Effect of Low Dose Samarium Chloride on Serum Hormone Level in Rat

Low dose of samarium chloride was injected into rat(0.05 mg/kg) every other day through three different routes i.e. peritioneal injection, gastric slysis and caudal vein injection. One month later. Serum GH, THT3, THT... Low dose of samarium chloride was injected into rat(0.05 mg/kg) every other day through three different routes i.e. peritioneal injection, gastric slysis and caudal vein injection. One month later. Serum GH, THT3, THT4 and insulin were determined by using radio-immunity assay. The results demonstrated that both serum GH and insulin raised remarkably in experimental groups. THT4 raised only in peritioneal injection group. Besides these, the four different serum hormones showed no obvious change when the dose of samarium chloride decreased to 0.025 mg/kg with caudal vein injection. 展开更多

The levels of thyroxine (T3, T4) and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) in rat serum were measured by radioimmunoassay, and also ultrastructure of the thyroid gland and adenohypophyseal cell were examined by transmission electronic microscopy (TEM) after low concentration (0. 05 mg/kg) of samarium chloride (SmCl3) administration by intraperitoneal, oral and tail intravenous routes. The results showed that the level of T4 in rat serum increased and the level of TSH unchanged by the intraperitoneal administration, and the levels of T3, T4 and TSH did not increase by the oral and tail intravenous administration. The evidences mentioned above were in accord with the morphological changes of thyroid follicular epithelial cells andadenohypophysis thyrotroph observed under electronic microscope in a sense. 展开更多

The in-dustrial experiments have been completed on a production line of 150 t Nd_2O_3 per annum in the Baotou ThirdRare Earth Factory. As a result of 9 step counter current extraction , Sm_2 O_3 content in Nd_2 O_3 drops down to0. 08 % from 0. 5% , the purity of neodymium oxide is over 99. 5% and the direct recovery of Nd_2O_3 is 92%~ 93% . 展开更多
