The situation, in which absorbers are located at different depths with respect to the limited-view scanning trajectory, is called depth imaging and is investigated in this paper. The results show that limited-view scanning causes the reconstructed intensity of deep absorbers to be weaker than that of shallow ones and that deep absorbers will be invisible if the scanning range is too small. The concept of effective scanning angle is proposed to analyse that phenomenon. We find that an effective scanning angle can well predict the relationship between scanning angle and the intensity ratio of absorbers. In addition, limited-view scanning is employed to improve image quality.展开更多

First, the working principle and working sequence of the FSM are briefly analyzed. The mathematical model of the FSM system is built by modeling its dynamic and electrical properties, and the rationality of the model is validated by means of model identification. Second, the influence of external sources of disturbance such as the carrier and moment on the control precision of the FSM is effectively suppressed by the jointly controlling of proportional integral(PI)and disturbance observer(DOB), thus realizing a high precision and strong robustness control of the FSM system. Then, this paper designs an experimental prototype and introduces a special optical structure to enable the infrared camera to share the FSM with the visible light camera. Finally, the influence of the velocity difference between the mirror of the FSM and the rotating platform on the imaging quality of the system is experimentally analyzed by using the image sharpness evaluation method based on point sharpness. A good dynamic scanning and staring imaging result is achieved when the velocity of these two components correspond.展开更多

METHODS: MDCT scanning and baseline MRI with SE T1-WI and T2-WI sequence combined with FMPSPGR sequence were performed in 37 patients with 43 small HCCs. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were plotted to analyze the results for modality. RESULTS: The areas below ROC curve (Az) were calculated. There was no statistical difference in dynamic enhancement MDCT and MRI. The detection rate of small HCC was 97.5%-97.6% on multiphase MDCT scanning and 90.7%-94.7% on MRI, respectively. The sensitivity of detection for small HCC on MDCT scanning was higher than that on dynamic enhancement MRI. The sensitivity of detection for minute HCC (tumor diameter ≤ 1 cm) was 90.0%-95.0% on MDCT scanning and 70.0%-85.0% on MRI, respectively. CONCLUSION: MDCT scanning should be performed for early detection and effective treatment of small HCC in patients with chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis during follow-up.展开更多

H...Scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM) has been shown as powerful tools for material characterization, especially after the appearance of aberration-corrector which greatly enhances the resolution of STEM. High angle annular dark field(HAADF) and annular bright field(ABF) imaging of the aberration-corrected STEM are widely used due to their high-resolution capabilities and easily interpretable image contrasts. However, HAADF mode of the STEM is still limited in detecting light elements due to the weak electron-scattering power. ABF mode of the STEM could detect light and heavy elements simultaneously, providing unprecedented opportunities for probing unknown structures of materials. Atomiclevel structure investigation of materials has been achieved by means of these imaging modes, which is invaluable in many fields for either improving properties of materials or developing new materials. This paper aims to provide a introduction of HAADF and ABF imaging techniques and reviews their applications in characterization of cathode materials, study of electrochemical reaction mechanisms, and exploring the effective design of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs). The future prospects of the STEM are also discussed.展开更多

Histological techniques have many drawbacks including an enormous manual workload and poor image registration. Micro-magnetic resonance imaging(Micro-MRI), an emerging radiology technique, has been used to report results in the brain, liver and tumor tissues. However, micro-MRI usage for obtaining intraneural structures has not been reported. The aim of this study was to present a new imaging method for three-dimensional reconstruction of peripheral nerve fascicles by ~1T micro-MRI. Freshly harvested sciatic nerve samples from an amputated limb were divided into four groups. Two different scanning conditions(Mannerist Solution/GD-DTPA contrast agent, distilled water) were selected, and both T1 and T2 phases programmed for each scanning condition. Three clinical surgeons evaluated the quality of the images via a standardized scale. Moreover, to analyze deformation of the two-dimensional image, the nerve diameter and total area of the micro-MRI images were compared after hematoxylin-eosin staining. The results show that rapid micro-MRI imaging method can be used for three-dimensional reconstruction of the fascicle structure. Nerve sample immersed in contrast agent(Mannerist Solution/GD-DTPA) and scanned in the T1 phase was the best. Moreover, the nerve sample was scanned freshly and can be recycled for other procedures. MRI images show better stability and smaller deformation compared with histological images. In conclusion, micro-MRI provides a feasible and rapid method for three-dimensional reconstruction of peripheral nerve fascicles, which can clearly show the internal structure of the peripheral nerve.展开更多

文摘Photoacoustic imaging is a potential candidate for in vivo brain imaging, whereas, its imaging performance could be degraded by inhomogeneous multi-layered media, consisted of scalp and skull. In this work,we propose a low-artifact photoacoustic microscopy(LAPAM)scheme, which combines conventional acoustic-resolution photoacoustic microscopy with scanning acoustic microscopy to suppress the reflection artifacts induced by multi-layers.Based on similar propagation characteristics of photoacoustic signals and ultrasonic echoes, the ultrasonic echoes can be employed as the filters to suppress the reflection artifacts to obtain low-artifact photoacoustic images.Phantom experiment is used to validate the effectiveness of this method.Furthermore,LAPAM is applied for in-vivo imaging mouse brain without removing the scalp and the skull.Experimental results show that the proposed method successfully achieves the low-artifact brain image, which demonstrates the practical applicability of LAPAM.This work might improve the photoacoustic imaging quality in many biomedical applications which involve tissues with complex acoustic properties, such as brain imaging through scalp and skull.

文摘We study the influence of limited-view scanning on the depth imaging of photoacoustic tomography. In addition, limited-view scanning is employed to improve image quality.

文摘This paper presents the design of an experimental battlefield dynamic scanning and staring imaging system based on a fast steering mirror(FSM), which is capable of real-time monitoring of hot targets and wide-area reconnaissance of hot regions. A good dynamic scanning and staring imaging result is achieved when the velocity of these two components correspond.

文摘AIM: To compare the gadolinium-enhanced multiphase dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and multiphase multirow-detector helical CT (MDCT) scanning for detection of small hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). CONCLUSION: MDCT scanning should be performed for early detection and effective treatment of small HCC in patients with chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis during follow-up.

文摘Scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM) has been shown as powerful tools for material characterization, especially after the appearance of aberration-corrector which greatly enhances the resolution of STEM. The future prospects of the STEM are also discussed.

文摘Based on a large amount of dissection at welded interface and quantitative microscopic examination of welded rate, the suitable limit grey scale value was determined, and the welded rate of superplastic solid state welding interface of heterogeneous steel was systematically studied by means of self made ultrasonic C scanning imaging inspection system. The experimental results show: the welded state of superplastic solid state welding interface of heterogeneous steel can be conducted to be more accurately, reliably and quickly inspected by means of this system, and the ultrasonic testing results are good consistent with actual examination results of the interface defective distribution. Within the extent of the suitble welded rate, the welded rate in 40Cr/T10A superplastic welding process tested by this system is linear with its tensile strength of joint.
文摘Objective: The aim of our study was to analysis the pictures of conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MR), diffusion-weighted imaging (DWl) and dynamic enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DEMRI) of pancreatic endocrine tumors (PETs), and evaluate diagnostic value of MR, DWl and DEMRI for diagnosing PETs. Methods: DWl and DEMRI scanning toward 13 patients with PETs being confirmed by surgical pathology before surgery on the basis of conventional MR scanning were carried out, and MR findings was analyzed retrospectively. Results: Of 13 patients with PETs there was 11 cases with single lesion, 2 with multiple, and had 15 lesions altogether, of which there were 3 lesions in pancreatic head, 1 in its neck, 2 in its body, 4 in its body and tail, 5 in its tail. MR findings: (1) T1WI signal was low or slightly lower (9/15), and equal ones (5/15); (2) T2WI showed high or slightly higher signal (10/15), and equal ones (5/15); (3) T1WI with fat suppression: the signal was low (11/15), mixed signal (2/15), and equal ones (2/15); (4) DWI: normal pancreatic tissue exhibited homogeneous intermediate signal, all 15 lesions were high or slightly higher signal, the measured ADC values of tissue of PETs was (1.124 ± 0.252) × 104 mm2/s, and the ADC value of normal pancreatic tissue (1.873 ± 0.157) × 10^3 mm2/s; (5) Enhanced (M3D/LAVA) scanning: among 13 patients with PETs there were 12 pancreatic lesions with significantly enhanced signals in the arterial phase in all 15, and significantly higher than normal pancreatic tissue, and two slight enhancement was slightly higher signal; and 1 no enhancement. Enhanced pattern: homogeneous enhancement were 6 lesions, and the heterogeneous 4, and the edge ring 5. Conclusion: MR and DWl combining with DEMRI help qualitative diagnosis of pancreatic endocrine tumors.

文摘Photoacoustic imaging, which can provide the maximum intensity contrast in tissue depth imaging without ionizing radiation, will be a promising imaging trend for tumor detection. In this paper,a column diffusionfiber was employed to carry a pulsed laser for irradiating stomach directly through esophagus based on the characteristics of gastric tissue structure.A long focused ultrasonic transducer was placed outside the body to detect photoacoustic signals of gastric tissue.Phantom and in vitro experiments of submucosal gastric tumors were carried out to check the sensitivity of scanning photoacoustic tomography system, including the lateral and longitudinal resolution of the system, sensitivity of different absorption coefficient in imaging, capability of transversal detection, and probability of longitudinal detection. The results demonstrate that our innovative technique can improve the parameters of imaging. The lateral resolution reaches 2.09 mm.Then a depth of 5.5mm with a longitudinal accuracy of 0.36mm below gastric mucosa of early gastric cancer(EGC)has been achieved. In addition, the optimal absorption coefficient differences among absorbers of system are 3.3-3.9 times. Results indicate that our photoacoustic imaging(PAI)system,is based on a long focusing transducer, can provide a potential application for detecting submucosal EGC without obvious symptoms.

文摘Spectroscopic measurements and terahertz imaging of the cornea are carried out by using a rapid scanning terahertz time domain spectroscopy(THz-TDS) system.A voice coil motor stage based optical delay line(VCM-ODL) is developed to provide a rather simple and robust structure with both the high scanning speed and the large delay length. The developed system is used for THz spectroscopic measurements and imaging of the corneal tissue with different amounts of water content, and the measurement results show the consistence with the reported results,in which the measurement time using VCM-ODL is a factor of 360 shorter than the traditional motorized optical delay line(MDL).With reducing the water content a monotonic decrease of the complex permittivity of the cornea is observed. The two-term Debye relaxation model is employed to explain our experimental results, revealing that the fast relaxation time of a dehydrated cornea is much larger than that of a hydrated cornea and its dielectric behavior can be affected by the presence of the biological macromolecules. These results demonstrate that our THz spectrometer may be a promising candidate for tissue hydration sensing and practical application of THz technology.

文摘The most common methods for three-dimensional reconstruction of peripheral nerve fascicles include histological and radiology techniques. In conclusion, micro-MRI provides a feasible and rapid method for three-dimensional reconstruction of peripheral nerve fascicles, which can clearly show the internal structure of the peripheral nerve.
