Based on geometric and mechanical parameters, along with the strain failure criteria obtained by sample's deformation characteristics, uniaxial compression tests on the sample were simulated through a finite-element model, which yielded values consistent with the data from the laboratory uniaxial compression tests, implying that the method is reasonable. Based on this model, a shear test was performed to calculate the peak shear strength of the mudded intercalation, consistent with values reported in the literature, thereby providing a new approach for investigating the mechanical properties of mudded intercalation materials.展开更多

S. joint research group, were used to determine the phase velocity and attenuation coefficient of surface waves in periods of 10-130 s. The average shear wave velocity andquality factor Qβ structures in the crust and upper mantle were obtained in this region. The result shows the average oP is low and there exists a high attenuation (Qβ= 93- 141 ) layer in the crust. The depth range of the lowoP value layer (16-42 km) is consistent with the range of low velocity layer (21-51 km) in the crust. Below63 km in the lower crust, oP decreases with depth from 114 to 34 at depth of 180 km. The low shear wave velocity and low value of Qβ at the same depth range in the crust indicate that the rocks in the range is probablymelted or Partially melted. According to the shear wave velocity structure, the average thickness of the crust is about 71 km and a clear velocity discontiniuty appears at the depth of 51 km. The low-velocity zone (4. 26 km/s) at depth of 96-180 km may be corresponding to the asthenosphere.展开更多

The framework is enhanced with a standardized data exchange format and connected to a generalized controller interface program which facilitates communication with various types of laboratory equipment and testing configurations. A small-scale experimental program was conducted using a six degree-of-freedom hydraulic testing equipment to verify the proposed framework and provide additional data for small-scale testing of shear- critical reinforced concrete structures. The specimens were tested in a multi-axial hybrid simulation manner under a reversed cyclic loading condition simulating earthquake forces. The physical models were 1/3.23-scale representations of a beam and two columns. A mixed-type modelling technique was employed to analyze the remainder of the structures. The hybrid simulation results were compared against those obtained from a large-scale test and finite element analyses. The study found that if precautions are taken in preparing model materials and if the shear-related mechanisms are accurately considered in the numerical model, small-scale hybrid simulations can adequately simulate the behaviour of shear-critical structures. Although the findings of the study are promising, to draw general conclusions additional test data are required.展开更多

文摘Intercalating Nb-based oxides are promising anode compounds for lithiumion batteries since they have both good safety and large capacities. However, the research in this field is still limited.Here,Mo_(3)Nb_(14)O_(44)with a large theoretical capacity of 398 mAh g^(–1)(Mo^(64)←→Mo^(4+)and Nb^(5+)←→Nb^(3+))is exploited as a new Nb-based oxide anode compound, and Mo_(3)Nb_(14)O_(44)micron-sized particles(Mo_(3)Nb_(14)O_(44)-M)and Mo3Nb14O44 nanowires(Mo_(3)Nb_(14)O_(44)-N)are demonstrated.Mo3Nb14O44 owns a tetragonal shear ReO_(3)crystal structure(high-symmetric 14 space group)constructed by 4×4×∞(Mo,Nb)O_(6)octahedron blocks linked by Mo O4 tetrahedra, forming an A–B–A layered structure with a large interlayer spacing. This interesting structure allows fast Li+storage within the interlayers and significant intercalation-pseudocapacitive behavior, leading to the high rate performance of Mo_(3)Nb_(14)O_(44)-M/Mo_(3)Nb_(14)O_(44)-N with a large 10 C versus 0.1 C capacity retention percentage of 38.1/54.2%.Mo_(3)Nb_(14)O_(44)-M/Mo_(3)Nb_(14)O_(44)-N further exhibits a safe operating potential of 1.72/1.68 V,large reversible capacity of 323/321 m Ah g^(–1)at 0.1 C,high initial coulombic efficiency of 92.2/90.0%,and good cycling stability with 71.8/75.8%capacity retention after 1000 cycles at10 C.Additionally,a Li Mn_(2)O_(4)/Mo_(3)Nb_(14)O_(44)-N full cell also performs well.Therefore,Mo_(3)Nb_(14)O_(44)holds great promise as a fast-charging,safe,largecapacity,high-efficient,and long-life Li^(+)anode container.
文摘There are many examples that fluid flows on rough wall, such as channel flow in nature, pipe flow, etc. In order to know the flow structure of real fluids, it is important to study the effects of wall roughness on coherent structure in turbulent shear flows. The experiments were carried out in a square glass channel, which is 600cm long, with the cross section of 30×25cm^2. The flow velocity was varied from 2 to 40 cm/s. Uniform sands whose diameters were 0.0012cm, 0.2gcm, 0.385cm, 0.594cm and 0.896cm respectively were glued to the floor of the channel. The rough Reynolds number Re_Δ= U_*Δ/ν=0.04~73, where U_*is the shear velocity, Δ is the diame- ter of uniform sand, v is the kinematic viscosity coefficient. Hydrogen bubble technique for flow visualization and HWL-II hot-film anemometer for velocity mea- surement were used in the experiments.

文摘Jinan is an important city in eastern China, with rich groundwater in the region. There are four famous springs in the urban area and an abundance of geothermal water in the northern part, which makes the migration of groundwater in this area a very important issue. To study the shallow shear wave velocity structure and groundwater migration in Jinan,we utilized almost a month of continuous waveform data from 175 short period seismometers deployed by the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences,in order to calculate the cross-correlation function. We picked 7749 group dispersion curves and 6117 phase dispersion curves with a period range of 0.2–2 s.Through inversion,we obtained the fine threedimensional shear wave velocity and azimuthal anisotropy structure(0–2.4 km).Combining the results with local geological and hydrological data, the following conclusions were reached.(1)There are widespread high velocity anomalies in the region between the Qianfoshan and Wenhuaqiao faults,as well as to the east of the Wenhuaqiao Fault, which may be related to the intrusive gabbro known as the Jinan Intrusive Rock.(2)The two distinct high velocity anomalies in our model(referred to as west and east Jinan Intrusive Rock in this paper)may indicate that the Jinan Intrusive Rock was broken through crustal movement.(3)There is an obvious low velocity layer under the intrusive rock, which could be the channel of groundwater migration. The precipitation in the southern mountain region seeps down into the ground, then is blocked by the Jinan Intrusive Rock and can only progress downwards to a deeper part, where the groundwater is heated by the geothermal gradient. The heated water finally arrives at the northern part and forms geothermal water.(4)The depth of the low velocity layer beneath the Jinan Intrusive Rock varies laterally, which may indicate that the depth of the groundwater migration is different beneath the west and east Jinan Intrusive Rock.(5)There is strong azimuthal anisotropy in southern Jinan, with nearly E-W fast orientation, which may be related to the tilt limestone layering structure.

文摘The reversibility of the structure and dewaterability of broken anaerobic digested sludge(ADS)is important to ensure the efficiency of sludge treatment or management processes. This study investigated the effect of continuous strong shear(CSS)and multipulse shear(MPS)on the zeta potential, size(median size,d(50)),mass fractal dimension(DF),and capillary suction time(CST)of ADS aggregates. Moreover, the self-regrowth(SR)of broken ADS aggregates during slow mixing was also analyzed. The results show that raw ADS with d(50) of 56.5μm was insensitive to CSS–SR or MPS–SR,though the size slightly decreased after the breakage phase. For conditioned ADS with d(50) larger than 600μm,the breakage in small-scale surface erosion changed to large-scale fragmentation as the CSS strength increased. In most cases, after CSS or MPS,the broken ADS had a relatively more compact structure than before and d(50) is at least 200μm.The CST of the broken fragments from optimally dosed ADS increased, whereas that corresponding to overdosed ADS decreased.MPS treatment resulted in larger and more compact broken ADS fragments with a lower CST value than CSS.During the subsequent slow mixing, the broken ADS aggregates did not recover their charge, size, and dewaterability to the initial values before breakage. In addition, less than 15%self-regrowth in terms of percentage of the regrowth factor was observed in broken ADS after CSS at average velocity gradient no less than 1905.6 sec^(-1).

文摘Organic semiconductors are inherently soft, making it possible to increase their mobilities by strains.Such a unique feature can be exploited directly in flexible electronics for improved device performance. The 2,7-dioctyl[1]benzothieno[3,2-b][1]-benzothiophene derivative,C8-BTBT is one of the best small-molecule hole transport materials. Here,we demonstrated its band structure modulation under strains by combining the non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations and first-principles calculations. We found that the C8-BTBT lattice undergoes a transition from monoclinic to triclinic crystal system at the temperature below 160 K.Both shear and uniaxial strains were applied to the low-temperature triclinic phase of C8-BTBT,and polymorphism was identified in the shear process. The band width enhancement is up to 8%under 2%of compressive strain along the x direction, and 14%under 4%of tensile strain along the y direction. The band structure modulation of C8-BTBT can be well related to its herringbone packing motifs, where the edge to face and edge to edge pairs constitute two-dimensional charge transport pathways and their electronic overlaps determine the band widths along the two directions respectively. These findings pave the way for utilizing strains towards improved performance of organic semiconductors on flexible substrates, for example,by bending the substrates.

文摘Based on Mindlin plate models and Kirchhoff plate models, this study was concerned with the wave propagation characteristics in thick conventional and auxetic cellular structures, with the objective to clarify the effects of negative Poisson's ratio, shear factor and orthotropic mechanical properties on the dynamic behaviors of thick plates.Numerical results revealed that the predictions using variable shear factor in Mindlin plate models resulted in high wave frequencies, which were more significant for plates with negative values of Poisson's ratio. The present study can be useful for the design of critical applications by varying the values of Poisson's ratio.

文摘Two experimental tests of three-storied reinforced concrete structural walls having large openings were performed.Based on an original macro model,a multiple modified macro-model was proposed to develop a simple method to design a reinforced concrete structural wall with large openings and various opening locations. The interaction between reinforcement ties and concrete struts formed along the perimeter of openings was neglected in the original model. However, the strut-and-tie node was proposed to take account of such interaction in the proposed model. The predicted behavior of two specimens using such a proposed model was compared with the experimental results. It is shown that the behavior of structural walls with large openings could be modeled well using the proposed model. Moreover, the study indicates that the proposed model is applicable even in cases of multi-story structural walls having large openings and various opening locations.
