It is shown that the problem is closely related to a type of so-called second-order Sylvester matrix equations. Through establishing two general parametric solutions to this type of matrix equations, two complete parametric methods for the proposed eigenstructure assignment problem are presented. Both methods give simple complete parametric expressions for the feedback gains and the closed-loop eigenvector matrices. The first one mainly depends on a series of singular value decompositions, and is thus numerically simple and reliable; the second one utilizes the right factorization of the system, and allows the closed-loop eigenvalues to be set undetermined and sought via certain optimization procedures. The topologies that characterize the interaction among the leaders and the followers are directed graphs. Necessary and sufficient criteria which guarantee the control objectives are established for both stationary leaders(regulation case) and dynamic leaders(dynamic tracking case) based protocols. The final states of all the followers are exclusively determined by the initial values of the leaders and the topology structures. In the regulation case, all the followers converge into the convex hull spanned by the leaders, while in the dynamic tracking case, not only the positions of the followers converge into the convex hull but also the velocities of the followers converge into the velocity convex hull of the leaders. Finally, all the theoretical results are illustrated by numerical simulations.展开更多

The material is represented by the constitutive equations for a second-order fluid. Closed-form solutions under the consideration of long wavelength and low Reynolds number is presented. The analytical expressions for the pressure gradient, pressure rise, friction force, stream function, shear stress, and velocity are obtained in the physical domain. The effects of the non-dimensional wave amplitude, porosity, magnetic field, rotation, and the dimensionless time-mean flow in the wave frame are analyzed theoretically and computed numerically. Numerical results are given and illustrated graphically in each case considered. Comparison was made with the results obtained in the presence and absence of rotation, magnetic field, and porosity. The results indicate that the effects of the non-dimensional wave amplitude, porosity, magnetic field, rotation, and the dimensionless time-mean flow are very pronounced in the phenomena.展开更多

Calculation results showed TPC and TPP have C1 and D2h symmetry, respectively when N-H protons are localized on the nitrogen atoms. TPC is the second-order NLO active chromophore due to the cancellation of centrosymmetrical structure and its first hyperpolarizability β increases to 11.524×10^-30 esu. Under electrical dipole approximation, βvalues of bis-corroles 1, 2, 3 and 4 vary from 9.831×10^-30 to 14.221×10^-30 esu, and no much improvement in the first hyperpolarizability was observed as compared to TPC monomer. However, β values of bis-corroles 1, 2, 3 and 4 are improved by about 4 times as compared to their bis-porphyrin counterparts. The analysis of β components indicates that β of this kind of bis-corroles is mainly contributed from its radial component βr. With the variation of amino acid side chains, βHRS, β,βxyz, βr and βa of bis-corroles change remarkably. Chiral L-amino acid bridged bis-corroles 2, 3 and 4 have a right-handed helix structure, and their chiral component βxyz matches βxyz ∝ r^2 ζ/L^4 (helix parameters), showing the second-order chiral NLO response of these bis-corroles could be described by one-electron helical model theory. It was found that the radial component βr of chiral helix bis-corroles also matches βr ∝ r^2 ζ/L^4.展开更多

The model’s response (<em>i.e.</em>, model result of interest) is a generic nonlinear function of the model’s forward and adjoint state functions, and also depends on the imprecisely known boundaries and model parameters. In the practically important particular case when the response is a scalar-valued functional of the forward and adjoint state functions characterizing a model comprising N parameters, the 2nd-CASAM requires a single large-scale computation using the First-Level Adjoint Sensitivity System (1st-LASS) for obtaining all of the first-order response sensitivities, and at most N large-scale computations using the Second-Level Adjoint Sensitivity System (2nd-LASS) for obtaining exactly all of the second-order response sensitivities. In contradistinction, forward other methods would require (<em>N</em>2/2 + 3 <em>N</em>/2) large-scale computations for obtaining all of the first- and second-order sensitivities. This work also shows that constructing and solving the 2nd-LASS requires very little additional effort beyond the construction of the 1st-LASS needed for computing the first-order sensitivities. Solving the equations underlying the 1st-LASS and 2nd-LASS requires the same computational solvers as needed for solving (<em>i.e.</em>, “inverting”) either the forward or the adjoint linear operators underlying the initial model. Therefore, the same computer software and “solvers” used for solving the original system of equations can also be used for solving the 1st-LASS and the 2nd-LASS. Since neither the 1st-LASS nor the 2nd-LASS involves any differentials of the operators underlying the original system, the 1st-LASS is designated as a “<u>first-level</u>” (as opposed to a “first-order”) adjoint sensitivity system, while the 2nd-LASS is designated as a “<u>second-level</u>” (rather than a “second-order”) adjoint sensitivity system. Mixed second-order response sensitivities involving boundary parameters may arise from all source terms of the 2nd-LASS that involve the imprecisely known boundary parameters. Notably, the 2nd-LASS encompasses an automatic, inherent, and independent “solution verification” mechanism of the correctness and accuracy of the 2nd-level adjoint functions needed for the efficient and exact computation of the second-order sensitivities.展开更多

We are using Abel’s methods, described by Armitage and Eberlein. The key is to start with a non-elementary integral function, differentiating and inverting, and then define a set of functions. Differentiating these functions twice give second-order nonlinear ODEs that have the defined set of functions as solutions.展开更多

文摘The second-order nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of 5,10,15-triphenylcorrole (TPC), 5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) and L-amino acid bridged bis-corroles 1,2,3 and 4 have been calculated by using TDHF/PM3 method based on the RHF/6-31G (TPC and TPP) or semiempirical PM3 (1, 2, 3, 4) optimized geometries. It was found that the radial component βr of chiral helix bis-corroles also matches βr ∝ r^2 ζ/L^4.
文摘This work presents the “Second-Order Comprehensive Adjoint Sensitivity Analysis Methodology (2nd-CASAM)” for the efficient and exact computation of 1st- and 2nd-order response sensitivities to uncertain parameters and domain boundaries of linear systems. Notably, the 2nd-LASS encompasses an automatic, inherent, and independent “solution verification” mechanism of the correctness and accuracy of the 2nd-level adjoint functions needed for the efficient and exact computation of the second-order sensitivities.
文摘In this paper, we define an exponential function whose exponent is the product of a real number and the upper limit of integration in a non-elementary integral that can be arbitrary. We are using Abel’s methods, described by Armitage and Eberlein. The key is to start with a non-elementary integral function, differentiating and inverting, and then define a set of functions. Differentiating these functions twice give second-order nonlinear ODEs that have the defined set of functions as solutions.
文摘This paper is devoted to the study of the linearization problem of system of three second-order ordinary differential equations and . The necessary conditions for linearization by general point transformation and are found. The sufficient conditions for linearization by restricted class of point transformation and are obtained. Moreover, the procedure for obtaining the linearizing transformation is provided in explicit forms. Examples demonstrating the procedure of using the linearization theorems are presented.
