Comparison of coal separation characteristics based on different separating approaches in dry coal beneficiation flowsheet

The separation characteristic of raw coal from Luoyang mining area, China, was investigated by applying a dry coal beneficiation flowsheet with the dense medium gas-solid fluidized bed as main separating equipment. The experimental and simulation results indicate that the dense medium gas-solid fluidized bed can provide uniform distribution and stable fluctuation of bed densities at various heights. Two types of different separating approaches were compared using the dry coal beneficiation flowsheet. Compared with obtaining cleaning coal in the first stage of the flowsheet, a higher yield of the cleaning coal and better separation efficiency can be achieved when discharging gangue in the first stage. Finally, the results indicate that 64.86% pure cleaning coal with an ash content of 11.77% and 13.53% middlings were obtained, and 21.61% gangue was removed in two successive separation stages with the probable errors of 0.05 and 0.07 g/cm3, respectively.

SEPARATING BROWN AND BLACK BEARS IN NORTHEAST CHINA USING TOOTH MEASUREMENTS

An expeditious method for ascertaining species between black bear (Selenarctos thibetanus G. cuiver) and brown bear (Ursus arctos Linnaeus) was developed using tooth measurements from previously identified specimens. The measurement and analysis on 18 tooth measurement indexes (i.e. T1. Length of Pm1-Pm4, T2. L. of M1-M3, T3. M1L., T4. M1 width, T5. M2L., T6. M2W., T7.M3L., T8. M3W., T9. L. of C1 alveolus, T10. W. of C1 alveolus, T11. L. of C1-M2, T12. L. of Pm4 M2,T13.M1L., T14. M1W., T15. M2L., T16. M2W., T17.L. of C1 alveolus, T18. W. of C1 alveolus) of 59 skulls (black bears 25, brown bears 34) indicates that there are significant or the most significant difference between two species in every indexes, however T1, T9, T10, T17 and T18 are not suitable for species discriminator because of their high percent of overlap. The efficient species discriminators and standards (mm) are as follows T2(63.0), T3(22.0), T4(10.2), T5(23.8), T6(13.6), T7(18.0), T8(13.5), T11(110.0),T12(66.0), T13(20. 1), T14(15.8), T15(33.0) and T16(17.3). Those who are less than or equal to standard are classified to black bear, the others are brown bear. The method is very convenient and useful with high reliability. Their lowest accuracy percent are 95.0%, most of them over 97%. Different indexes will be chosen refer to the degree of specimen destroyed.

Study on influencing factors of adapters separating with the underwater missile

To analyze main factors affecting the separation reliability between a missile and adapters for the launching process, a six DOF underwater dynamic model for the missile and adapters is utilized to simulate the separation process, considering elastic forces of separating springs, hydrodynamic forces, gravity and buoyancy. Moreover, a criterion based on the maximum separating distance is put forward to determine whether adapters separate with the missile reliably. The results show that the magnitude and position of elastic force, the wedge angle and mass of the adapter significantly affect the separating process. The local sensitivity analysis for the reference status of design parameters demonstrates that the wedge angle of adapters has the maximum influence about 70. 4% on the separating distance.

Some discussions about method for solving the variable separating nonlinear models

Through analysing the exact solution of some nonlinear models, the role of the variable separating method in solving nonlinear equations is discussed. We find that rich solution structures of some special fields of these equations come from the nonzero seed solution. However, these nonzero seed solutions is likely to result in the divergent phenomena for the other field component of the same equation. The convergence and the signification of all field components should be discussed when someone solves the nonlinear equation using the variable separating method.

Research on Separating Overlapped Explosion Recordings

By using wavelet analysis and the co-deduct method, under the condition that two explosions are supposed to have the same mechanism and strength, we separated the overlapped recordings successfully.

Equivalent Separating Curves on Closed Surface of Genus 2

Let {A, B} be a complete system of the closed orientable surface F of genus 2. A simple closed curve C on F is separating with respect to （A, B） if it is disjoint from A U B and it cuts F into two once-punctured tori X, Y with A belong X, B belong Y. Let γ be a simple closed curve on F which is disjoint from A ∪ B and intersects C essentially in two points. In this paper, we show that up to isotopy, {hγ^n（C） ： n ∈ Z} is the set containing all the simple closed curves on F which is separating with respect to （A, B）, where hγ is the Dehn twist along γ on F. This also shows how two simple closed curves on F which are separating with respect to （A, B） are related. The result can be applied to yield all Haken spheres of a Heegaard splitting V∪F W which are weakly equivalent to a given Heken sphere of the splitting.

Flotation Separating Rutile from Calcium and Silicon Gangue Minerals

Rutile separation from calcite, apatite and quartz by flotation was investigated. The results show that the rutile separation from calcium and silicon gangue minerals can be realized with alkyl-imino-bismethylene phosphoric acid (TF112) as a collector and sodium hexametaphosphate (SH) as a regulator.

Feasibility Study of Flotation Process in Separating Chicken from Chicken Skeleton

An innovative and effective method of separating chicken meat and bone from chicken skeleton was developed in this study. Different heating approaches to chicken skeleton were compared to optimize cooking conditions including cooking temperature and cooking time. The separation efficiency of chicken meat and bone in different conditions, including flow direction, impeller speed and the liquid level rising velocity were also studied. Experimental results demonstrated high temperature cooking and assisted mechanical stirring could improve separating rate of chicken skeleton. Liquid flow entering at tangent entrance direction of the kettle could maintain the stability of the liquid level and smoothness of the separation process. The outflow rate of chicken meat increased as the liquid level rising velocity raised, and approached to the maximum value at 0.80 cm/s. The practical application test showed that the best conditions for separation of chicken skeleton were: 45 min cooking time at 114°C;tangent flow direction;stir speed of 200 r/min;the liquid level rising velocity of water is 0.8 cm/s. Using this approach, the value of chicken bone was increased, product specialization was enhanced, and the results could be used in future high value chicken product development.

Synthesis and Efficiency of a SphericalMacroporous Epoxy-dicyandiamide ChelateResin for Preconcentrating and SeparatingTrace Au, Hg, Pd and Ru from Samples

A novel spherical macroporous epoxy-dicyandiamide chelate resin was synthesized simply and rapidly from epoxy resin and used for the preconcentration and separation of trace amounts of Au (Ⅲ ), Hg (Ⅱ ), Pd (Ⅳ) and Ru (Ⅲ) ions from solution samples. The analyzed ions can be quantitatively concentrated by the resin at a flow rate of 2. 0 mL/min at pH 4, and can also be desorbed with 15 mL of 4 mol/L HCl + 0. 3 g thiourea from the resin column with recoveries of 96. 5%-99. 0%. After the chelate resin was reused for 7 times, the recoveries of these ions were still over 92%, and 400-1 000 times of excess of Fe(Ⅲ ), Al(Ⅲ ), Ni( II), Mn( Ⅱ ), Cr (Ⅲ ), Cu ( Ⅱ ), Cd (Ⅱ ) and Pb (Ⅱ ) caused little interference with the determination of these ions by an inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES ). The capacities of the resin for the analytes are in the range of 0. 35~0. 92 mmol/g. The RSDs of the proposed method are in the range of 1. 1 % ~4. 0% for each kind of the analyzed ions. The recoveries of a standard added in real solution samples are between 96. 5% and 98. 5%, and the results for the analyzed ions in a powder sample are in good agreement with their reported values.

Study on the System for Separating Sulfurfrom Flue Gas and Dust

This paper describes the structure of the system for separating sulfur from flue gas and dust. In the paper, the velocities of turbulent flow and laminar flow inside the tower, the total of liquid membrance, and the additional flow of rotation fogged fluid are calculated, and the separation of rotation air-solid affected by tower is analyzed. The velocity distribution in quasi free vortex area is obtained from experiment. The minimum separated particle diameter is computed. The paper also studies the chemical reactions of flue gas containing sulfide with the dynamic fogged sulfur separating agent and discusses the main factors related to the effect of separating sulfur and dust. At last, the applications of separating sulfur in industrial stove and collecting dust in environmental engineering are introduced.

Empirical Study on Factors Influencing Residents’ Behavior of Separating Household Wastes at Source

Source separation is the basic premise for making effective use of household wastes. In eight cities of China, how- ever, several pilot projects of source separation finally failed because of the poor participation rate of residents. In order to solve this problem, identifying those factors that influence residents’ behavior of source separation becomes crucial. By means of questionnaire survey, we conducted descriptive analysis and ex- ploratory factor analysis. The results show that trouble-feeling, moral notion, environment protection, public education, environment value and knowledge deficiency are the main factors that play an important role for residents in deciding to separate their household wastes. Also, according to the contribution percentage of the six main factors to the total behavior of source separation, their influencing power is analyzed, which will provide suggestions on household waste management for policy makers and decision makers in China.

PREPARATION AND SEPARATING PROPERTIES OF MoS_2/γ-Al_2O_3 CERAMIC COMPOSITE MEMBRANE FOR H_2S-H_2 MIXTURE

MoS2/γ－Al2O3 ceramic composite membrane is successfully synthesized by the sol-gel method based on the inorganic salt route. The aluminum hydrate sol derived from the inorganic salt Al(NO3)3, whose transparence and viscosity are 97% and 1.2 × 10-3 Pa. s, respectively, can be formed through adjusting the ratio of the peptizing agent H+ to Al3+ to 0.3. The aluminum hydrate gel at 110℃ is amorphous in structure and is heat-treated in air at 800℃ to form γ－Al2O3. The precursor derived from the mixture solution of ammonium molybdate, thioacetamide and a reducing agent, can be transformed into crystal MoS2 under reducing condition at 800℃. MoS2/γ－Al2O3 composite membrane is an organic whole and bps no gradation from MoS2 layer to γ－Al2O3 Iayer. The separation factor a H2/H2S through the MoS2/γ－Al2O3 composite membrane increase with rising temperature and a H2/H2S at 600℃ is 4.45 higher than the theoretical separation factor produced by the ideal Knudsen diffusion.

A Separating Algorithm for Overlapping Cell Images

The cell overlapping and adhesion phenomenon often exists in cell image processing. Separating overlapped cell into single ones is of great important and difficult in cell image quantitative analysis and automatic recognition. In this paper, an algorithm based on concave region extraction and erosion limit has been proposed to judge and separate overlapping cell images. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has a good separation effects on analog cell images. Then the method is applying in actual cervical cell image and obtains good separation result.

A new approach for separating mixed model parameters:application to simultaneous inversion of earthquake source parameters

A method for simultaneous determination of mixed model parameters,which have different physical dimensions or different responses to data,is presented.Mixed parameter estimation from observed data within a single model space shows instabilities and trade-offs of the solutions. We separate the model space into N-subspaces based on their physical properties or computational convenience and solve the N-subspaces systems by damped least-squares and singular-value decomposition. Since the condition number of each subsystem is smaller than that of the single global system,the approach can greatly increase the stability of the inversion. We also introduce different damping factors into the subsystems to reduce the tradeoffs between the different parameters. The damping factors depend on the conditioning of the subsystems and may be adequately chosen in a range from 0.1 % to 10 % of the largest singular value. We illustrate the method with an example of simultaneous determination of source history,source geometry,and hypocentral location from regional seismograms,although it is applicable to any geophysical inversion.
