The evolution of the Internet has enabled us to enjoy the music created in various countries.But still,it is often difficult to understand the lyrics written in foreign languages.Professional translators have publishe...The evolution of the Internet has enabled us to enjoy the music created in various countries.But still,it is often difficult to understand the lyrics written in foreign languages.Professional translators have published many international songs with lyrics that fit the melody so that the ordinary people can enjoy the lyrics of such international songs.This paper discusses lyrics transcreation into the Japanese language.Also,the paper presents an interactive visual lyrics transcreation system and describes the details of its implementation.This system allows users to select temporary lyrics from a set of tentative translations and then freely modify the lyrics with a real-time visualization mechanism.We also propose a lyrics translation algorithm that solves an essential problem of lyrics translation into Japanese.In this study,we interviewed two experts regarding problems with lyrics translation and received reviews of our presented system.We also conducted preliminary experiments with 19 participants to determine the best combination of user interface components for our system.We performed additional user experiments inviting 12 participants to compare lyrics transcreation using the presented system to manual lyrics transcreation.Lyrics transcreation by the presented system brought better results against those of manual transcreation.展开更多

The song lyrics of the first three albums deal, among other things, with the usual topics the youth of the time were concerned with （love, rebellion and resistance against the establishment）, although they were viewed from a different angle： instead of love the lyrics talk about prostitution （Charlotte the Harlot）, sexual harassment （Prowler）, and juvenile criminality （Running Free）. This paper aims, on the one hand to show an overview of the topics of the song lyrics from the earlier Iron Maiden albums, and on the other hand to examine the concrete consequences the lyrics had on the music of the band （text interpretation）. During the 1980s, Iron Maiden began to diverge both musically （in the direction of experimental heavy metal） and thematically （among others, science fiction and war） from the NWoBHM. According to Talmy's classification of lan-guage events, Cummings' s love lyrics are divided into space events and time events. Then figure and ground in different poems are de-termined on the basis of features and principles of figure and ground in two kinds of events. The analysis makes it possible for readers tobuild an interest in Cummings' s love lyrics and identify the hidden emotions and contents. What's more, connotation as well as aesthet-ic values of poems can also be explored. Theory in the cognitive stylistics is applied to the appreciation of poems in this paper, whichmay help readers imagine the scene and better understand the connotation.
