Based on the Lyapunov stability theory and adaptive control technique, a single adaptive-feedback controller is developed to synchronize a class of fractional-order chaotic systems. The presented controller which only contains a single driving variable is simple both in design and in implementation. Numerical simulation and circuit experimental results for fractional-order chaotic system are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.展开更多

First of all, the dy...Angular velocity stabilization control and attitude stabilization control for an underactuated spacecraft using only two single gimbal control moment gyros (SGCMGs) as actuators is investigated. First of all, the dynamic model of the underactuated spacecraft is established and the singularity of different configurations with the two SGCMGs is analyzed. Under the assumption that the gimbal axes of the two SGCMGs are installed in any direction, and that the total system angular momentum is not zero, a state feedback control law via Lyapunov method is designed to globally asymptotically stabilize the angular velocity of spacecraft. Under the assumption that the gimbal axes of the two SGCMGs are coaxially installed along anyone of the three principal axes of spacecraft inertia, and that the total system angular momentum is zero, a discontinuous state feedback control law is designed to stabilize three-axis attitude of spacecraft with respect to the inertial frame. Furthermore, the singularity escape of SGCMGs for the above two control problems is also studied. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the control laws.展开更多
Marine current energy has been increasingly used because of its predictable higher power potential.Owing to the external disturbances of various flow velocity and the high nonlinear effects on the marine current turbi...Marine current energy has been increasingly used because of its predictable higher power potential.Owing to the external disturbances of various flow velocity and the high nonlinear effects on the marine current turbine(MCT)system,the nonlinear controllers which rely on precise mathematical models show poor performance under a high level of parameters’uncertainties.This paper proposes an adaptive single neural control(ASNC)strategy for variable step-size perturb and observe(P&O)maximum power point tracking(MPPT)control.Firstly,to automatically update the neuron weights of SNC for the nonlinear systems,an adaptive mechanism is proposed to adaptively adjust the weighting and learning coefficients.Secondly,aiming to generate the exact reference speed for ASNC to extract the maximum power,a variable step-size law based on speed increment is designed to strike a balance between tracking speed and accuracy of P&O MPPT.The robust stability of the MCT control system is guaranteed by the Lyapunov theorem.Comparative simulation results show that this strategy has favorable adaptive performance under variable velocity conditions,and the MCT system operates at maximum power point steadily.展开更多
Inter-area low frequency oscillation in power system is one of the major problems for bulk power transmission through weak tie lines.Use of wide-area signal is more effective than the local area signal in damping out ...Inter-area low frequency oscillation in power system is one of the major problems for bulk power transmission through weak tie lines.Use of wide-area signal is more effective than the local area signal in damping out the inter-area oscillations.Wide area measurement system(WAMS)is convenient to transmit the wide area signal through the communication channel to the remote location.Communication failure is one of the disastrous phenomena in a communication channel.In this paper,a dual input single output(DISO)Hm controller is designed to build the control resiliency by employing two highest observability ranking wide area signals with respect to the critical damping inter-area mode.The proposed controller can provide sufficient damping to the system and also the system remains stabilized if one of the wide-area signals is lost.The time delay is an unwanted phenomenon that degrades the performance of the controllers.The unified Smith predictor approach is used to design a Hm controller to handle the time delay.Kundur's two-area and IEEE-39 bus test systems are considered to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller.From the simulation results,it is verified that,the proposed controller provides excellent damping performance at normal communication and improves the controller resiliency to counteract the communication failure.展开更多

In order to overcome the essential difficulties in iteratively adjusting multiple parameters of conventional multi-parameter control, this paper introduces a unified step function controlled by a single parameter for constructing various multi-wing chaotic and hyperchaotic systems. In particular, to the best of the authors' knowledge, this is also the first time to find a non-equilibrium multi-wing hyperchaotic system by means of the unified step function control. According to the heteroclinic loop Shilnikov theorem, some properties for multi-wing attractors and its chaos mechanism are further discussed and analyzed. Based on the mathematical model, simulation research and experimental investigation with subsection PID control, neural network self-adaptive PID control and single neuron self-adaptive PID control adopted respectively are carried out, and the results indicate that compared with PID control, neural network self-adaptive PID control and single neuron self-adaptive PID control don't need controlled system's accurate model and have fast response, high control accuracy and strong robustness, they are very suitable for HM position servo control system.展开更多

Then, the singular angular momentum hypersurfaces of the original and the degraded systems are plotted via the singular angular momentum equa- tion of SGCMGs. Based on singular surfaces, the differences between FPC and DPC in singularity and momentum envelope are obtained directly, which provide an important reference for steering law design of DPC. Finally, an IC steering law is designed and applied to DPC. The simulation results demonstrate that the IC steering law has advantages in simplicity of calculation, avoidance of singularity and exactness of output torque, which endow the degraded system with fine controllability in a restricted workspace.展开更多

For this reason, it has become necessary to improve the check of a total station in order to respond to its contemporary way of use. The aim of this research is to create a new method for checking total stations using only one check--field, in a different way of the today's standards. The basic principle, of the comparison of an instrument's measurements to those of another instrument with higher accuracy, is implemented into a mathematical model such as the adjustment of an indoor geodetic network. Thus, the check of the proper function of a total station is applied. An a-priori calculation Of^o of the network's adjustment can be calculated by modeling the uncertainties using statistical methods as the random number generators by means of the Monte Carlo method. For a complex multi-variable dynamic system, a dynamic simulation model is first established. In view of close coupling and non-linear relationships between variables, the intelligent auto-adapted PI decoupling control method is used. From the simulation results it is found that, by bringing quadratic performance index in the single neuron, constructing adaptive PI controller, and adjusting gas flow rates through the second pressure relief valve and air compressor coordinately, both anode and cathode pressures can be maintained at ideal levels.展开更多

The growth characteristics of γ' precipitate...The γ/γ' microstructural evolution in a nickel based single crystal superalloy during load-free thermal exposure at 900 ℃ has been further investigated in this paper. The growth characteristics of γ' precipitates were discussed in detail. The generation of interfacial dislocations would accelerate the rate of coalescence in the dendrite arms. The average sizes of precipitates were used to compare interface with diffusion controlled growth mechanism and no mechanism seems obviously dominant, although the square rate law gives slightly better fit. The coarsening behavior may be controlled by diffusion through the ragged interface between the γ' precipitate and the y matrix.展开更多
