Dual-function protective layer for highly reversible Zn anode

The thermodynamic instability of zinc anodes in aqueous electrolytes leads to issues such as corrosion,hydrogen evolution reactions(HER), and dendrite growth, severely hindering the practical application of zinc-based aqueous energy storage devices. To address these challenges, this work proposes a dualfunction zinc anode protective layer, composed of Zn-Al-In layered double oxides(ILDO) by rationally designing Zn-Al layered double hydroxides(Zn-Al LDHs) for the first time. Differing from previous works on the LDHs coatings, firstly, the ILDO layer accelerates zinc-ion desolvation and also captures and anchors SO_(4)^(2-). Secondly, the in-situ formation of the Zn-In alloy phase effectively lowers the nucleation energy barrier, thereby regulating zinc nucleation. Consequently, the zinc anode with the ILDO protective layer demonstrates long-term stability exceeding 1900 h and low voltage hysteresis of 7.5 m V at 0.5 m A cm^(-2) and 0.5 m A h cm^(-2). Additionally, it significantly enhances the rate capability and cycling performance of Zn@ILDO//MnO_(2) full batteries and Zn@ILDO//activated carbon zinc-ion hybrid capacitors.This simple and effective dual-function protective layer strategy offers a promising approach for achieving high-performance zinc-ion batteries. 展开更多

Background:Ischemia-reperfusion can worsen myocardial damage and increase the risk of death.Studies have revealed that ischemic preconditioning provides the best endogenous protection against myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury(MIRI),and the principle of electroacupuncture(EA)preconditioning is comparable to that of myocardial ischemic preconditioning adaption.Our earlier research demonstrated that EA pretreatment inhibits the expression of calmodulin-dependent protein kinase IIδ(CaMKIIδ),sodium/calcium exchanger 1(NCX1),and cyclophilin D,hence providing protection against MIRI.However,the exact mechanism is still unknown.The expression of NCX1 mRNA is directly regulated by microRNA-214(miR-214).Moreover,it suppresses the levels of CaMKIIδand cyclophilin D.Whether these variables contribute to EA preconditioning to improve MIRI needs to be investigated,though.This study aimed to preliminarily determine whether EA pretreatment ameliorates MIRI by modulating the miR-214-3p/NCX1 axis.Methods:We used a rat MIRI model to investigate the effect of EA pretreatment on MIRI and the expression of miR-214-3p.In addition,adenovirus injection inhibited miR-214-3p expression in the rat MIRI model,and the influence of EA pretreatment towards MIRI was observed in the context of blocked miR-214-3p expression.Both the myocardial histological abnormalities and the alterations in the ST segment of the rat electrocardiogram were analyzed.NCX1 mRNA,cyclophilin D,and CaMKIIδexpression levels were also analyzed.Results:EA pretreatment improved MIRI.In rats with MIRI,EA administration increased miR-214-3p expression while decreasing NCX1 mRNA,cyclophilin D,and CaMKIIδproteins in cardiac tissues.The beneficial effect of EA pretreatment against MIRI was reversed,coupled with elevated levels of NCX1 mRNA,cyclophilin D,and CaMKIIδprotein expression,when an adenovirus injection disrupted the expression of miR-214-3p.Conclusions:Our findings preliminarily show that EA pretreatment inhibits the expression of NCX1 mRNA,cyclophilin D,and CaMKIIδproteins via miR-214-3p,hence exerting MIRI protection. 展开更多

With the increase in the use of electronic devices in many different environments,a need has arisen for an easily implemented method for the rapid,sensitive detection of liquids in the vicinity of electronic components.In this work,a high-performance power generator that combines carbon nanoparticles and TiO2 nanowires has been fabricated by sequential electrophoretic deposition(EPD).The opencircuit voltage and short-circuit current of a single generator are found to exceed 0.7 V and 100μA when 6μL of water was applied.The generator is also found to have a stable and reproducible response to other liquids.An output voltage of 0.3 V was obtained after 244,876,931,and 184μs,on exposure of the generator to 6μL of water,ethanol,acetone,and methanol,respectively.The fast response time and high sensitivity to liquids show that the device has great potential for the detection of small quantities of liquid.In addition,the simple easily implemented sequential EPD method ensures the high mechanical strength of the device.This compact,reliable device provides a new method for the sensitive,rapid detection of extraneous liquids before they can impact the performance of electronic circuits,particularly those on printed circuit board. 展开更多

In this study, ori-entation of antibody was retained by protecting the antigen-binding site of the antibody prior to immo-bilization to -functionalized mixed self-assembled monolayer (SAM) of 12-mercaptododecanoic acid and 1-heptanethiol. More importantly, the number of immobilization bonds formed between each an-tigen-binding site protected antibody molecule and the solid surface was controlled by optimizing the mole fraction of the activated carboxyl group of the linker molecules in the mixed SAM. The amount of antibody used in this study was approximately equivalent to the amount for one monolayer surface coverage. Static secure techniques, such as firewall, hierarchy filtering, distributed disposing,layer management, autonomy agent, secure communication, were introduced in distributed intrusion detection. The self-protection agents were designed, which have the distributed architecture,cooperate with the agents in intrusion detection in a loose-coupled manner, protect the security of intrusion detection system, and respond to the intrusion actively. A prototype self-protection agent was implemented by using the packet filter in operation system kernel. The results show that all the hosts with the part of network-based intrusion detection system and the whole intrusion detection system are invisible from the outside and network scanning, and cannot apperceive the existence of network-based intrusion detection system. The communication between every part is secure. In the low layer, the packet streams are controlled to avoid the buffer leaks exist ing in some system service process and back-door programs, so as to prevent users from misusing and vicious attack like Trojan Horse effectively. 展开更多

To explore new light-weight integrated thermal protection system panel configuration and gain good insight into the responses mechanism,heat transfer and structural field analysis for one single-layer and four double-layer corrugated core panels were performed. The obtained the temperature,buckling,stress and deflection responses were compared,and the deflection and stress distributions as well as thermal buckling mode at the time were discussed for the considered configurations when the temperature difference between the top and bottom face sheet was maximum. The results demonstrated that the non-orthogonal and hat-stiffened double-layer structures provide superior performance to resist thermal buckling deformation in comparison with other configurations. The useful information is provided for the forthcoming optimization in which thermal buckling is considered as critical design driver. 展开更多

Three major types of protective coating of wood and wood-based materials have been considered. These three types include the coatings based on carboxyl-containing water-soluble polymers which are easily cross-linked by inorganic salts or OH-containing compounds, pH-sensitive coatings and polymer multi-layer structures. First of three mentioned approaches allows affecting permeability and enhancing the prevention the loss of water from the surface of wood to its surrounding. The advantage of the second approach is its ability to vary and purposely adjust the polymer composition and the number and distribution of -COOH groups in the chain which make the originally water-soluble polymers completely insoluble. The strong feature of the third approach which includes broad use of hydrogen-bonded films produced by layer-by-layer self-assembly is the possibility of manipulation of coatings stability after construction. 展开更多

涂层技术广泛应用于金属设备腐蚀防护,而针对传统涂层服役过程中的微损伤难以及时探测并修复,导致损伤后涂层防腐性能失效、金属腐蚀进程加速等问题。开发一种中空介孔SiO2微球包覆2-巯基苯并噻唑的自修复涂层,并对涂层的自修复性能进... 涂层技术广泛应用于金属设备腐蚀防护,而针对传统涂层服役过程中的微损伤难以及时探测并修复,导致损伤后涂层防腐性能失效、金属腐蚀进程加速等问题。开发一种中空介孔SiO2微球包覆2-巯基苯并噻唑的自修复涂层,并对涂层的自修复性能进行全面表征测试。将包覆2-巯基苯并噻唑的SiO2微球作为填料,添加到无溶剂环氧树脂涂层中制备自修复涂层,在质量分数为3.5%的NaCl溶液中探查受损涂层在铜基体表面的自修复过程。采用多种测试表征方法测试SiO2微球包覆2-巯基苯并噻唑的可行性,对涂层的自修复机理进行深入分析,综合评价自修复涂层的防腐性能。采用溶胶-凝胶法对SiO2微球进行制备,制备的SiO2微球具有中空结构,微球直径约为623nm。通过XDR、FTIR与TG等测试表征技术验证SiO2微球实现对2-巯基苯并噻唑的包覆,且负载量良好;通过EIS阻抗测试对自修复涂层的修复性能进行测试,经对照实验测试自修复涂层具有较为良好的防腐性能,并在6d时防腐性能达到最大;通过SEM、EDS以及SKP等测试技术,从微观角度验证包覆2-巯基苯并噻唑的SiO2微球对损伤涂层的修复性能以及对铜基体的防腐性能。当涂层被划伤后,2-巯基苯并噻唑缓慢释放并通过强化学吸附与铜基体结合,在裸露金属基体表面形成一层保护膜,阻滞外部环境的腐蚀性介质对铜腐蚀,实现了涂层对损伤处的主动修复,在浸泡6 d后防腐效果显著。制备的包覆2-巯基苯并噻唑SiO2微球对损伤涂层具有一定的修复能力,能够有效延长涂层的服役寿命。 展开更多

The oxidation beha... The oxidation behavior and damage mechanism of modifiers and compounds of many types of ceramic coatings were investigated experimentally. A MoSi 2/SiC coating was produced by infiltration process. The oxidation behavior of the coated C/C composites was studied at various temperatures below 1650℃. The oxidation results showed that the MoSi 2/SiC coating for thermal protection of C/C composites has high oxidation resistance at temperature up to 1650℃. In the present work, a new model of an oxidation protective, self sealing multi layer coating system was proposed for C/C composites. The multi layer coating possessing the self sealing property was obtained by pack cementation and infiltration process. The protection coating system for C/C composites consists of an inner layer of SiC and an outer layer of porous refractory oxides filled by modified SiO 2 glass. Isothermal and cyclic thermal oxidation tests showed the multi layer coating was capable of protecting the C/C composites in an oxidizing atmosphere at temperature up to 1800℃. 展开更多

BACKGROUND: Studies have demonstrated that β-amyloid peptide (Aβ), a characteristic pathological product of Alzheimer's disease (AD), results in neuronal endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS). However, the mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine against ERS in AD are poorly understood. OBJECTIVE: To measure expression levels of protective proteins (GRP78 and GRP94) of ER molecular partners and pro-apoptotic Caspase-12 ER membrane expression following application of traditional Chinese medicine natural cerebrolysin (NC) to treat Aβ1-40-induced ERS. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A parallel-controlled study was performed at the Institute of Integrated Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shenzhen Hospital of Southern Medical University between September 2006 and November 2008. MATERIALS: Sprague Dawley male rats, 6-8 weeks old, were used to harvest tibial and femoral bone marrow. Isolation and purification of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) were established from the whole bone marrow by removing non-adherent cells in primary and passage cultures. Aβ1-40 was provided by Sigma, USA. NC was provided by Shenzhen Institute of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, China. NC was predominantly composed of Renshen (Radix Ginseng), Tianma (Rhizoma Gastrodiae), and Yinxingye (Ginkgo Leaf) in a proportion of 1 : 2: 2. Following conventional water extraction technology, an extract (1 : 20) was prepared. Six adult, male, New Zealand rabbits underwent intragastric administration of NC extract (0.976 g/kg per day) for 1 month to prepare NC-positive serum, and the remaining 6 rabbits received intragastric administration of physiological saline to prepare normal blank serum. METHODS: A total of 500 nmol/L Aβ1-40 was used to establish ERS models of primary cultured MSCs. AD cell models were incubated with different doses of NC-positive serum (2.5%, 5%, and 10%). MSCs treated with normal blank serum served as normal blank controls. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and fluorescent immunocytochemistry were respectively used to measure mRNA and protein expression levels of GRP78, GRP94, and Caspase-12 in MSCs. RESULTS: Following Aβ1-40 exposure, mRNA and protein expression levels of GRP78 and GRP94, as well as Caspase-12, significantly increased (P 〈 0.05), suggesting successful establishment of ERS models. Following NC-positive serum application, mRNA and protein expression levels of GRP78 and GRP94 in MSCs significantly increased (P 〈 0.05 or P 〈 0.01). However, mRNA and protein expression levels of Caspase-12 significantly decreased (P 〈 0.05, or P 〈 0.01) compared with the ERS model group. These effects were dose-dependent. CONCLUSION: NC downregulated Caspase-12 expression and upregulated GRP78 and GRP94 expression in MSCs in a dose-dependent manner under the state of Aβ1-40-induced ERS. 展开更多

第三代铝锂合金被广泛应用于航天航空领域,以实现飞行器的轻量化制造。以AA2099-T83为研究对象,探索了在草酸锂(Li_(2)C_(2)O_(4))水溶液中原位制备锂盐转化膜的工艺,以改善合金的耐蚀性。利用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、X射线衍射(XRD)表征... 第三代铝锂合金被广泛应用于航天航空领域,以实现飞行器的轻量化制造。以AA2099-T83为研究对象,探索了在草酸锂(Li_(2)C_(2)O_(4))水溶液中原位制备锂盐转化膜的工艺,以改善合金的耐蚀性。利用扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、X射线衍射(XRD)表征转化膜的微观结构和组成成分,通过电化学阻抗谱(EIS)和扫描振动电极技术(SVET)等研究膜层的耐蚀性能。结果发现,溶液浓度和温度对转化膜的耐蚀性有显著影响,耐蚀性随温度升高而逐渐提高,随浓度升高而有所下降,在70℃、0.01 M的Li_(2)C_(2)O_(4)溶液中制备的转化膜耐蚀性最佳。在未负载任何缓蚀剂的条件下转化膜具有自修复特性,能显著降低合金局部腐蚀的敏感性,同时有效抑制局部腐蚀的稳态扩展,因此可以作为铝锂合金防腐涂层的打底层。 展开更多

Web applications represent one of the principal vehicles by which attackers gain access to an organization’s network or resources.Thus,different approaches to protect web applications have been proposed to date.Of them,the two major approaches are Web Application Firewalls(WAF)and Runtime Application Self Protection(RASP).It is,thus,essential to understand the differences and relative effectiveness of both these approaches for effective decisionmaking regarding the security of web applications.Here we present a comparative study between WAF and RASP simulated settings,with the aim to compare their effectiveness and efficiency against different categories of attacks.For this,we used computation of different metrics and sorted their results using F-Score index.We found that RASP tools scored better than WAF tools.In this study,we also developed a new experimental methodology for the objective evaluation ofweb protection tools since,to the best of our knowledge,nomethod specifically evaluates web protection tools. 展开更多
