Scientometric analysis and mapping of 20 years of glaucoma research

AIM：To provide a scientometric analysis in the field of glaucoma.METHODS：A bibliometric method was used to obtain a view of the scientific production in field of glaucoma by data extracted from the Institute for Scientific Information（ISI） from 1993 to 2013.Specific parameters were retrieved from the ISI.Articles about glaucoma were analyzed regarding the topics＇ structure,history,and document relationships using HistCite software.Also,the trends in the most influential publications and authors were analyzed.RESULTS：The number of articles was constantly increasing,and most highly cited articles addressed clinical and epidemiologic topics in this field.During the past three years,there has been a trend towards genomic research studies and also more molecular translational research.CONCLUSION：This was the first scientometric report on glaucoma,analyzing the characteristics of papers and the trends in scientific production.A constant increase was observed in the number of papers,while the subject of papers had a shift in the past three years towards genomic research studies.

Advances and key focus areas in gastric cancer immunotherapy:A comprehensive scientometric and clinical trial review(1999-2023)

BACKGROUND Gastric cancer(GC)is the sixth most common cancer and third leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide.Current treatments mainly rely on surgery-and chemotherapy-based systemic;however,the prognosis remains poor for advanced disease.Recent studies have suggested that immunotherapy has significant potential in cancer therapy;thus,GC immunotherapy may improve quality of life and survival for patients with this disease.AIM To provide a comprehensive overview of the knowledge structure and research hotspots of GC immunotherapy.METHODS We conducted a bibliometric analysis of publications on immunotherapy related to GC in the Web of Science Core Collection database.We analyzed 2013 publications from 1999 to February 1,2023,using the VOSviewer and CiteSpace software.We assessed publication and citation distributions using the WoS platform and explored research countries,institutions,journals,authors,references,and keywords(co-occurrence,timeline view,and burst analysis).In addition,we examined 228 trials on immunotherapy,137 on adoptive cell therapy,274 on immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs),and 23 on vaccines from ClinicalTrials.gov and the International Clinical Trials Registry Platform.The Impact Index Per Article for the top ten high-cited papers collected from Reference Citation Analysis(RCA)are presented.RESULTS Our bibliometric analysis revealed that the study of immunotherapy in GC has developed rapidly in recent years.China accounted for almost half the publications,followed by the United States.The number of publications in recent years has been growing continuously,and most institutions and authors with the most publications are from China.The main keywords or clusters identified were“tumor microenvironment”,“adoptive immunotherapy”,“dendritic therapy”,and“microsatellite instability”.CONCLUSION Our analysis of 2013 publications indicated that immunotherapy for GC has led to several new developments in recent years.Considerable progress has been made in vaccinations,immune checkpoint therapy,and adoptive cellular therapy.In particular,ICIs and chimeric antigen receptor T-cells are novel options for the treatment of GC.We suggest that the combination of ICIs,chemotherapy,targeted therapy,and other immunotherapies should be the primary research direction in the future.

Citation analysis of the scientific publications of Britton Chance in ISI citation indexes

Britton Chance was a pioneer in many scientifc fields such as enzymatic reaction kinetis,bioenergetics,metabolism,in vivo NMr,and biophotonics.As an engineer,physical chemist,physicist,physiologist,biophysicist,biochemist,innovator and educator,he had worked indiversifed fields over extended periods bet ween 1926 until his death in 2010,at the age of 97.Inorder to illustrate his scientific career and great impact on research from a new perspective,weemploy scientometric analysis tools to analyze the publications of Britton Chance with datadownloaded from the ISI Citation Indexes in April 2013.We included articles,reviews andproceding papers but excluded meeting abstracts.In total,we obtained 1023 publication recordswith 1236 authors in 266 joumals with 17,114 citations from 1945 to 2013.We show the annualpublications and citations that Britton Chance received from 1945 to 2013,and generate HistCitemaps on the basis of the global citations(GCS)and local(sel)citations(LCS)to show thecitation relationships among the top-30 publications of Britton Chance.Metabolism and the development of physical methods to probe it appear to be the commecting thread of the lifelongresearch of Britton Chance.Furthermore,we generate the joumal map and co-authorship maptoshow the broad scope of research topics and collaborators and the high impacts of the scientificoeuvre of Britton Chance ranging from physics,engineering,chemistry and biology to medicine.

Worldwide trends in the scientific production of literature on traceability in food safety:A bibliometric analysis

Food traceability is an important aspect of the food safety supply chain to ensure efficient tracking of produce to check contamination and other foodborne diseases.The health and nutrition response after the Covid-19 pandemic requires a robust and diverse food supply chain in which traceability could play a major role.Since it is an emerging field of study with growing interest in the technological front,it is important to study the scientific trend and research activities.This study provides an important insight into the food safety value chain response towardsmodern food safetymanagement systems through scientometric analysis.Scopus databasewas used to retrieve the documents from the year 1992–2021.The research papers and conference paperswere only chosen.Vosviewer software was used to carry out the scientometric analysis.The distribution and growth trend of documents,country-level distribution of publications,the relationship between authors and co-authors,etc.,were analyzed.The intensity of publications from different countries and the collaborations was analyzed using bibliometrix R-package.The year-wise research publication showed a rapid increase in the researchers conducted on traceability systems to enhance food safety from 2014 onwards,mainly from the USA and China.However,the research appeared to be in the developing phase compared to other technology implementation and automation advancements.

A systematic literature review of human-centered design approach in single pilot operations

Single Pilot Operations(SPO),as a NextGen concept of operation,can save both crew costs and human resources for airlines,and has attracted the attention of aviation researchers.To explore in advance the problems that the introduction of SPO into the aviation system would bring,the Human-Centered Design(HCD)approach has been widely used in the development of SPO.A systematic review of the progress of HCD approach in SPO research can promote further development of SPO.In this paper,the literature resources of SPO were firstly retrieved from scientific research databases by subject search and were used as the input of scientometric analysis to obtain the highly cited literature,the number of annual publications,and the co-authorship network,which enables readers to understand the research trends and research groups of current SPO.Secondly,the development,application,and research process of the HCD approach were introduced in detail,and the progress of the HCD approach in SPO research was reviewed systematically from three aspects:concept design,function allocation,and system evaluation.Finally,limitations of current SPO research and future research directions for applying the HCD approach to SPO were also discussed.

Are public‒private partnerships still an answer for social infrastructure?A systematic literature review

Social infrastructure has become an important element for measuring national economic development and social benefits that are usually financed in the form of government grants,private investment,and public‒private partnerships(PPPs).However,social infrastructure PPPs have attracted considerable public debate due to their low profitability and complex operational demands.This study aims to answer the question,“are PPPs still an answer for social infrastructure?”,from the perspectives of the body of knowledge,application status,and prospects.Initially,an iterative search and review procedure and a scientometric analysis were performed to systematically screen the literature and to structure the body of knowledge of the social infrastructure PPPs literature.Furthermore,the application status and trends were analyzed to further explore the studied countries/regions,application sectors,and research topics.Results show that PPPs still have valuable application potential for delivering social infrastructure despite their mixed results across different topics.Six main research themes and the corresponding research trends were also identified,namely,financing and economics viability,risk management,performance management,contract and relationship management,governance and regulation,and facilitating and hindering factors.These findings offer practitioners and researchers a comprehensive overview and constructive guidance on social infrastructure PPPs.
