The proposed system is successfully implemented using a single digital signal processor (DSP) TMS320F2808. The proposed single-stage inverter system has the following features: 1) the ability to harvest the maximum PV power using two simple and effective current sampling methods;2) flexible topology based on the positioning of DC link capacitor on the outside of the inverter bridge circuits;3) reduced volume and higher efficiency than the conventional two-stage inverters, and 4) MPPT accuracy of 99.3% with overall efficiency of 90% under the full-load condition.展开更多

The basic configuration of the new topology and their fundamental principle are firstly introduced, the method of design double-loop controller and sliding mode controller are clarified, analyzed and compared in the following. Finally the validity and feasibility of the new topology are tested by simulation. The results indicate that regulation of the voltage transfer ratio and output frequency can be realized optionally by the new converter, furthermore the harmonic distortion of waveform is low. So the inherent drawback of low voltage transfer ratio of traditional converter is effectively settled. This study may provide inspiration for further engineering application.展开更多

In order to achieve an output AC voltage higher than the input DC voltage, we can use this model consisting of a pair of DC-DC converters with a load connected differentially across them. This paper aims at developing a boost inverter that is capable of achieving a very high gain, to obtain an AC voltage of 110 Vrms from a DC input of 36 V. This is exceptionally beneficial in renewable energy applications, where the input voltage garnered is quite small, and in need of stepping up for commercial use or transmission. However, aside from the voltage level itself, lowering the rise time, settling time, peak overshoot and steady state error of the system is of cardinal importance in order to maintain a reliable output voltage. Closed loop control of the differentially connected DC-DC converters is necessary to determine the optimal stable operating point. This paper addresses the above concerns through optimization of the proportional and integral constants using the novel Bacterial Foraging Algorithm, ensuring operation at the required optimal stable operating point. Moreover, load/line disturbances may occur due to which the stability of output voltage may be compromised and THD value may increase to undesirable extents. In these cases, utilization of the output voltage is no longer viable for several applications sensitive to such voltage fluctuations. We have demonstrated that our proposed model is capable of restoring/reverting to the satisfactory sinusoidal waveform fashion within a single voltage cycle. The waveform results that demonstrate the resilience of our model to such disturbances are represented appropriately.展开更多

This system is equipped by solar system, wind energy conversion system (WECS), and microturbine system. Each DG’s has controlled independently. This is a kind of decentralize control because each DG’s has difference controller. Control of Microgrid (MG) during both grid tie and islanding modes is presented. Solar system and WECS are modeled based on santerno products. This system is compared with three inverter MGs with Centralize control strategy. Controlled signals show that SIMG is more reliable and economical. THD is improved and strategy is simplified for SIMG.展开更多

The proposed inverter consists of two isolated DC sources and six power semiconductor controlled switches. The suggested inverter is capable of generating seven-level output when the input DC voltage is taken in the ratio of 1:2. The higher magnitude DC source is fed from Photo Voltaic (PV) panels, whereas the lower magnitude DC source is fed from Wind Turbine (WT) driven Permanent Magnet DC (PMDC) generator. Both the renewable energy sources are connected to the inverter via two DC-DC boost converters connected in cascade (i.e. one for maximum power point tracking and another for DC-link voltage control). The proposed hybrid renewable energy source inverter is connected to single-phase grid via proper control systems. The complete system is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK and the results are presented in detail.展开更多
