The pyrolysis of cyclohexane,methylcyclohexane,and ethylcyclohexane have been studied behind reflected shock waves at pressures of 5 and10 bar and at temperatures of 930-1550 K for 0.05%fuel diluted by Argon.A single-pulse shock tube(SPST)is used to perform the pyrolysis experiments at reaction times varying from 1.65 to 1.74 ms.Major products are obtained and quantified using gas chromatography analysis.A flame ionization detector and a thermal conductivity detector are used for species identification and quantification.Kinetic modeling has been performed using several detailed and lumped chemical kinetic mechanisms.Differences in modeling results among the kinetic models are described.Reaction path analysis and sensitivity analysis are performed to determine the important reactions controlling fuel pyrolysis and their influence on the predicted concentrations of reactant and product species profiles.The present work provides new fundamental knowledge in understating pyrolysis characteristics of cyclohexane compounds and additional data set for detailed kinetic mechanism development. 展开更多

Presently,we develop a simplified corticothalamic(SCT)model and propose a single-pulse alternately resetting stimulation(SARS)with sequentially applying anodic(A,“+”)or cathodic(C,“−”)phase pulses to the thalamic reticular(RE)nuclei,thalamus-cortex(TC)relay nuclei,and cortical excitatory(EX)neurons,respectively.Abatement effects of ACC-SARS of RE,TC,and EX for the 2 Hz-4 Hz spike and wave discharges(SWD)of absence seizures are then concerned.The m∶n on-off ACC-SARS protocol is shown to effectively reduce the SWD with the least current consumption.In particular,when its frequency is out of the 2 Hz-4 Hz SWD dominant rhythm,the desired seizure abatements can be obtained,which can be further improved by our proposed directional steering(DS)stimulation.The dynamical explanations for the SARS induced seizure abatements are lastly given by calculating the averaged mean firing rate(AMFR)of neurons and triggering averaged mean firing rates(TAMFRs)of 2 Hz-4 Hz SWD. 展开更多

In order to carry out the ablation process, a Nd:YAG laser was used emitting in 1064 nm wavelength at 10 Hz repetition rate, set up for operating in both single-pulse and multi-pulse regimes. A comparison of the deposition rate, the optical and morphological properties of the layers obtained from both ablation regimes was made, which showed that the multi-pulsed ablation produced layers with a higher surface quality and better optical properties. 展开更多

Simulation of temperature distribution and discharge crater of SiC_(p)/Al composites in a single-pulsed arc discharge

SiC_(p)/Al composites are difficult-to-cut materials.In recent years,electrical arc discharge machining has been developed to improve the machinability of these materials.However,there is a big challenge to build a satisfactory heat transfer model of SiC_(p)/Al composites in the arc machining.This is not only because of the material property difference between the reinforcement and matrix material but also because of the micro-dimension Si C reinforcements.This paper established a new heat conduction simulation model considering the Si C particle-Al matrix interface and the phase change effects in a single-pulsed arc discharge of SiC_(p)/Al composites.A novel Si C particle-Al matrix cell geometric model was designed firstly.Then,the temperature distribution at a different depth from the workpiece surface was analyzed,the influence of sic volume fraction on temperature field was studied,and the contribution of the interface thermal resistance and latent heat were explained.To demonstrate the validity of the new numerical model,comparisons and verifications were employed.Finally,the method of improving the model was proposed and the machining mechanism of arc discharge of SiC_(p)/Al matrix materials was discussed.It was found that high temperature is prone to concentrate on the surface layers of the workpiece especially when the Si C fraction is high,also,the temperature fluctuates respectively at the evaporation point of aluminum and Si C,and the Si C-Al resistance has less influence on temperature distribution compared to latent heat,etc.The model build in this work improves the simulation accuracy observably compared to the previous model,and the simulation work will help to acquire a detailed mechanism of material removal of SiC_(p)/Al composites in the arc discharge machining. 展开更多
