The effect of right versus left long-term single-sided deafness on sound source localization

Purpose: To analyze the effect of right versus left long-term single-sided deafness(SSD) on sound source localization(SSL), discuss the necessity of intervention and treatment for SSD patients, and analyze the therapeutic effect of long-term unilateral cochlear implantation(UCI) from the perspective of SSL.Methods: This study included 25 patients with SSD, 11 patients with UCI, and 30 participants with normal hearing(NH). Their SSL ability was tested by obtaining their average root mean square(RMS) error values of SSL test.Results: The results showed that the RMS error value of SSD, UCI and NH groups were 52.26 ± 20.25°, 69.84 ±12.14° and 4.27 ± 2.66°, respectively. The ability of SSL was better in the SSD-L group than that in the SSD-R group, and no significant difference existed in the SSD-R and the UCI group.Conclusion: When bilateral deafness patients select unilateral treatment, right-side cochlear implantation may be more beneficial in terms of SSL, which means that the central auditory cortex in long-term SSD patients is affected differently based on which side their deafness occurs.

Experimental study on failure characteristics of single-sided unloading rock under different intermediate principal stress conditions

Investigation of unloading rock failure under differentσ_(2)facilitates the control mechanism of excavation surrounding rock.This study focused on single-sided unloading tests of granite specimens under true triaxial conditions.The strength and failure characteristics were studied with micro-camera and acoustic emission(AE)monitoring.Furthermore,the choice of test path and the effect ofσ_(2)on fracture of unloading rock were discussed.Results show that the increasedσ_(2)can strengthen the stability of single-sided unloading rock.After unloading,the rock’s free surface underwent five phases,namely,inoculation,particle ejection,buckling rupture,stable failure,and unstable rockburst phases.Moreover,atσ_(2)≤30 MPa,the b value shows the following variation tendency:rising,dropping,significant fluctuation,and dropping,with dispersed damages signal.Atσ_(2)≥40 MPa,the tendency shows:a rise,a decrease,a slight fluctuation,and final drop,with concentrated damages signal.After unloading,AE energy is mainly concentrated in the micro-energy range.With the increasedσ_(2),the micro-energy ratio rises.In contrast,low,medium and large energy ratios drop gradually.The increased tensile fractures and decreased shear fractures indicate that the failure mode of the unloading rock gradually changes from tensile-shear mode to tensile-split one.The fractional dimension of the rock fragments first increases and then decreases with an inflection point at 20 MPa.The distribution of SIF on the planes changes asσ_(2)increases,resulting in strengthening and then weakening of the rock bearing capacity.

Characteristics Investigation of Single-Sided Ironless PMLSM Based on Halbach Array for Medium-Speed Maglev Train

This paper investigates characteristics of ironless permanent magnet linear synchronous motor(PMLSM)based on Halbach array used for medium-speed(200km/h)maglev train.Long primary ironless coil is laid in the middle of track and the Halbach permanent magnet array is attached to the bottom of each bogie as a source of traction,U-shape electromagnets at the both sides of the train for levitation.Two dimensional analytical model of single-sided ironless PMLSM based on Halbach array is established,using linear overlay method,the no-load air gap magnetic field is calculated firstly,winding current density distribution is obtained for calculating the characteristics of thrust and normal force against power angle,including force characteristics with equal and unequal pole pitch,the influence of steel sleeper,etc.Besides,the mathematical model for this type motor is built by 3D finite element method,the traction characteristics of medium-speed maglev under maximum speed 200km/h are calculated.The characteristics of this type motor are satisfactory owing to there is no detent force in the motor and thrust force reach maximum meanwhile normal force can be eliminated.Calculation method is verified by comparing finite element results,experimental result on a 200kW type motor further validates the accuracy of calculation and some important conclusions are obtained.

Adaptive current compensation with nonlinear disturbance observer for single-sided linear induction motor considering dynamic eddy-effect

An adaptive current compensation control for a single-sided linear induction motor(SLIM) with nonlinear disturbance observer was developed. First, to maintain t-axis secondary component flux constant with consideration of the specially dynamic eddy-effect(DEE) of the SLIM, a instantaneously tracing compensation of m-axis current component was analyzed. Second,adaptive current compensation based on Taylor-discretization algorithm was proposed. Third, an effective kind of nonlinear disturbance observer(NDOB) was employed to estimate and compensate the undesired load vibrations, then the robustness of the control system could be guaranteed. Experimental verification of the feasibility of the proposed method for an SLIM control system was performed, and it showed that the proposed adaptive compensation scheme with NDOB could significantly promote speed dynamical response and minimize speed ripple under the conditions of external load coupled vibrations and unavoidable feedback control variables measured errors, i.e., current and speed.

基于Bradley-Terry模型的学术期刊影响力分析

为了提高学术期刊的水平,科学评价学术期刊的质量,基于图书情报专业的18种核心期刊2011—2015年间互引频次数据,分析18种核心期刊在引用和被引用频数分布的主要特征,并用Bradley-Terry模型估计期刊的影响力,根据其影响力进行排序.结果表明,各个期刊引用和被引用的指标比较均衡,没有出现过多集中的现象.在这些核心期刊中,《图书馆》《中国图书馆学报》《现代图书情报技术》和《大学图书馆学报》的影响力明显高于其他期刊的影响力,它们属于知识信息产出型期刊,其他期刊则属于知识信息应用型的期刊.

基于加权Bradley-Terry模型的民机EWIS环境敏感度分析

电气线路互联系统(EWIS)跨越飞机各区域,受到不同环境因素的影响,对其设计、安全性评估以及维护带来极大困难.采用加权Bradley-Terry模型对机载导线的环境影响因素进行建模,在环境的强度参数的基础上,引入不同环境条件的影响权重,给出机载导线对不同环境因素的敏感度分析.分析结果表明,加权Bradley-Terry模型能够合理地处理两个环境比较无法得出优劣的情况,并定量地确定了影响导线失效的主要因素.

动态Bradley-Terry模型在CBA球队实力分析中应用

在体育比赛数据中,胜负关系数据是其中的重要类型,属于成对比较数据,而Bradley-Terry模型是拟合成对比较数据的主要模型.Bradley-Terry模型结合指数加权移动平均过程,对中国男子职业篮球联赛2015—2016常规赛季的20支球队的实力进行动态分析,得到了各支球队的实力在常规赛季中随时间变化的趋势,再根据球队实力变化趋势,将20支球队分成三大类,每一类都表现出了不同的特点.与Bradley-Terry模型分析结果相比,应用指数加权移动平均过程的动态Bradley-Terry模型提供的信息更多,计算结果更合理.

Reactive and non-reactive transport modelling in partially water saturated argillaceous porous media around the ventilation experiment,Mont Terri

At Mont Terri Underground Research Laboratory （URL） Switzerland, a specific experiment has been per- formed in a tunnel, in order to investigate the hydro-mechano-chemical （HMC） perturbations induced in the argillaceous formation by forced ventilation. This experiment has been selected in the international project DECOVALEX to be used for process model development and validation. The numerical simula- tion of the geochemical response to the ventilation experiment （VE） is the object of the present paper, focusing on the transport of chloride as a conservative species and sulphate as a reactive species. Uti- lising the validated hydro-mechanical （HM） results from earlier steps of the DECOVALEX task, reactive and non-reactive transport models, incorporating the current understanding of the geochemistry at the site, were successfully constructed for the whole experimental period. The associated parametric and process uncertainty analyses clearly demonstrate that the basic HM understanding must be sound. How- ever, to demonstrate this degree of robustness, the explicit inclusion of process representations of water desaturation, liquid vaporisation, species exclusion porosity, and redox processes, is required.

Winning Probability Estimation Based on Improved Bradley-Terry Model and Bayesian Network for Aircraft Carrier Battle

To provide a decision-making aid for aircraft carrier battle,the winning probability estimation based on Bradley-Terry model and Bayesian network is presented. Firstly,the armed forces units of aircraft carrier are classified into three types,which are aircraft,ship and submarine. Then,the attack ability value and defense ability value for each type of armed forces are estimated by using BP neural network,whose training results of sample data are consistent with the estimation results. Next,compared the assessment values through an improved Bradley-Terry model and constructed a Bayesian network to do the global assessment,the winning probabilities of both combat sides are obtained. Finally,the winning probability estimation for a navy battle is given to illustrate the validity of the proposed scheme.

一种基于神经网络和Bradley-Terry模型的围棋等级分模型

竞技类体育赛事和游戏等一般都依赖于等级分系统进行评价,现有等级分系统存在对局信息未得到充分利用问题。针对围棋对局数据的时间跨度大及包含让子棋局特点,基于经典成对数据比较模型(Bradley-Terry模型)构建神经网络等级分模型(NN-Rating)。通过历史衰减方法提高模型时效性,同时借鉴主场优势特性扩展模型处理让子棋局。在真实围棋比赛数据上的实验结果及其分析表明,NN-Rating模型有良好的客观性和稳定性,相比较Elo、Trueskill和Whole-History Rating(WHR)算法具有更高的预测准确性。

Clifford Terry滑结联合可调节缝合在斜视手术中的应用

目的:探讨Clifford Terry滑结联合可调节缝合在斜视手术中的临床应用。方法:采取回顾性研究方法,选取我院2012-05/2015-05收治的行常规斜视矫正术的45例71眼患者(对照组)与应用Clifford Terry滑结斜视矫正术45例70眼患者(研究组)为研究对象,对其术后随访1d^12mo。观察术后眼位、有无调整眼位及是否有二次手术,对术后眼位与术前眼位矫正变化情况比较分析。结果:术后第1d Clifford Terry滑结联合可调节缝合达正位42例67眼,1例1眼过矫,2例2眼欠矫,正位率为96%。经过Clifford Terry滑结调整松紧,正位率达到100%,研究组1、3、6、12mo术后眼位情况与对照组矫正正位效果比较未见明显差异。两组均未出现结膜裂开、肌肉滑脱、感染等术后并发症。采用Clifford Terry滑结联合可调节缝合在术中及术后早期对眼位进行微调,可即刻达到目标眼位。结论:Clifford Terry滑结术中操作简单、术后调整缝线松紧容易操作,联合可调节缝合在斜视手术的术中及术后早期表面麻醉下即可达到目标眼位,减低术后早期二次手术的风险,优于单纯可调节缝合法。

Approaches for representing hydro-mechanical coupling between sub-surface excavations and argillaceous porous media at the ventilation experiment, Mont Terri

At the Mont Terri Underground Research Laboratory （Switzerland）, a field-scale investigation has been conducted in order to investigate the hydro-mechanical and chemical perturbations induced in the argilla- ceous formation by forced ventilation through a tunnel. This experiment has been selected to be used for processing model development and validation in the international project DECOVALEX-2011. The con- ceptual and mathematical representation of the engineered void, which itself forms a major part of the experiment and is not simply a boundary condition, is the subject of this paper. A variety of approaches have been examined by the contributors to DECOVALEX and a summary of their findings is presented here. Two major aspects are discussed. Firstly, the approaches for the treatment of the surface condition at the porous media/tunnel interface are examined, with two equivalent but differing formulations successfully demonstrated. Secondly, approaches for representing the tunnel with associated air and water vapour movement, when coupled with the hydro-mechanical （HM） representation of the porous medium, are also examined. It is clearly demonstrated that, for the experimental conditions of the ventilation experiment （VE） that abstracted physical and empirical models of the tunnel, can be used successfully to represent the hydraulic behaviour of the tunnel and the hydraulic interaction between the tunnel and the surrounding rock mass.
