Vitamin B is essential for maintaining normal life activities in humans and animals who have to intake the microelement from the outside, especially from cereal products. In the present study 166 Chinese and foreign wheat cultivars planted in two environments were characterized for variation in vitamin B1 and B2 contents. A genome-wide association study(GWAS) using the wheat 90 K SNP assay identified 17 loci for vitamin B1 and 7 for vitamin B2 contents. Linear regression analysis showed a significantly positive correlation of the number of favorable alleles with vitamin B1 and B2 contents. Marker-trait associations(MTAs) at IWB43809(6AS, 0cM) and IWB69903(6AS, 13cM) were new and stable, and significantly associated with vitamin B1 content across two environments. The loci identified in this study and associated SNP markers could be used for improvement of vitamin B1 and B2 contents to obtain superior quality along with grain yield in wheat. 展开更多

Objective To explore metabolic changes after acute hypoxia and modulating effect of vitamins B1, B2, and PP supplementation in mice exposed to acute hypoxia. Methods Fifty male Kunming mice were randomly divided into 5 groups: normal, acute hypoxia, acute hypoxia with 2, 4 and 8 time- vitamins B1, B2, and PP supplementation . All mice were fed with corresponding diets for two weeks and then were exposed to a simulated altitude of 6 000 meters for 8 h, except for the normal group. Nuclear magnetic resonance analysis was used to identify the changes of serum metabolic profiles. Results There were significant changes in some serum metabolites under induced acute hypoxia, essentially relative increase in the concentrations of lactate, sugar and lipids and decrease in ethanol. The serum levels of choline, succinate, taurine, alanine, and glutamine also increased and phosphocholine decreased in the acute hypoxia group. After vitamins B1, B2, and PP supplementation, all these metabolic changes gradually recovered. Conclusion Significant changes in serum metabolic profile were observed by metabolomics in mice exposed to acute hypoxia, and vitamins B1, B2, and PP supplementation proved to be beneficial to improving some metabolic pathways. It is suggested that the dietary intakes of vitamins B1, B2, and PP should be increased under hypoxia condition. 展开更多

To date,metformin remains the first-line oral glucose-lowering drug used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes thanks to its well-established long-term safety and efficacy profile.Indeed,metformin is the most widely used oral insulinsensitizing agent,being prescribed to more than 100 million people worldwide,including patients with prediabetes,insulin resistance,and polycystic ovary syndrome.However,over the last decades several observational studies and meta-analyses have reported a significant association between long-term metformin therapy and an increased prevalence of vitamin B12 deficiency.Of note,evidence suggests that long-term and high-dose metformin therapy impairs vitamin B12 status.Vitamin B12(also referred to as cobalamin)is a water-soluble vitamin that is mainly obtained from animal-sourced foods.At the cellular level,vitamin B12 acts as a cofactor for enzymes that play a critical role in DNA synthesis and neuroprotection.Thus,vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to a number of clinical consequences that include hematologic abnormalities(e.g.,megaloblastic anemia and formation of hypersegmented neutrophils),progressive axonal demyelination and peripheral neuropathy.Nevertheless,no definite guidelines are currently available for vitamin B12 deficiency screening in patients on metformin therapy,and vitamin B12 deficiency remains frequently unrecognized in such individuals.Therefore,in this“field of vision”article we propose a list of criteria for a cost-effective vitamin B12 deficiency screening in metformin-treated patients,which could serve as a practical guide for identifying individuals at high risk for this condition.Moreover,we discuss additional relevant topics related to this field,including:(1)The lack of consensus about the exact definition of vitamin B12 deficiency;(2)The definition of reliable biomarkers of vitamin B12 status;(3)Causes of vitamin B12 deficiency other than metformin therapy that should be identified promptly in metformin-treated patients for a proper differential diagnosis;and(4)Potential pathophysiological mechanisms underlying metformin-induced vitamin B12 deficiency.Finally,we briefly review basic concepts related to vitamin B12 supplementation for the treatment of vitamin B12 deficiency,particularly when this condition is induced by metformin. 展开更多

Objective To estimate the association between three B-vitamin intakes and sociodemographic factors among adults in China.Methods We derived our data from the China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS) among 12,241 individuals aged 18–64 years. Log binomial regression was used to estimate adjusted prevalence ratios for factors associated with the inadequate intake of B-vitamins.Results Females with low incomes and living in the north had a higher prevalence of inadequate riboflavin intake than those with high incomes and living in the south. Both males and females living in a village had a higher prevalence of inadequate riboflavin intake than adults living in a city. Adults with low income, low education, and living in the north or in a village had a higher prevalence of inadequate niacin intake than adults with a high income, high education, and living in the south or in a city.Conclusion We found that income, region, and area of residence were associated with riboflavin intake. Education, income, region, and area of residence were associated with niacin intake. Welltailored strategies and policies are needed to improve nutritional status in China. 展开更多

Diabetes mellitus(DM)is still one of the most common diseases worldwide,and its prevalence is still increasing globally.According to the American and European recommendations,metformin is considered a first-line oral hypoglycemic drug for controlling type 2 DM(T2DM)patients.Metformin is the ninth most often prescribed drug in the world,and at least 120 million diabetic people are estimated to receive the drug.In the last 20 years,there has been increasing evidence of vitamin B12 deficiency among metformin-treated diabetic patients.Many studies have reported that vitamin B12 deficiency is related to the malabsorption of vitamin B12 among metformin-treated T2DM patients.Vitamin B12 deficiency may have a very bad complication for the T2DM patient.In this review,we will focus on the effect of metformin on the absorption of vitamin B12 and on its proposed mechanisms in hindering vitamin B12 absorption.In addition,the review will describe the clinical outcomes of vitamin B12 deficiency in metformintreated T2DM. 展开更多

The current experiment was conducted for the simultaneous determination of several water-soluble vitamins like ribo- flavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3), pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) and pyridoxine (vitamin B6) in five highly con- sumed local leafy vegetables named as bottle gourd leaves (Lagenaria vulgaris) (local name Lau shak), green amaranth leaves (Amaranthus viridis) (local name Data shak), red amaranth leaves (Amaranthus gangeticuss) (local name Lal shak), Indian spinach (Basella alba) (local name Pui shak) and bitter gourd leaves (Momordica charantia) (local name Korola shak). The analyses were performed by HPLC using an analytical reversed phase C-18 (ODS column, 250 × 4.6 mm, 5 μm, Phenomenex, Inc.) column with the mobile phase consisting of a mixture of buffer (hexane sulphonic acid sodium, potassium dihydrogen phosphate and triethylamine, pH 3.0) and methanol in the ratio of 96:4 (v/v) at a flow rate of 1 mL/min with UV detection at 210 nm. The retention times for the vitamins were obtained as 3.61 min, 6.37 min, 9.51 min and 11.51 min for Vitamins B2, B3, B5 and B6, respectively. These obtained values of the vitamins were compared with the values available in published literatures of Deshio Khaddar Pustiman (DKPM), Indian food value (IFV) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). 展开更多

Under the condition of weak acidity of pH 5.2, a sensitive vitamin B2 electrochemical sensor based on molecularly imprinted nonconducting polymer of o-aminophenol by potentiostatic polymerization in the presence of template(vitamin B2) on a glassy carbon electrode was prepared, and its performance was studied. The sensor exhibited good sensitivity and selectivity to VB2. The detection limit went down to 2.3851nM, and a linear relationship between the current incremental and the concentration was found in the range of 10~120nM. And the sensor could use in detection of VB2 real sample for a long time and show good reproducibility. The average recovery rate to VB2 was 98.41%. 展开更多

A high performance liquid chromatographic assay has been developed for the simultaneous determination of five water soluble vitamins:thimine, riboflavin, niacin, pyridoxine and folic acid in cereal products and fresh vegetables. Food samples were hydrolyzed in 0.4 mol/L HCl, autoclaved at 120℃ 15 psi for 20 minutes, using a μ-Bondapak column (3.9×300mm, Waters Co.), a mobile phase of methanol-water (30:70) (0.005 mol/L heptanesulfonic acid) and a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min gave the most satisfactory separation of the five water soluble vitamins. A double channel deteetion was used: four vitamins (B_5, folic acid, B_2, B_1) were detected hy UV spectrophotometry (254 nm) first, pyridoxine (B_6) was detected by fluoromelry (EX 290nm, EM 395 nm) afterwards. Detection limits were 2, 5, 5, 2and 5ng, linear ranges were 5-10ng, 5-50ng, 5-40ng, 5-50ng and 10-50ng for B_1, B_2, B_5, B_6 and folic acid respectively. Recoveries were 92-100%(B_5), 51-52% (folio acid), 103—105% (B_2), 99—100% (B_6) and 91.3—102% (B_1) respectively. In comparison with a reference method and checking with food composition tables, very satisfactory results were obtained by this method. 展开更多

本试验旨在研究维生素B2对5~16周龄五龙鹅生长性能、血清激素含量和肠道组织结构的影响,以确定鹅饲粮中维生素B2的适宜添加水平。试验选用29日龄五龙鹅360只,随机分为6个组,每组6个重复,每个重复10只。Ⅰ组为对照组,饲喂基础饲粮(维生... 本试验旨在研究维生素B2对5~16周龄五龙鹅生长性能、血清激素含量和肠道组织结构的影响,以确定鹅饲粮中维生素B2的适宜添加水平。试验选用29日龄五龙鹅360只,随机分为6个组,每组6个重复,每个重复10只。Ⅰ组为对照组,饲喂基础饲粮(维生素B2含量为2.47 mg/kg),Ⅱ~Ⅵ组分别饲喂在基础饲粮中添加2.5、5.0、10.0、20.0、40.0 mg/kg维生素B2的试验饲粮。试验期12周。结果表明:1)采用不相关比较法进行分析,饲粮维生素B2添加水平为5.69 mg/kg时平均日增重(ADG)最大,饲粮维生素B2添加水平为5.64 mg/kg时料重比(F/G)最低。2)Ⅲ组血清生长激素(GH)、游离三碘甲腺原氨酸(FT3)、游离甲状腺素(FT4)、胰岛素(INS)含量显著高于Ⅰ组(P〈0.05)。3)Ⅲ组肠道绒毛高度、隐窝深度、绒毛高度/隐窝深度(V/C)显著或极显著高于Ⅰ组(P〈0.05或P〈0.01)。4)ADG与FT4含量呈显著正相关(P〈0.05),F/G与GH、FT3、FT4和INS含量呈显著或极显著负相关(P〈0.05或P〈0.01)。5)ADG与绒毛高度呈显著正相关(P〈0.05),F/G与绒毛高度、隐窝深度呈显著负相关( P〈0.05)。由此可见,饲粮添加5.0 mg/kg维生素B2对5-16周龄五龙鹅的体重、ADG、F/G和血清GH、FT3、FT4、INS含量及肠道绒毛高度、隐窝深度、V/C有显著影响,以生长性能为衡量标准,建议玉米-豆粕型饲粮中维生素B2适宜添加水平为5.64~5.69 mg/kg。 展开更多

目的探讨B族维生素在2型糖尿病(diabetes mellitus,type 2,T2DM)患者血浆中的水平差异并分析其与糖尿病肾病(diabetic nephropathy,DN)进展的关联性。方法选取2017年1月—2017年8月同济大学附属同济医院诊断为T2DM的住院患者209例,根据... 目的探讨B族维生素在2型糖尿病(diabetes mellitus,type 2,T2DM)患者血浆中的水平差异并分析其与糖尿病肾病(diabetic nephropathy,DN)进展的关联性。方法选取2017年1月—2017年8月同济大学附属同济医院诊断为T2DM的住院患者209例,根据肾小球滤过率(glomerular filtration rate,GFR)和尿微量白蛋白的排泄率(urinary albumin excretion rates,UAER)将209例患者分为糖尿病无肾病组(n=99)、糖尿病轻度肾病组(n=70)和糖尿病中重度肾病组(n=40)。比较3组患者的维生素B_1(VitB_1)、维生素B_2(VitB_2)、维生素B_6(VitB_6)、叶酸(VitB_9)、维生素B_(12)(VitB_(12))及其他临床生化指标的含量,并进行相关性分析。结果 3组T2DM患者的白蛋白(albumin,ALB)、VitB_6、VitB_9、VitB_(12)水平随肾脏病变程度的加重而降低,差异有统计学意义(P<0. 05),同型半胱氨酸(homocysteine,Hcy)水平随肾脏病变程度的加重而升高,差异有统计学意义(P<0. 05); 3组T2DM患者的ALB水平与VitB_9、VitB_(12)水平均呈正相关关系(r=0. 198,P<0. 05; r=0. 205,P<0. 05),Hcy水平与VitB_9、VitB_(12)水平呈负相关关系(r=-0. 414,P<0. 001; r=-0. 276,P<0. 05); VitB_2水平与腰臀比(waist-tohip ratio,WHR)水平呈正相关关系(r=0. 150,P<0. 05)。结论 Hcy、VitB9及VitB_(12)水平与T2DM患者的肾病进展密切相关,监测糖尿病患者的Hcy、VitB_9及VitB_(12)的含量有助于临床预测、判断DN的进展。 展开更多

目的观察2型糖尿病(T2DM)周围神经病变患者外周血维生素B 1(VitB 1)水平变化,分析VitB 1与糖尿病周围神经病变(DPN)及其他临床指标的相关性。方法选取2017年9月至2018年5月就诊于河南省人民医院的354例T2DM患者。根据DPN的诊断标准将研... 目的观察2型糖尿病(T2DM)周围神经病变患者外周血维生素B 1(VitB 1)水平变化,分析VitB 1与糖尿病周围神经病变(DPN)及其他临床指标的相关性。方法选取2017年9月至2018年5月就诊于河南省人民医院的354例T2DM患者。根据DPN的诊断标准将研究对象分为单纯糖尿病组(Non-DPN组,237例)和糖尿病周围神经病变组(DPN组,117例)。收集两组患者的一般情况,检测生化指标及维生素水平。比较两组患者血清VitB 1水平与双侧腓肠神经的感觉神经传导速度(SNCV)、双侧胫后神经的运动神经传导速度(MNCV)及其他各临床指标的相关性;应用Logistic回归模型分析DPN的危险因素。结果Non-DPN组与DPN组VitB 1、VitB 6、VitB 12、糖化血红蛋白(HbA1c)、总胆固醇(TC)及尿微量白蛋白/肌酐比(A/C)水平比较,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。血清VitB 1水平与HbA1c、总白细胞数量、间接胆红素水平呈显著负相关,与腓肠神经的SNCV、胫后神经的MNCV、VitB 6、VitB 9及VitB 12水平呈显著正相关(P<0.05)。Logistic回归模型显示,VitB 1和VitB 12是DPN的保护因素,病史和HbA1c是DPN的危险因素。结论血清VitB 1水平与T2DM神经病变密切相关,VitB 1是DPN的独立保护因素。 展开更多

目的:观察康复新液联合重组人表皮生长因子(rh EGF)外用溶液治疗维生素B_(12)缺乏型萎缩性舌炎的临床疗效及安全性。方法:将2012年7月-2015年6月于新疆生产建设兵团医院接受治疗的94例维生素B_(12)缺乏型萎缩性舌炎患者按随机数字表法... 目的:观察康复新液联合重组人表皮生长因子(rh EGF)外用溶液治疗维生素B_(12)缺乏型萎缩性舌炎的临床疗效及安全性。方法:将2012年7月-2015年6月于新疆生产建设兵团医院接受治疗的94例维生素B_(12)缺乏型萎缩性舌炎患者按随机数字表法分为观察组和对照组,各47例。两组患者均给予补充维生素B_(12)等对因治疗;对照组患者加用rh EGF外用溶液喷洒于舌表面,qid;观察组患者在对照组治疗基础上加用康复新液,将药液浸透于医用纱布上贴敷于患处,每次贴敷30 min以上,tid。两组疗程均为4周,每周复诊1次。比较两组患者的临床疗效、治疗前后的平均疼痛指数和舌部病损面积,以及不良反应发生情况。结果:观察组患者的治愈率(76.6%vs.57.4%)和总有效率(97.9%vs.83.0%)均明显高于对照组,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。治疗前,两组患者的平均疼痛指数和舌部病损面积比较,差异均无统计学意义(P>0.05);治疗后1~4周,两组患者的平均疼痛指数明显降低,舌部病损面积均明显减小,与治疗前比较差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05);且观察组患者的平均疼痛指数明显低于对照组(治疗后3、4周),舌部病损面积明显小于对照组(治疗后2~4周),差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。两组患者均未见明显不良反应发生。结论:康复新液联合rh EGF外用溶液治疗维生素B_(12)缺乏型萎缩性舌炎能明显改善患者舌部病损情况,并具有较好的镇痛效应和安全性。 展开更多
