On Students' Self-Evaluation and Class Performance——An Empirical Study in College English Class

This paper aims to demonstrate whether students'self-evaluations influence their class performance.A questionnaire is designed and data is collected from 30 sophomore students in English class.The data analysis shows that students who have positive self-evaluation perform better and get higher class performance scores than students who have negative self-evaluation.

Self-determinate evaluation method based on condition of weights non-dictatorial rate

The condition of weightes non-dictatorship is extended and a comprehensive evaluae method emboding self-determinate which is combined with competitive view optimization principles is built. The basic process includes simulating the model of economic man＇s self-benefit bahaviors, taking the place of experts to evaluate, bringing in the model of minimizing the sum of included angles to integrate the information of multiple objects and put the objects in order finally. The method has the advangtages of less dependendence on the subjective information, plenty of information, fair process and simple caculating. Finally, an application example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Self-Evaluation of Masters in Nursing Program: Postgraduates’ Networks

Background: To ensure quality and relevance of Postgraduate Programs are a commitment of the National Quality Postgraduate Programs (PNPC), and those from UNAM. Then, the self-evaluation of the Masters in Nursing Program (PME) is necessary for it to be part of the PNPC. This study focuses on self-evaluation of implementation mechanisms to assure effective communication and collaboration with and among graduated alumni. Methods: The research was qualitative, exploratory and descriptive. An informed consent was signed by four informants, graduated from the seventeenth generation of PME. Data collection from a focal group and descriptive data analysis by atlas.ti from guidance questions that were contrasted with the scale value from PME curriculum. Results: Four categories emerged from PME graduated alumni: Category I, Professional academic performance, Category II, International activities attendance, Category III, Academic networks, and Category IV, Higher satisfaction of international activities. Conclusions: It is concluded that self-evaluation shows a graduate’s vision of conditions and networks where PME develops. Masters in Nursing Program fulfills graduates expectancy to create networks, which will contribute to knowledge and recognition of professional practice, as well as on the area’ opportunities opening for better contributions.

A Self-evaluation of Classroom Language Used When Teaching Grammar

In the attempt to evaluate the quality of teacher talk,recent communicative approaches have suggested that the modification of teacher classroom speech and the functional distribution of teacher talk in terms of pedagogical goals should be considered(Seedhouse:1996).This study investigates the relationship between language use and pedagogic purpose from an analysis of a lesson transcript of a grammar lesson,and evaluates the quality of the teacher talk based on the Self-Evaluation of Teacher Talk(SETT)Grid.The purpose is to examine whether the teacher talk is appropriate in the classroom context or mode and to bring about a more conscious and effective use of teacher talk in her teaching profession in the future.

Self and Peer Evaluation in English Pronunciation Instruction

A case study was carried out to test the effects of self and peer evaluation in the process of English majors' English pro-nunciation teaching and learning. First-year English majors were directed to do self and peer evaluation, whose views on the evalu-ation experience were collected through individual talks and a questionnaire. The significant majority of subjects have found the re-flection helpful in promoting their English pronunciation learning and facilitating autonomy. However, problems rise with changesof teachers' roles in the class and their assessment on students' performance and learning progress.

Pulsed Eddy Current Non-destructive Testing and Evaluation:A Review

Pulsed eddy current （PEC） non-destructive test- ing and evaluation （NDT＆E） has been around for some time and it is still attracting extensive attention from researchers around the globe, which can be witnessed through the reports reviewed in this paper. Thanks to its richness of spectral components, various applications of this technique have been proposed and reported in the lit- erature covering both structural integrity inspection and material characterization in various industrial sectors. To support its development and for better understanding of the phenomena around the transient induced eddy currents, attempts for its modelling both analytically and numeri- cally have been made by researchers around the world. This review is an attempt to capture the state-of-the-art development and applications of PEC, especially in the last 15 years and it is not intended to be exhaustive. Future challenges and opportunities for PEC NDT＆E are also presented.

Self Evaluation in Department of Communicable Diseases, Faculty of Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences

Introduction: Self evaluation is a process that defines and collects required data to judge about decision making issues at educational system on whether the educational department is fit to educate students? The objective of this study was determining the quality of the structural elements of the department of Communicable Diseases & determining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to improve the quality of activities in the department under research. Materials and Methods: The employed method was Mixed methods (qualitative & quantitative research), on the basis of 10 procedural steps and within 8 sections dealing with evaluated factors;such as 1) organizational and management structure 2) scientific board members 3) students 4) Manpower 5) Space of educational research and health care 6) Equipment 7) curriculum 8) satisfaction of graduates, which were studied using 61 criteria and 172 indicators. Five-point Likert Scale was used for the responses in the questionnaire (1 - 1.75 = undesirable, to 4.2 - 5 completely desirable). Finally the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics indices and the assessment software of the Educational Development Center of TUMS. The instruments used in this method included assessment software, interview, observation and self-prepared questionnaire which consisted of 7 questionnaires and 2 check lists. Finding: The results of the research showed that general average of 8 investigating sections was 56.9% as a rather desirable research work. Conclusions: Therefore, it was concluded that function of the educational management in that group was directly in line with evaluation process, but continuing the process of evaluation seems necessary.

Evaluation of Uncertainty in Measuring the Content of CaM V35S Promoter in Genetically Modified Soybean,GTS40-3-2,by Real-time Quantitative PCR

[ Objective ] This study aimed to investigate the major contributors to the measurement uncertainty in quantitative analysis of genetically modified ingreclients and improve the quality of quantitative detection of genetically modified components. [ Method] The content of CaMV35S promoter （parameter） in GTS40- 3-2 soybean powder samples was measured to estimate the measurement uncertainty preliminarily. [ Result] Type A uncertainty （uA） ＇ type B uncertainty （uB） and combined standard uncertainty （Uc） were 0.0 004, 0.002 and 0.002, respectively. At a confidence level ofp = 95% and freedom degree of Voff = 3 251, coverage factor k = 1.96, expanded uncertainty U = 0.004. The final measurement result was C = 0.028 ± 0. 004, which was dose to the conventional true value （0.03）. Thus, the measurement uncertainty was relatively small, indicating a high quality of measurement. In this study, uncertainty evaluation indicated that the deviation of micro liquid transfer made the greatest contribution to the measurement uncertainty. [ Cludusion ] The deviation of micro liquid transfer should be reduced to im- prove the quality of measurement.

Net Present Value Method: A Method Recommended by ISO 15686-5 for Economic Evaluation of Building Life Cycle Costs

The publication of ISO 15686-5 is significant for studies related to the life-cycle costs of buildings. Among the many economic evaluation methods, the NPV method is recommended for use by this standard. This study explains the concept and method of PV, and then provides an explanation of the concept and method of NPV, and points out the limitations in the practical application of the method.

Modelling social determinants of self-evaluated health of poor older people in a middle-income developing nation

Over the last 2 decades (1988-2007), poverty in Jamaica has fallen by 67.5%, and this is within the context of a 194.7% increase in inflation for 2007 over 2006. It does not abate there, as Jamaicans are reporting more health conditions in a 4-week period (15.5% in 2007) and at the same time this corresponds to a decline in the percentage of people seeking medical care. Older people’s health status is of increasing concern, given the high rates of prostate cancer, genitourinary disorders, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and the presence of risk factors such as smoking. Yet, there is a dearth of studies on the health status of older people in the two poor quintiles. This study examined 1) the health status of those elderly Jamaicans who were in the two poor quintiles and 2) factors that are associated with their health status. A sample of 1,149 elderly respondents, with an average age of 72.6 years (SD = 8.7 years) were extracted from a total survey of 25,018 Jamaicans. The initial survey sample was selected from a stratified probability sampling frame of Jamaicans. An administered questionnaire was used to collect the data. Descriptive statistics were used to examine background information on the sample, and stepwise logistic regression was used to ascertain the factors which are associated with health status. The health status of older poor people was influenced by 6 factors, and those factors accounted for 26.6% of the variability in health status: Health insurance coverage (OR = 13.90;95% CI: 7.98-24.19), age of respondents (OR = 7.98;95% CI: 1.02-1.06), and secondary level education (OR=1.82;95% CI: 1.35-2.45). Males are less likely to report good health status than females (OR = 0.56;95% CI: 0.42-0.75). Older people in Jamaica do not purchase health insurance coverage as a preventative measure but as a curative measure. Health insurance coverage in this study does not indicate good health but is a proxy of poor health status. The demand of the health services in Jamaica in the future must be geared towards a particular age cohort and certain health conditions, and not only to the general population, as the social determinants which give rise to inequities are not the same, even among the same age cohort.

To Evaluate of the Self-dependent Innovation Ability of Equipment Manufacturing Enterprises in Shaanxi Province

For an enterprise, what is important is to have the self-dependent innovation ability so that it can en- hance the core competence unceasingly and acquire sustainable competitive advantages. In this paper, the indi- cator system of the self-dependent innovation ability of equipment manufacturing enterprises in Shaanxi province is constructed, in which includes 4 one-level indicators and 13 two-level indicators; and conducts empirical re- search by applying the multi-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.

Mini-CEX联合MDT在急诊科住院医师规范化培训中的应用效果

目的探讨迷你临床演练评估(mini-clinical evaluation exercise,Mini-CEX)联合多学科综合治疗协作组(multidisciplinary team,MDT)在急诊科住院医师规范化培训中的运用效果。方法选择于医院急诊科进行规范化培训的住院医师,2022年6—8月进行规范化培训者为传统培训组,2022年9—11月进行规范化培训者为Mini-CEX联合MDT组。传统培训组35名,给予常规教学方式教学,Mini-CEX联合MDT组35名,给予Mini-CEX联合MDT教学,教学完成后评估规范化培训住院医师的理论成绩及实际操作技能,教学前、后通过Mini-CEX考核规范化培训住院医师的问诊能力、临床诊断、操作能力、查体能力、治疗方案、沟通能力,给予评判性思维能力量表-中文版(critical thinking disposition inventory—Chinese version,CTDI-CV)、学生自主学习能力评价量表评价,比较2组教学满意度。结果Mini-CEX联合MDT组理论知识、实际操作技能评分较传统培训组高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.001);Mini-CEX联合MDT组问诊能力、临床诊断、操作能力、查体能力、治疗方案、沟通能力评分较传统培训组高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.001);Mini-CEX联合MDT组CTDI-CV评分较传统培训组低,自主学习能力评分、教学满意度较传统培训组高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.001)。Mini-CEX联合MDT组教学满意度(97.14%)较传统培训组高(85.71%),差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论在急诊科住院医师规范化培训中运用Mini-CEX联合MDT教学,可提升规范化培训住院医师理论及实践操作成绩,提升其综合临床能力、评判性思维能力、自学能力及教学满意度。

KANO-FBS模型下的煤矿用自救器用户需求研究

为有效评价矿工对自救器的满意度,设计符合矿工需求的自救器,提出一种以用户需求为导向的产品设计流程,改进煤矿用自救器的开发过程。首先对煤矿用自救器用户需求展开调研,通过KJ法构建用户需求体系,其次利用KANO模型量化用户需求并结合敏感度排序明确设计目标,构建KANO模型下的需求要素与FBS功能要素转化,经过FBS模型的映射转化,确定煤矿用自救器产品设计所需的结构,最后完成自救器在使用方式和信息识别上的设计优化。结果表明:煤矿用自救器用户需求指标体系中操作便捷、安全供氧及故障反馈是目前亟待改进的需求,需求敏感度分别达到1.071、0.906、0.866;设计后的煤矿用自救器经过平均操作用时测试对比,发现其使用效率高于现有产品,模糊综合评价法验证得出设计后的煤矿用自救器用户满意度较高。该研究有效解决了煤矿用自救器现有产品操作不便、日常维护困难等问题,验证了KANO-FBS模型的有效性和指导价值,为未来煤矿用自救器设计与优化提供参考。

基于AHP-灰色聚类模型的舰艇自身抗损能力评估方法

针对当前舰艇平台性能评价标准不一的问题,尤其是如何更好评价定性指标的问题,探究一种客观公正的评价方法。以舰艇自身抗损能力为研究对象,提出层次分析(AHP)-灰色聚类模型在自身抗损能力综合评估的应用,并在分析研究舰艇自身抗损能力影响因素的基础上建立评估指标体系。运用AHP确定各指标权重,针对舰艇自身抗损能力的各项评价指标,基于专家打分法的打分结果,应用灰类的白化权函数进行数据归一化处理,得到各项评价指标的分数值。根据指标评价体系以及各项指标的权重和分数值,对舰艇自身抗损能力进行综合评价。实例分析结果表明,该方法使用便捷,能够对舰艇自身抗损能力进行客观公正的评价,可为舰船自身抗损能力综合评估提供指导。

Safety evaluation for railway vehicles using an improved indirect measurement method of wheel–rail forces

The wheel-rail force measurement is of great importance to the condition monitoring and safety evaluation of railway vehicles. In this paper, an improved indirect method for wheel-rail force measurement is proposed to evaluate the running safety of railway vehicles. In this method, the equilibrium equations of a suspended wheelset are derived and the wheel-rail forces are then be obtained from measured suspension and inertia forces. This indirect method avoids structural modifications to the wheelset and is applicable to the long-term operation of railway vehicles. As the wheel-rail lateral forces at two sides of the wheelset are difficult to separate, a new derailment criterion by combined use of wheelset derailment coefficient and wheel unloading ratio is proposed. To illustrate its effectiveness, the indirect method is applied to safety evaluation of rail- way vehicles in different scenarios, such as the cross wind safety of a high-speed train and the safety of a metro vehicle with hunting motions. Then, the feasibility of using this method to identify wheel-rail forces for low-floor light rail vehicles with resilient wheels is discussed. The values identified by this method is compared with that by Simpack simulation for the same low-floor vehicle, which shows a good coincidence between them in the time domain of the wheelset lateral force and the wheel-rail vertical force. In addition, use of the method to determine the high-frequency wheel-rail interaction forces reveals that it is possible to identify the high-frequency wheel-rail forces through the accelerations on the axle box.

Parameter Self - Learning of Generalized Predictive Control Using BP Neural Network

This paper describes the self—adjustment of some tuning-knobs of the generalized predictive controller(GPC).A three feedforward neural network was utilized to on line learn two key tuning-knobs of GPC,and BP algorithm was used for the training of the linking-weights of the neural network.Hence it gets rid of the difficulty of choosing these tuning-knobs manually and provides easier condition for the wide applications of GPC on industrial plants.Simulation results illustrated the effectiveness of the method.

Seminar-CBL结合模拟教学法在肿瘤康复教学中的效果

目的探究Seminar-以案例为导向的教学法(case-based learning,CBL)结合模拟教学法在肿瘤康复教学中的效果。方法采取随机数字表法对2018年6月—2020年6月在滨州医学院附属医院肿瘤科学习的120名医学生,每组各60名,对照组给予常规教学法,观察组给予Seminar-CBL结合模拟教学法,对比2组学生实施不同教学方法后的操作成绩及理论成绩、学生自我评价结果、实施教学方法前后的批判性思维能力评分以及沟通能力评分。结果与对照组相比,观察组学生操作成绩及理论成绩均较高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。自主学习能力及自主思考能力显著提升、对肿瘤康复知识与技术有更深的掌握、合作性学习能力提升、利用学习资源的能力提升、批判性思维能力基本形成、制定科学合理康复方案的能力提升、发现及解决问题的能力提升、对临床病例及临床实习知识理解更加深入的学生所占比例较高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。2组教学后与教学前相比,批判性思维能力评分以及沟通能力评分均较高,与对照组教学后相比,观察组批判性思维能力评分以及沟通能力评分均较高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论Seminar-CBL结合模拟教学在肿瘤康复教学中可明显提高教学成绩,学生自我评价结果更好,同时也提高了其综合能力。
