Introduction of control variables into the traffic-actuated system contributes to system operational flexibility and complexit...Traffic-actuated signal employs relatively complex control logic to regulate traffic flow. Introduction of control variables into the traffic-actuated system contributes to system operational flexibility and complexity, and also complicates the system with uncertainties. The paper proposes two tentative methods to optimize the actuated signal parameters: basic requirements of controller parameters and analytical model, and macroscopic computer simulation. It is concluded that when the actuated signal operates within the volume/capacity range of 0.4 to 0.6, it will create the most significant benefits; the research suggests that minimum green time in the main street shall be set long enough to meet the required demand, preferably at the 60% of the main street capacity. In order to ensure less control delay in a semi-actuated intersection, relatively small values of vehicle extension (e.g., 2.5 s) and maximum green time are recommended to be assigned to the less important street.展开更多

By introducing the concepts of synchronization rate and non-synchronization degree, a mathematical model is constructed and an optimization problem is posed. Then, a new iterative algorithm is developed to solve this optimal traffic control signal setting problem. Convergence properties for this iterative algorithm are established. Finally, a numerical example is solved to illustrate the effectiveness of the method.展开更多
A novel approach to extract flame fronts, which is called the conditioned level-set method with block division (CLSB), has been developed. Based on a two-phase level-set formulation, the conditioned initialization a...A novel approach to extract flame fronts, which is called the conditioned level-set method with block division (CLSB), has been developed. Based on a two-phase level-set formulation, the conditioned initialization and region-lock optimiza-tion appear to be beneficial to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the flame contour identification. The original block- division strategy enables the approach to be unsupervised by calculating local self-adaptive threshold values autonomously before binarization. The CLSB approach has been applied to deal with a large set of experimental data involving swirl- stabilized premixed combustion in diluted regimes operating at atmospheric pressures. The OH-PLIF measurements have been carried out in this framework. The resulting images are, thus, featured by lower signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) than the ideal image; relatively complex flame structures lead to significant non-uniformity in the OH signal intensity; and, the mag- nitude of the maximum OH gradient observed along the flame front can also vary depending on flow or local stoichiometry. Compared with other conventional edge detection operators, the CLSB method demonstrates a good ability to deal with the OH-PLIF images at low SNR and with the presence of a multiple scales of both OH intensity and OH gradient. The robustness to noise sensitivity and intensity inhomogeneity has been evaluated throughout a range of experimental images of diluted flames, as well as against a circle test as Ground Truth (GT).展开更多

A self-adaptive impedance matching method of signal and energy transmission, which can set the message rapidly and effectively, is put forward. The electromagnetic induct setting system will reach the highest energy transmission efficiency when the equivalent resistance of the second loop is equal to the resistance of the first loop. The greater the ratio of the equivalent resistances is, the higher efficient the signal transmission has. Moreover, the validity of the method is verified by circuit design and tests.展开更多

First, wavelet packet transform (WPT) is introduced to extract features from radar emitter signals. Then, rough set theory is used to select the optimal feature subset with good discriminability from original feature set, and support vector machines (SVMs) are employed to design classifiers. A large number of experimental results show that the proposed method achieves very high recognition rates for 9 radar emitter signals in a wide range of signal-to-noise rates, and proves a feasible and valid method.展开更多
铁道客车轮对上的不平衡质量影响列车运行安全及速度的进一步提升,轮对安装前需要精确检测不平衡质量并进行动平衡处理。本文提出自适应小波消噪、MUSIC(Multiple Signal Classification)谱估计、相关分析法相结合的方法,实现铁道客车...铁道客车轮对上的不平衡质量影响列车运行安全及速度的进一步提升,轮对安装前需要精确检测不平衡质量并进行动平衡处理。本文提出自适应小波消噪、MUSIC(Multiple Signal Classification)谱估计、相关分析法相结合的方法,实现铁道客车轮对动平衡振动信号特征的提取。通过Labview软件与MATLAB混合编程实现软件开发,并搭建铁道客车轮对动平衡测试平台进行实验验证,实验验证结果表明,经过降噪和采样分辨率的控制,可以克服现场噪声及频率干扰问题,提取的信号幅值及相位具有较高的精度,可实现轮对上不平衡质量及位置的准确探测。展开更多
