Shared and Service-oriented CNC Machining System for Intelligent Manufacturing Process

To improve efficiency, reduce cost, ensure quality effectively, researchers on CNC machining have focused on virtual machine tool, cloud manufacturing, wireless manufacturing. However, low level of information shared among different systems is a common disadvantage. In this paper, a machining database with data evaluation module is set up to ensure integrity and update. An online monitoring system based on internet of things and multi-sensors ＂feel＂ a variety of signal features to ＂percept＂ the state in CNC machining process. A high efficiency and green machining parameters optimization system ＂execute＂ service-oriented manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing and green manufacturing. The intelligent CNC machining system is applied in production. CNC machining database effectively shares and manages process data among different systems. The prediction accuracy of online monitoring system is up to 98.8% by acquiring acceleration and noise in real time. High efficiency and green machining parameters optimization system optimizes the original processing parameters, and the calculation indicates that optimized processing parameters not only improve production efficiency, but also reduce carbon emissions. The application proves that the shared and service-oriented CNC machining system is reliable and effective. This research presents a shared and service-oriented CNC machining system for intelligent manufacturing process.

Data Processing Middleware in a High-Powered Neutral Beam Injection Control System

A set of data-processing middleware for a high-powered neutral beam injection（NBI） control system is presented in this paper.The middleware,based on TCP/IP and multi-threading technologies,focuses mainly on data processing and transmission.It separates the data processing and compression from data acquisition and storage.It provides universal transmitting interfaces for different software circumstances,such as WinCC,LabView and other measurement systems. The experimental data acquired on Windows,QNX and Linux platforms are processed by the middleware and sent to the monitoring applications.There are three middleware deployment models：serial processing,parallel processing and alternate serial processing.By using these models,the middleware solves real-time data-processing problems on heterogeneous environmental acquisition hardware with different operating systems and data applications.

Service-oriented weapon systems of system portfolio selection method

Weapon system portfolio selection is an important combinatorial problem that arises in various applications,such as weapons development planning and equipment procurement,which are of concern to military decision makers.However,the existing weapon system-of-systems(SoS)is tightly coupled.Because of the diversity and connectivity of mission requirements,it is difficult to describe the direct mapping relationship from the mission to the weapon system.In the latest service-oriented research,the introduction of service modules to build a service-oriented,flexible,and combinable structure is an important trend.This paper proposes a service-oriented weapon system portfolio selection method,by introducing service to serve as an intermediary to connect missions and system selection,and transferring the weapon system selection into the service portfolio selection.Specifically,the relation between the service and the task is described through the service-task mapping matrix;and the relation between the service and the weapon system is constructed through the servicesystem mapping matrix.The service collaboration network to calculate the flexibility and connectivity of each service portfolio is then established.Through multi-objective programming,the optimal service portfolios are generated,which are further decoded into weapon system portfolios.

Interactive Middleware Services for Heterogeneous Systems

Computing has become more invisible, widespread and ubiquitoussince the inception of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Web of Things. Multipledevices that surround us meet user’s requirements everywhere. Multiple Middleware Framework (MF) designs have come into existence because of the rapiddevelopment of interactive services in Heterogeneous Systems. This resulted inthe delivery of interactive services throughout Heterogeneous Environments(HE). Users are given free navigation between devices in a widespread environment and continuously interact with each other from any chosen device. Numerous interactive devices with recent interactive platforms (for example, SmartPhones, Mobile Phones, Personal Computer (PC) and Personal Digital Assistant(PDA)) are available in the market. For easy access to information and servicesirrespective of the device used for working and even at the drastic change ofthe environment, the execution of applications on a broad spectrum of computingdevices is propelled by the availability of the above-mentioned platforms. Different applications that need interoperability to coordinate and correspond with eachother should be facilitated. Using a standard interface and data format, HE mustlink various devices from various platforms together to communicate with eachother. To aid the interactive services performed by a middleware framework thatoperates on Application Programming Interface (API) over HEs, this issue aims toendorse an Adaptable Service Application Programming Interface (ASAPI).

A Service-Oriented Architecture of Cyber-Physical System and Study on Two Key Issues

As the basis of designing and implementing a cyber-physical system (CPS), architecture research is very important but still at preliminary stage. Since CPS includes physical components, time and space constraints seriously challenge architecture study. In this paper, a service-oriented architecture of CPS was presented. Further, a two-way time synchronization algorithm for CPS service composition was put forward. And a formal method, for judging if actual CPS service meets space constraints, was suggested, which was based on space-π-calculus proposed. Finally, a case study was performed and CPS business process designed by the model and the proposed methods could run well. The application of research conclusion implies that it has rationality and feasibility.

Middleware technologies for cloud of things： a survey

The next wave of communication and applications will rely on new services provided by the Internet of Things which is becoming an important aspect in human and machines future. IoT services are a key solution for providing smart environments in homes, buildings, and cities. In the era of massive number of connected things and objects with high growth rate, several challenges have been raised, such as management, aggregation, and storage for big produced data. To address some of these issues, cloud computing emerged to the IoT as Cloud of Things （COT）, which provides virtually unlimited cloud services to enhance the large-scale IoT platforms. There are several factors to be considered in the design and implementation of a CoT platform. One of the most important and challenging problems is the heterogeneity of different objects. This problem can be addressed by deploying a suitable ＂middleware＂ which sits between things and applications as a reliable platform for communication among things with different interfaces, operating systems, and architectures. The main aim of this paper is to study the middleware technologies for CoT. Toward this end, we first present the main features and characteristics of middlewares. Next, we study different architecture styles and service domains. Then, we present several middlewares that are suitable for CoT-based platforms and finally, a list of current challenges and issues in the design of CoT-based middlewares is discussed.

Privacy Protection Framework with Defined Policies for Service-Oriented Architecture

Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a computer systems design concept which aims to achieve reusability and integration in a distributed environment through the use of autonomous, loosely coupled, interoperable abstractions known as services. In order to interoperate, communication between services is very important due to their autonomous nature. This communication provides services with their functional strengths, but also creates the opportunity for the loss of privacy. In this paper, a Privacy Protection Framework for Service-Oriented Architecture (PPFSOA) is described. In this framework, a Privacy Service (PS) is used in combination with privacy policies to create privacy contracts that outline what can and cannot be done with a consumer’s personally identifiable information (PII). The privacy policy consists of one-to-many privacy rules, with each rule created from a set of six privacy elements: collector, what, purpose, retention, recipient and trust. The PS acts as an intermediary between the service consumer and service provider, to establish an unbiased contract before the two parties begin sending PII. It is shown how many Privacy Services work together to form the privacy protection framework. An examination of what current approaches to protecting privacy in an SOA environment is also presented. Finally, the operations the PS must perform in order to fulfill its tasks are outlined.

High Efficiency and Light Mobile Electronic Business System Based on Mobile Agent Middleware

Mobile Network technology has been being the research focus during the 1990’s. The middleware technology is imported for the sake of running distributed transaction smoothly. In this paper, a mobile agent based middleware high efficiency mobile electronic business oriented middleware (HEMEBOM) is designed and implemented based on the requirement and background of collaborative electronic business. Its architecture, elements and excellent properties are mainly focused. Then high efficiency mobile electronic business system μMcommerce is built using HEMEBOM.

A Framework of Web Data Integrated LBS Middleware

In this paper, we propose a flexible locationbased service （LBS） middleware framework to make the development and deployment of new location based applications much easier. Considering the World Wide Web as a huge data source of location relative information, we integrate the common used web data extraction techniques into the middleware framework, exposing a unified web data interface for the upper applications to make them more attractive. Besides, the framework also emphasizes some common LBS issues, including positioning, location modeling, location-dependent query processing, privacy and secure management.

Mobile Web Middleware of NFC Context-Awareness Applications

With the development of wireless networks and mobile computing, more advanced applications with context-awareness and adaptability to their changing context are needed. However, building context-aware applications is difficult due to the lack of adequate infrastructure support. In this paper, a web middleware architecture for the development of context-awareness applications using near field communication （NFC） is proposed. Based on it, the efficient support for acquiring, interpreting, and accessing context is provided, and the user＇s quality of experience is improved. Moreover, a mobile web middleware for the testing and full realization of NFC context-awareness applications has been developed together with two application examples.

A Communication Middleware with Unified Data Transmission Interface

In a Modern communication network, data exchange become a complex problem because there usually exists a various data formats due to the diversity and complexity of communication devices. In this paper, a communication middleware with unified data transmission interface is introduced, which acts as the abstract communication layer in the heterogeneous distributed private communication network. Devices within the network only need to interact with the middleware, instead of directly communicate with each other by various protocols and interfaces, which can reduce the complexity and diversity of the heterogeneous network. This article describes the structure and features of the middleware, and analyses the use of “buffer pool” in message sending and receiving process. The applications of this middleware can reduce the complexity of heterogeneous network interoperation, and improve communication efficiency.

An agent-based service-oriented integration architecture for chemical process automation

In reality, traditional process control system built upon centralized and hierarchical structures presents a weak response to change and is easy to shut down by single failure. Aiming at these problems, a new agent-based service-oriented integration architecture was proposed for chemical process automation system. Web services were dynamically orchestrated on the internet and agent behaviors were built in them. Data analysis, model, optimization, control, fault diagnosis and so on were capsuled into different web services. Agents were used for service compositions by negotiation. A prototype system of poly(ethylene terephthalate) process automation was used as the case study to demonstrate the validation of the integration.

Embedding Authentication &Authorization in Discovery Protocols for Standard Based Publish/Subscribe Middleware: A Performance Evaluation

Standard based Pub/Sub middleware, such as OMG Data Distribution Service (DDS), could assume a key role in supporting computer communications requiring continuous state information updating, deterministic deadline to data delivering and real time information adjourning. This kind of capability could be well ex-ploited by Peer-To-Peer (P2P) systems, Internet-wide as long as private ones, like in Public Safety or Civil Protection Communication Systems;but Pub/Sub specifications, and DDS/RTPS (Real Time Publish Sub-scribe) as well, usually do not provide Authentication & Authorization (AA) mechanisms. In the present work two important novelties are assessed: a possible scheme to implement AA in DDS/RTPS networks and a time performance evaluation study about embedded Authentication in RTPS.

Describing Service-Oriented Architecture by Extended Darwin

Describing Service-Oriented Architecture （SOA） is critical in the development of Web based system, in this paper, an approach for describing SOA by extended Darwin is proposed. The requirements for describing SOA, which are different from that of ordinary architecture, are highlighted firstly, and then a solution for extending Darwin is presented. Using the extended Darwin, service components and connectors can be described explicit by the extended construct, as well as precise operational semantics of SOA by the π-calculus. Finally an example of supply-chain management system is given for manifesting the effect of the extended Darwin.

Distributed heterogeneous inspecting system and its middleware-based solution

There are many cases when an organization needs to monitor the data and operations of its super-vised departments, especially those departments which are not owned by this organization and are managed by their own information systems. Distributed Heterogeneous Inspecting System (DHIS) is the system an organization uses to monitor its supervised departments by inspecting their information systems. In DHIS, the inspected systems are generally distributed, heterogeneous, and constructed by different companies. DHIS has three key processes-abstracting core data sets and core operation sets, collecting these sets, and inspecting these collected sets. In this paper, we present the concept and mathematical definition of DHIS, a metadata method for solving the interoperability, a security strategy for data transferring, and a middleware-based solution of DHIS. We also describe an example of the inspecting system at WENZHOU custom.

A Collaborative Framework for Mould Design Based on Service-Oriented Architecture

Aiming at improving the traditional object-oriented three-layer architecture for collaborative design, a service-oriented framework for mould design is established by adding a Web service layer to decoupling the direct linking of user interface to functional modules,making the system being platform independent and programming language independent,greatly facilitating the reuse of existing software and hardware resources. .NET technology is adopted to implement the framework. An example scenario is introduced to demonstrate how the system works.

Usng Middleware to Migrate Legacy System:A Case Study

There has been an increasing need to migrate legacy systems to new hardware technologies and software development paradigms because the legacy systems present problems such as low effectiveness and high maintenance. If organizations want to remain competitive in today’s fast changing business and technological environment, they must overcome these problems. Middleware is a valuable technology in that it provides convenient methods to construct system infrastructure, so it can be used to migrate the legacy systems. This paper gives a case study on using middleware technologies for the implementation of reengineering distributed and heterogeneous bank legacy system in Anhui branch of China Construction Bank. Using middleware to migrate legacy system has proved to be good choice in practice.
