenly grace, gift and wisdom. Voices of Heaven and Rhymes of God will be submitted out respectfully to common people;its soul is praising the Heavens sincerely, and hearing a universal singing. 展开更多

Ancient poetry represents historical and cultural legacies accumulated by the Chinese nation for thousands of years and underpins the strong cultural confidence of the Chinese people.Tang poetry distinguishes itself from other literary works with its beautiful rhyme and symmetry.Previous studies of English translations of Tang poetry mostly focused on appreciation,analysis,and critics of different translation versions.Few researchers have delved into the specific translation methods for achieving the rhyming and symmetrical effects of Tang poetry in the target text.This paper examined Professor Xu Yuanchong’s English translation of 300 Tang Poems as the research object,and elaborated on how to retain the rhyming and symmetrical effects of Tang poems.This paper also summarized some practical methods that can be applied to translating Tang poems.Rhyming can be realized by the addition of end rhyme words and changes in word or line order.Symmetry can be achieved by the omission of a modifier or predicate,the addition of function words,changes in word order,or parallelism with the original sentence structure. 展开更多

清抄本《方韵相转谱》以《直图》韵图形式展现“中州音”,以之作为等韵通转的标准,将十四通(即“摄”)各韵母方音通转、古音叶音关系直观地反映出来。《方韵相转谱》虽沿袭了《直图》三十二声母系统,但以直观的方式反映了实际语音的声... 清抄本《方韵相转谱》以《直图》韵图形式展现“中州音”,以之作为等韵通转的标准,将十四通(即“摄”)各韵母方音通转、古音叶音关系直观地反映出来。《方韵相转谱》虽沿袭了《直图》三十二声母系统,但以直观的方式反映了实际语音的声母系统特征;将《直图》四十四韵合并为三十二韵,很大程度上反映了实际语音韵母系统特征。为了反映完整的转音关系,以及受传统韵图影响,韵图借列字现象较多。根据韵图反映转音的方式,通过分析借列字的性质,判断帮非组、知照组字韵母实际读音而归纳出的实际语音系统与语音特征反映,《方韵相转谱》“中州音”是建立在河南中原官话基础上的,与现代郑州等地中原官话方言有很大程度的一致性。 展开更多
