The method implements functions of adaptive and self-learning by adjusting weighting parameters. Adaptive neural network can make some output trail given hoping value to decouple in static state. In order to help the hydraulic servo system of the quadruped robot to adapt to harsh environments, and to obtain high control quality and control precision, an incremental fuzzy adaptive PID controller based on position feedback is designed to solve the related technical problems. Aimed at the lack of self-tuning PID parameters in conventional PID controllers, the structure and learning algorithm of an adaptive PID controller based on reinforcement learning were proposed. Actor-Critic learning was used to tune PID parameters in an adaptive way by taking advantage of the model-free and on-line learning properties of reinforcement learning effectively. In order to reduce the demand of storage space and to improve the learning efficiency, a single RBF neural network was used to approximate the policy function of Actor and the value function of Critic simultaneously. The inputs of RBF network are the system error, as well as the first and the second-order differences of error. The Actor can realize the mapping from the system state to PID parameters, while the Critic evaluates the outputs of the Actor and produces TD error. Based on TD error performance index and gradient descent method, the updating rules of RBF kernel function and network weights were given. Simulation results show that the proposed controller is efficient for complex nonlinear systems and it is perfectly adaptable and strongly robust, which is better than that of a conventional PID controller. 展开更多

An adaptive proportional–integral–derivative(PID)controller based on Q-learning algorithm is proposed to balance the cart–pole system in simulation environment.This controller was trained using Q-learning algorithm and implemented the learned Q-tables to change the gains of linear PID controllers according to the state of the system during the control process.The adaptive PID controller based on Q-learning algorithm was trained from a set of fixed initial positions and was able to balance the system starting from a series of initial positions that are different from the ones used in the training session,which achieved equivalent or even better performances in comparison with the conventional PID controller and the controller only uses Q-learning algorithm.This indicates the advantage of the adaptive PID controller based on Q-learning algorithm both in the generality of balancing the cart–pole system from a relatively wide range of initial positions and in the stabilisability of achieving smaller steady-state error. 展开更多

The control design, based on self-adaptive PID with genetic algorithms(GA) tuning on-line was investigated, for the temperature control of industrial microwave drying rotary device with the multi-layer(IMDRDWM) and with multivariable nonlinear interaction of microwave and materials. The conventional PID control strategy incorporated with optimization GA was put forward to maintain the optimum drying temperature in order to keep the moisture content below 1%, whose adaptation ability included the cost function of optimization GA according to the output change. Simulations on five different industrial process models and practical temperature process control system for selenium-enriched slag drying intensively by using IMDRDWM were carried out systematically, indicating the reliability and effectiveness of control design. The parameters of proposed control design are all on-line implemented without iterative predictive calculations, and the closed-loop system stability is guaranteed, which makes the developed scheme simpler in its synthesis and application, providing the practical guidelines for the control implementation and the parameter design. 展开更多

Quasi-PID control method that is able to effectively inhibit the inherent tracking error of PI control method is proposed on the basis of a rounded theoretical analysis of a model of switching power amplifiers (SPAs). To avoid the harmful impacts of the circuit parameter variations and the random disturbances on quasi-PID control method, a single neuron is introduced to endow it with self-adaptability. Quasi-PID control method and the single neuron combine with each other perfectly, and their formation is named as single-neuron adaptive quasi-PID control method. Simulation and experimental results show that single-neuron adaptive quasi-PID control method can accurately track both the predictable and the unpredictable waveforms. Quantitative analysis demonstrates that the accuracy of single-neuron adaptive quasi-PID control method is comparable to that of linear power amplifiers (LPAs) and so can fulfill the requirements of some high-accuracy applications, such as protective relay test. Such accuracy is very difficult to be achieved by many modern control methods for converter controls. Compared with other modern control methods, the programming realization of single-neuron adaptive quasi-PID control method is more suitable for real-time applications and realization on low-end microprocessors for its simple structure and lower computational complexity. 展开更多

The parameters of the fuzzy PHD controller are linked, via analytical derivation, to the gains of the linear PID controller. The sum of error square is used as performance criterion to locate the model that best reresents the process among the multiple models, The desired control output to drive the process along the desired path is generated only by modifying the output scale factots GU_I and GU_D of the fuzzy PID controller, Among the prescribed models, the control signal of the nearestmmodel to the system is applied. An improved single-neuron proportional integral derivative ( PID ) controller and a new method to build the DC motor system were presented in the article. In the simulation, the robot arm is considered as an external load to DC motor. Both the motor module and the load module are crea- ted in Simulink to achieve simulation results closer to real robot system. In this way, it can well veri- fy the performance of the improved single-neuron PID controller, which is a combined controller of normal PID controller and single-neuron PID controller. Besides, an intelligent switcher can help to realize the function of choosing a better control algorithm according to motor' s velocity output. Sim- ulated results confirm the rapid and stable response of the improved PID controller. Moreover, the improved single-neuron PID controller has an excellent ability to overcome the load impact and su- press the jamming signals. The PID parameters are corrected by the gradient descent method, and Radial Basis Functiion (RBF) neural network is used as the system identifier in this method. Sinlation results show that by using neural network adaptive PID controller the generator power control can inhibit effectively the speed and affect the output prover of generator. However, nonlinearities continue to limit their performance. To compensate, advanced nonlinear and adaptive control strategies can be used. But the more successful advanced strategies typically need a mathematical model of the system to be controlled. The advantage of neural networks is that they do not require a model. This paper reports on a study whose objective is to explore the potential of a novel adaptive on-line neural network compensator (ANNC) for the position control of a pneumatic gantry robot. It was found that by combining ANNC with a traditional PID controller, tracking performance could be improved on the order of 45% to 70%. This level of performance was achieved after careful tuning of both the ANNC and PID components. The paper sets out to document the ANNC algorithm, the adopted tuning procedure, and presents experimental results that illustrate the adaptive nature of NN and confirms the performance achievable with ANNC. A major contribution is demonstration that tuning of ANNC requires no more effort than the tuning of PID. 展开更多

The technology of attitude control for quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) is one of the most important UAVs' research areas.In order to achieve a satisfactory operation in quadrotor UAVs having proportional integration differential(PID) controllers,it is necessary to appropriately adjust the controller coefficients which are dependent on dynamic parameters of the quadrotor UAV and any changes in parameters and conditions could affect desired performance of the controller.In this paper,combining with PID control and fuzzy logic control,a kind of fuzzy self-adaptive PID control algorithm for attitude stabilization of the quadrotor UAV was put forward.Firstly,the nonlinear model of six degrees of freedom(6-DOF) for quadrotor UAV is established.Secondly,for obtaining the attitude of quadrotor,attitude data fusion using complementary filtering is applied to improving the measurement accuracy and dynamic performance.Finally,the attitude stabilization control simulation model of the quadrotor UAV is build,and the self-adaptive fuzzy parameter tuning rules for PID attitude controller are given,so as to realize the online self-tuning of the controller parameters.Simulation results show that comparing with the conventional PID controller,this attitude control algorithm of fuzzy self-adaptive PID has a better dynamic response performance. 展开更多

Accurate trajectory control of a robot is essential in practical-use. This paper presents an adaptive proportional integral differential (PID) control algorithm based on radial basis function (RBF) neural network for trajectory tracking of a two-degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) closed-chain robot. In this scheme, an RBF neural network is used to approximate the unknown nonlinear dynamics of the robot, at the same time, the PID parameters can be adjusted online and the high precision can be obtained. Simulation results show that the control algorithm accurately tracks a 2-DOF closed-chain robot trajectories. The results also indicate that the system robustness and tracking performance are superior to the classic PID method. 展开更多

The design and analysis of a fractional order proportional integral deri-vate(FOPID)controller integrated with an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS)is proposed in this study.Afirst order plus delay time plant model has been used to validate the ANFIS combined FOPID control scheme.In the pro-posed adaptive control structure,the intelligent ANFIS was designed such that it will dynamically adjust the fractional order factors(λandµ)of the FOPID(also known as PIλDµ)controller to achieve better control performance.When the plant experiences uncertainties like external load disturbances or sudden changes in the input parameters,the stability and robustness of the system can be achieved effec-tively with the proposed control scheme.Also,a modified structure of the FOPID controller has been used in the present system to enhance the dynamic perfor-mance of the controller.An extensive MATLAB software simulation study was made to verify the usefulness of the proposed control scheme.The study has been carried out under different operating conditions such as external disturbances and sudden changes in input parameters.The results obtained using the ANFIS-FOPID control scheme are also compared to the classical fractional order PIλDµand conventional PID control schemes to validate the advantages of the control-lers.The simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the ANFIS combined FOPID controller for the chosen plant model.Also,the proposed control scheme outperformed traditional control methods in various performance metrics such as rise time,settling time and error criteria. 展开更多
