The...Recent bathymetric changes in the Changjiang Estuary under the influence of artificial regulation engineerings and basin reservoirs have been analyzed based on the maritime charts since 1997 and recent fieldworks. The results indicate a slight erosion of the channels in the upper and middle estuary, continuing deposition and seaward move of the mouth bar crest and intensifying erosion at the nearshore seabed. It is noteworthy that the morphological evolution caused by intensive human activities dominates over the changes from nature process. First, the riverbes are eroded overall in the South Branch (SB), the South Channel (SC) and the upper and middle reaches of the North Channel (NC). The nearshore seabed outside the river mouth is being eroded slightly, which is attributed to the declining sediment supply from the Changjiang Basin due to the construction of the Three Gorges Dam upstream. The sediment above the seabed is very active and coarsened, meanwhile, sand waves are becoming more distinct. Second, a deposition occurs in the North Brach (NB), the mouth of the NC, the mouth bars of the North Passage (NP) and the South Passage (SP) and especially the main channel of the NP, where it shows a massive siltation after the deep waterway project. The reasons for the recent changes are not only the dynamic structure in estuarine mouth bars, but also the supply of sediment resuspension in a local and offshore area. Meanwhile, the severe erosion and siltation in some reaches is related to the construction of estuarine engineerings. It is indicated that the Changjiang Estuary is gradually self-adjusted and adapting to the varying natural factors and intensive human activities. The study on the mechanism of self-regulation of the recent bathymetric changes in the Changjiang Estuary has important and practical significance.展开更多

The effect of hypertension in the elderly is higher than other age groups and it may lead to changes in their quality of life. By the increase of age, the amount of self-care behaviors of patients with hypertension decreased. Therefore, control and self-care behaviors are so important. This study has been conducted to study self-regulation behaviors and Associated Factors in elderly patients with hypertension. This study was a cross sectional, descriptive analytic study, which was conducted using multistage sampling on the elderly 60 years and above with hypertension. The sample size was calculated 365 and the final sample size of 380 people was considered by possible losses. The instruments include of demographic and self-regulatory behaviors questionnaire. The results showed that self-regulation of behavior was 42.3% of the total score. In terms of quality, only 7.4% of the elderly had good behavior, 46.6% of poor performance, and the rest were mediocre performance. Age (p = 0.03), gender (p = 0.02), education (p = 0.001), income level (p = 0.03) and marital status (p = 0.001) significantly associated with behaviors of self-regulation. The results generally indicate unfavorable self-regulation of elderly patients with hypertension. Some variables such as gender, age, marital status, education and income levels were associated with these behaviors. So paying attention to the education of the elderly in care centers is essential.展开更多

The temporal and spatial dynamics of the new neural network formation were studied in real and simulated (false) biofeedback game, and their qualitative characteristics were discussed. It has been shown that immersion into a virtual competitive game, controlled by physiological responses, causes a wide involvement of the cortices, characterized by a high volume of activation in the mid-temporal, occipital and frontal areas, the cuneus and the precuneus. In both forms of media training, high values of activation volume were identified in the cerebellar structures.展开更多

But the plethora of recent corporate failures profession and has some ethical rules of thumb to and scandals where auditors' instrumental role is evident in many instances raise question about the validity and suitability of "self-regulation" in auditing, especially in the 21st century where auditors need to perform auditing in ever complex risk management process. Moreover, to restore the market confidences within the auditing profession and to raise the overall audit quality, many countries are establishing some super regulatory bodies to oversee the functions of auditing and auditors. Based on the "documentary research methodology", the author examines whether "self-regulation" in auditing has completely failed in the 21 st century. The author reveals that "self-regulation" in auditing has not completely failed; rather, a joint approach is needed to raise the overall quality of auditing where there will be equilibrium between "self-regulation" and statutory directive.展开更多

For two years, teachers were guided by a team of educational scientists to design challenging autonomous learning settings and to foster self-determined academic regulation. Before and after the intervention, about 100 pupils were questioned concerning their well-being in school, perceived autonomy support, their academic self-regulation, and school-related self-efficacy. Teachers' autonomy support decreased during the first year but remained stable from then on. Pupils' intrinsic regulation, as well as their introjected and external regulation and their self-efficacy, decreased throughout the intervention but identified regulation remained stable. The results indicate that perceived self-determination, self-determined academic regulation, and self-efficacy contribute to school-related well-being and offer interesting recommendations for improving the climate in schools for pupils and teachers.展开更多

College students, especially freshmen, are facing a large workload and a relatively flexible learning atmosphere compared with their experience in high school. Self-regulation seems to be an important component in acquiring academic achievement for college students. In other words, students who can control their learning processes effectively are characterized as self-regulated learners(Schunk & Zimmerman 1994). Many people believe that everyone could be self-regulated learner, but what differentiates them most is the quality of their self-regulation( as cited in Cohen 2012). Therefore, understanding the role of self-regulation and how to manage students' learning experiences in order to improve their self-regulation ability are significant.展开更多

文摘The emergence of Y6-type nonfullerene acceptors has greatly enhanced the power conversion efficiency(PCE)of organic solar cells(OSCs).However, which structural feature is responsible for the excellent photovoltaic performance is still under debate. In this study, two Y6-like acceptors BDOTP-1 and BDOTP-2 were designed.Different from previous Y6-type acceptors featuring an A–D–Aʹ–D–A structure,BDOTP-1,and BDOTP-2 have no electron-deficient Aʹfragment in the core unit.Instead, there is an electron-rich dibenzodioxine fragment in the core.Although this modification leads to a marked change in the molecular dipole moment, electrostatic potential, frontier orbitals, and energy levels,BDOTP acceptors retain similar three-dimensional packing capability as Y6-type acceptors due to the similar banana-shaped molecular configuration.BDOTP acceptors show good performance in OSCs.High PCEs of up to 18.51%(certified 17.9%)are achieved. This study suggests that the banana-shaped configuration instead of the A–D–Aʹ–D–A structure is likely to be the determining factor in realizing high photovoltaic performance.
文摘Life demands compete with academic study for all levels of education.Higher education now includes strong representation of multiple generations as well as strong representation of both campus-based and online students.Research indicates that students at various stages and in different formats of academic study present some different needs as well as different strategies for managing these needs concurrently with academic study.Research has supported the use of self-care behaviors in reduction of stress, with some studies indicating also an association of self-care and academic performance. In addition, research has also indicated role of student-driven factors such as self-regulation in academic performance.Much of self-care behaviors such as physical activity, consumption of fruits and vegetables, and sleep habits include self-regulation.This study examined association of self-care behaviors in physical activity, consumption of fruits and vegetables, and sleep from selected items of the Personal Wellness Questionnaire and Plan and self-regulation from selected scales of the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire(MSLQ)of Organization,Resource Management,Effort regulation, and Help-Seeking.Results will assist educators in promotion of student self-care and self-regulation behaviors that can facilitate successful academic endeavor.Answers will also provide guidance to educators and institutions on priority of effort in students support for self-care and self-regulation.
文摘Functional MRI was used to map the brains of subjects on-line during the process of media training for the acquisition and improvement of self-regulation mechanisms. In both forms of media training, high values of activation volume were identified in the cerebellar structures.
文摘From the very beginning, auditing is pretty much a self-regulated follow in practice. The author reveals that "self-regulation" in auditing has not completely failed; rather, a joint approach is needed to raise the overall quality of auditing where there will be equilibrium between "self-regulation" and statutory directive.
文摘The study documents an intervention programme based on the Self-determination Theory of Deci and Ryan (2000) with school beginners in an Austrian primary school with the aim to improve perceived self-determination and academic self-regulation of school beginners. The results indicate that perceived self-determination, self-determined academic regulation, and self-efficacy contribute to school-related well-being and offer interesting recommendations for improving the climate in schools for pupils and teachers.
文摘Zimmerman(2000) defines self-regulation as the beliefs and actions which are produced by students themselves in order to achieve their academic success and goals. Therefore, understanding the role of self-regulation and how to manage students' learning experiences in order to improve their self-regulation ability are significant.
文摘Self-regulation is crucial to learners’learning outcomes in a blended education context. This paper first discusses its definitions and importance, then explores factors affecting self-regulation,and finally puts forward several ways to improve learners’self-regulation.

文摘The effective plugging of artificial fractures is key to the success of temporary plugging and diverting fracturing technology, which is one of the most promising ways to improve the heat recovery efficiency of hot dry rock.At present, how temporary plugging agents plug artificial fractures under high temperature remains unclear. In this paper,by establishing an improved experimental system for the evaluation of temporary plugging performance at high temperature,we clarified the effects of high temperature, injection rate, and fracture width on the pressure response and plugging efficiency of the fracture. The results revealed that the temporary plugging process of artificial fractures in hot dry rock can be divided into four main stages:the initial stage of temporary plugging, the bridging stage of the particles, the plugging formation stage, and the high-pressure dense plugging stage. As the temperature increases, the distribution distance of the temporary plugging agent, the number of pressure fluctuations, and the time required for crack plugging increases.Particularly, when the temperature increases by 100℃,the complete plugging time increases by 90.7%.

文摘Antimony(Sb) is an attractive cathode for liquid metal batteries(LMBs) because of its high theoretical voltage and low cost. The main obstacles associated with the Sb-based cathodes are unsatisfactory energy density and poor rate-capability.Herein,we propose a novel Sb_(64)Cu_(36)cathode that effectively tackles these issues. The Sb_(64)Cu_(36)(melting point:525℃) cathode presents a novel lithiation mechanism involving sequentially the generation of Li_(2)CuSb,the formation of Li_(3)Sb,and the conversion reaction of Li_(2)CuSb to Li_(3)Sb and Cu.The generated intermetallic compounds show a unique microstructure of the upper floated Li_(2)CuSb layer and the below cross-linked structure with interpenetrated Li_(2)CuSb and Li_(3)Sb phases.Compared with Li_(3)Sb,the lower Li migration energy barrier(0.188 eV) of Li_(2)CuSb significantly facilitates the lithium diffusion across the intermediate compounds and accelerates the reaction kinetics.Consequently, the Li‖Sb_(64)Cu_(36)cell delivers a more excellent electrochemical performance(energy density:353 W h kg^(-1)at 0.4 A cm^(-2);rate capability:0.59 V at 2.0 A cm^(-2)),and a much lower energy storage cost of only 38.45 $ kW h^(-1)than other previously reported Sb-based LMBs.This work provides a novel cathode design concept for the development of high-performance LMBs in applications for large-scale energy storage.
